Work Text:

Kevin looked in the mirror, sighing. He hated it. He wanted it to change, Kevin didn’t like being in his body. He just wanted to be happy for everyone else’s sake, but he couldn’t. Nothing would get rid of the ever-aching want to be someone else entirely. He didn’t want to be Kevin anymore.

Ever since he was little, he had never liked typical boy things. He had never really enjoyed cars or superheroes or anything like that. He wanted to be with the girls, he was drawn to them. He never knew why, really.

That is, until 3rd grade.

“Kevin!” A boy shouted from across the field, “Wanna come play ball with us?”

“No thanks, I’m playing on the swings with Christine and Ellen.” Kevin objected, “But thank you.”

“Alright, your loss.” The boy shrugged, “Enjoy the swings.”

Kevin walked towards the area with the wood chips, a swing set standing on the far left. He jumped on the swing and started swinging, talking to his friends while doing so. They talked just about all recess before Ellen brought up something he’d never heard of before.

“My mom said she’s my dad now, and I still don’t get it guys.” Ellen said thoughtfully, “But she said she wants to be a boy.”

“That’s not possible, is it?” Christine asked.

“Well.. she said it was! Oh, I should probably call her a he now.. But he said it was!” Ellen nodded.

“That’s cool!” Kevin smiled, “I wish I could do that.. I don’t like being a boy.”

“He said it was called ‘transgender’ or something. We should ask the teacher about it and see if she knows anything about it when we get back to the classroom, maybe you can too!”

The three smiled and continued talking, recess coming to an end. They all went back inside and sat down in their seats, waiting for the teacher to get back. Kevin was excited, to say the least. He wanted to know what this ‘transgender’ thing that Ellen was talking about was, and he was even more intrigued whether he could be ‘it’ or not.

He really didn’t like being a boy, and he really didn’t like doing anything the other boys liked either. He just wanted to have long, pretty hair to braid and play with dolls like Ellen and Christine did all the time. He enjoyed things like that. When the teacher arrived back in the classroom, the group of three immediately raised their hands at once.

“One at a time, kids.” She laughed, “Yes, Kevin?”

“Me and Ellen and Christine were all talking at recess and we wanted to know what ‘transgender’ meant! It sounds really cool!”

All the kids stared at Kevin in both confusion and in awe. They were now quite curious as well, waiting for the teacher’s response.

“Uhm.. well..” she started, “I don’t think I’m allowed to share it in class, sorry kids.”

All the kids frowned and sighed in disappointment, Kevin especially upset. Why wasn’t it allowed in class? Was it bad? He was thinking about it all the rest of the day.

Kevin went home that day, saddened. He didn’t know how that kind of thing could be bad, in fact it was kind of cool! I mean, everyone wants to change their gender, right? It wasn’t just him, was it? He stared out of the window of the car, sighing to himself.

He got home, got out of the car, and went straight to his room. He didn’t want to believe it was bad, it couldn’t be bad. He turned on his computer and immediately went to the internet. He typed in a quick ‘what does transgender mean’ and clicked on the first result. That was the first time in his life he realized what he was.

Hours of research later, Kevin was in tears. He didn’t know why, he had never been so moved by something before. He never realized something so small could be so big to someone like him.

That was the day. April 23rd, 2006. That day changed his life forever.

Today was a bright, summer day in the middle of June 2016. Kevin was sick of being how he was. It had been years and he still didn’t get to transition. His parents weren’t supportive, his now ex-girlfriend wasn’t supportive; he felt trapped. He felt like he wasn’t ever going to get anywhere, no matter how hard he tried. It’s not like he could pretend to have the equipment to transition, he was MTF. FTM’s could at least temporarily bind and pack and whatnot, he didn’t have anything. He was 17 and stuck in a living Hell in his mind.

He kicked the full length mirror lightly before going back to his bed and flopping down with a groan. He turned his head to the left and sighed at the backpack of clothes he had tucked away. His runaway bag. The singular dress he owned was in there. It’s not like he had ever worn it outside of the fitting rooms, but he sure did love it immensely.

His mind trailed off, thinking about what life would be like if he really did run away. Would anyone take him in? Would he have to get straight to three jobs to pay for a house? He had no idea, but his top priority was school right now, as his parents said. He didn’t want to upset them anymore than he had to.

“Ah shit.” He groaned, “I have homework.” He forced himself off the bed and stretched his arms, looking around the dark, somewhat unpresentable room. He kicked a navy blue hoodie to the side and walked over to the desk, sitting down and sighing. He pulled his folder out of his backpack and got to work.

Hours passed and Kevin was now passed out at his desk. The clock read 10:34 PM in bright, luminescent red. His phone buzzed, waking him up slightly. He decided to ignore it before it rang for a second time. Who in their right mind is calling me right now? He thought to himself.

“Kevin Moon, who is it?”

“Hey, it’s Juyeon.”

Kevin immediately perked up at the name. He’d liked Juyeon, his best friend, for forever now, he was just scared to admit it straight to his face, is all. Besides, his parents would be less than supportive of him, yet again. “Hey! What’s up?”

“Sorry for calling you so late, I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You seemed off today.”

“Oh yeah, I’m fine. Don’t worry about it!” He forced a laugh through the phone. In all honesty, that was a lie, but what else could he say? He’s been feeling the same for eons now, nothing was going to change that.

“You sure?” Juyeon’s tone was more worried now, “I’m waiting outside if you want to come and breathe a bit with me.”
Kevin looked out the window, curious. “You’re outside?”

“Yep. Me, Ellen, and Christine.”

“I’ll be right there, let me tell my parents.” He said, running down the stairs.

He looked at his parents. They were sitting on the couch, watching some horror movie again. “I’m going with my friends!” He mentioned, no reaction coming from them. He sighed, walking out the door. It’s not like they’d notice he was gone anyways.

They never did.

The three of them all went to the park and talked about most everything they could think of. Kevin had to admit, he really did feel a lot better afterwards. Whether they knew it or not, just the group’s presence made him feel safer, more at home. He really loved them all, whether those feelings were more platonic or romantic didn’t matter, they were his home.

Suddenly, Ellen spoke up. “Kevin?”

“Yeah? What’s up?”

“You know that one time back in.. 3rd grade? I think it was 3rd.” she started, “When I told you about my dad being trans or whatever?”

Kevin choked a little bit, not expecting her to remember. “Y-yeah, why?”

“What did you mean when you said you didn’t like being a boy?”

The group looked at Kevin, curious as to what he would answer. While he tried to look everywhere but them, he avoided the question, “Uh.. gee 3rd grade was a lot. Remember when Sam got bubblegum stuck in her hair?”

“Kevin, seriously. Are you a girl? You’ve given off those vibes for ages now.” Christine chimes in.

“What do you mean ‘those vibes’? I literally just exist and you call me trans?”

“I mean.. I haven’t even known you as long as them and you still seem like a girl to me, even if you try to hide it.” Juyeon looked to the side, avoiding eye contact.

Kevin looked down at the grass he was sitting in, fumbling with his fingers. Tears began to well up in his eyes. He didn’t know what to say; he didn’t know if they’d take it well. He didn’t know if Juyeon would still stay with him if he told them. “I just.. I don’t..”

Juyeon knelt next to him and started to rub his back, “Hey, it’s okay. Sorry, you don’t have to answer. We shouldn’t push it, especially if you’re not ready.”

Kevin looked back up at the group, inhaling and squeezing his eyes shut before speaking, “I want to be called Raine.”

Raine ran out the door that morning, expecting a less than ideal day. Last night was a ride with her friends, and she half expected them to forget entirely about her name preferences. She sure had hoped they did, anyways. If they forgot about her name, they probably forgot about her breakdown afterwards… right?

She arrived at the bus stop and waited. She saw the usual faces around, a few new ones lingering as per usual. She smiled at an older lady and waved before the bus halted to a stop in front of them. Raine hopped on and sat down, pulling out her phone and texting her friends a quick few messages before playing a few rounds of her game.

The bus ride felt longer than usual, oddly enough. It was probably the aching feeling in Raine’s stomach as she thought about the events that took place last night. She really was so embarrassed by it. She shoved her phone in her pocket and buried her face in her hands the rest of the ride.

The bus came to another stop in front of the school and Raine walked off, thanking the driver. She sighed, walking towards the building. She didn’t make it three steps before she heard a painfully familiar name called from a distance.

“Hey, Kevin! Are you doing anything later?” The voice rang through her ears.

“Busy as always, New.” She groaned, “Will you leave me alone already?”

“I just wanna be your friend!” The boy frowned, “C’mon, give me a chance! You gave Juyeon a chance!”

“That’s because Juyeon does my homework.” Raine joked, “But really, you’re annoying. Beat it.”

New pouted, “I’ll do your homework! C’mon, please just once?”

“New, really. You’re a cool kid,” Raine exhaled, “But you’re a real pain in the ass too. Let me go find my friends now, okay?”

The boy sighed in defeat, giving up and leaving it for another day. He ran off to go bother some other unfortunate kid that probably needed friends anyways.

Raine walked into the building and looked around, her eyes landing on a familiar locker. She walked to it and put in the code. “03-24-30” she mumbled under her breath before it clicked open. She set her backpack on the inside and got her stuff out before shutting the door softly. She then walked out to the commons, her typical meeting place for friends.

“Raine! Hi!” Juyeon smiled, Christine and Ellen behind him. “How was your night?”

Raine reddened slightly, the smile flustering her. She hated that she always got so nervous and burnt up when Juyeon did literally anything. It was the absolute worst. “It was.. fine, thanks.”

Ellen winked at Juyeon before walking away, making the latter groan and roll his eyes. Christine did the same and the two were left alone to talk.

“Where are they off to?”

“Probably hanging out with their other friends, who knows. I don’t care.” Juyeon replied, “Hey, idea.”

“Hmm?” Raine was intrigued now, Juyeon never had any ideas. Or well, at least not good ones.

“Let’s skip together today.”

Raine tilted her head, “Why today? Not-so-fun classes?”

“Just wanna hang out with you, y’know. I’ve missed you.”

Raine was a bright pink at this point. God damn it, Lee Juyeon. She thought to herself, Why are you so stupid? “S-sure, I guess.”

The two ran out of the building, one after the other, right before the bell rang. Juyeon led Raine to a familiar area outside of school grounds and they sat down on the concrete patch behind a store front.

Raine laughed, “Why do you always choose this.. dump.”

Juyeon shrugged. “It’s where I found my cat.”

“You say that every time, Ju.” She teased.

“Irrelevant. I brought you here today to ask you an important question.”

She stared at Juyeon deadpan, “Really? An important question at the location you found your crippled cat at? You’re not serious, are you?”

“I am! I’ve been meaning to ask for a while but I didn’t want to like.. scare you off or anything, you know.”

“Okay. Shoot.”

Juyeon looked up at the sky, semi-spaced out. He thought to himself for a moment before looking back down, straight at Raine. “Raine.”

“Juyeon?”

“Can I kiss you?”

Raine blushed, not knowing what to say. She certainly didn’t expect anything like this to come from Juyeon of all people, but it most certainly did. At least she thought it did. “What?”

“Can I kiss you? Like, on the lips?” Juyeon asked again, staring right into Raine’s eyes.

Raine nodded, “Y-yeah. That would be nice.”

Juyeon lifted his chin and inched closer to Raine’s face, slowly and cautiously, scared to make a move. Her heartbeat was rapidly increasing, her breath hitching. Eventually, their lips clashed together and they both sighed into it.

It was a wonderful feeling, really. Juyeon’s lips were soft and he was definitely experienced. Raine, however, had never been kissed before, and certainly never expected her first to be with Juyeon, but here they were. He felt a few bites along his bottom lip, making his mouth open slightly. Her arms were wrapped around Juyeon’s neck and her hands were tangled in his hair. It was the best thing Raine had felt in years. It felt euphoric.

Juyeon’s hand slid onto Kevin’s waist, holding her gently. They never wanted to stop, but unfortunately they were running out of air. He was the first to pull away, breathless and dazed. “Wow, you’re a great kisser.”

“Thanks?” Raine laughed nervously, avoiding eye contact, “That was my first time.”

“Really? You seem like someone who’d get a lot more game, honestly.”

“I shut them all down, usually.” Raine kept avoiding eye contact, embarrassed by Juyeon now, “I didn’t want anyone that wasn’t you.”

Now it was Juyeon’s turn to turn bright pink, “Awe, that’s cute.”

“Shut up! No it’s not!” Raine contested, her face flustering. A sudden ring came from her pocket, she was half expecting another spam call. The phone flashed a name on the screen: Mom.

Raine was panicking now, not knowing why her mother was ever calling her. She never did, especially not during school.

Juyeon rubbed her arm in an attempt to comfort her. “Hey, is everything alright?”

“One second, I’ll be back.” Raine said, jumping up suddenly, “I have to take this.” She walked over to the other side of the back of the building and picked up the call. “Hello, this is Kevin.”

“Come home. Right now.”

+.・ ♡ ・.+

Juyeon dropped her off in front of her house, waving a goodbye and mouthing a ‘stay safe’ before driving off. Raine hurried inside, shutting the door behind her. “Mom? I’m here, what is it?”

A loud crash suddenly came from the kitchen, causing a jolt from Raine. She ran in to see what it was, eyes widening at the sight. His mom was furious. Raine’s transcripts were laid out all over the counter, with highlights on almost every single one.

“Explain where your grades have been going for the past 6 months, right now, young man.”

Raine looked down at the counter. She had been skipping and avoiding classes for months now, she didn’t think his parents would ever find out. They never looked at anything of hers, important or not. “I don’t know.” she lied, “I just.. it’s been hard to go to cl-”

Her mom slapped her across the face. “Don’t lie to me, Kevin Moon.”

Tears welled up in her eyes, “I’m sorry, I’ve been skipping.”

“And why is that?” She looked at him sternly, “Is it to hang out with those stupid homos you’re friends with?”

“Don’t call them that!” She said, getting another hit to the face.

His mom started yelling now, “I will call them whatever I want! No more hanging out with them, you hear me?”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“They are never allowed in this house ever again and you will never speak of them to my face as long as you live in this household.” She demanded, “Now clean up that wine glass. I don’t want to step on it.”

Raine went to the closet and got the broom, still trying to hold back her tears. She swept it all up quickly and ran back up to her room, ignoring her phone going off again. She just wanted to sleep at this point and she didn’t want anything bothering her.

She curled up on the bed, letting it all out finally. She usually didn’t like feeling so vulnerable, but it had been a long day. Her tears wet the pillows as she slowly drifted off to sleep, trying to forget about everything.

+.・ ♡ ・.+

The next few weeks were torturous. It was phone call after phone call, text after text. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Raine would avoid taking her usual hallways and go the long way to class just to avoid her friends. She didn’t want to upset her mother anymore than she already was.

All Raine would do nowadays was study and work. Nonetheless, her grades were still dropping and his self esteem was too. She couldn’t even listen to her mom correctly. She couldn’t be who she wanted and she couldn’t follow her strict directions. It was painful.

She quit his after school job just to get her school work done, risking more time at home with her parents. She hated being alone with them, but it was for the best, at least in her mind.

She wouldn’t get to eat or rest or anything until she got her work done, and if it was done poorly it was a hit to the face and back to the grind. It was awful. She wanted to get it done and over with, but she was struggling. She couldn’t seem to do anything and it was eating at her now more than ever.

She flopped down on her bed for the night, tears streaming down her face again. Everything was so hard. She wanted it to be over. She wanted it to be done. So that night, she did what any kind of struggling kid would do in that situation. She wrote a note.

Mom and Dad,
I’m sorry for everything. I really tried to be that kid you wanted, but I couldn’t do it. I really wish I could be everything you’d ever wanted and more, but I can’t be. All I do is get burnt out and cry and I’m tired of it all. I’m tired of living with you. I’m tired of being hit and I’m tired of avoiding the people who made me actually feel like I had a home.
So I’m running away.
By the time you read this, I’m probably long gone. I’ll really miss you, and I really love you guys, but I can’t do it anymore. I’m sorry I couldn’t be the son you wanted me to be. I’ll come back one day, I swear. I just need a break, that's all. I’ll miss you dearly.
Your son, Kevin.

Raine left it on the kitchen island that night. She then packed the rest of her things, showered, and left. She didn’t know where she was going, but she sure was going. She was out, she was free. For now, at least.

She walked for a while before arriving in front of a medium sized family home. Plants lined the foundation and walkway up to the house and the siding was painted a nice, light blue. It was two stories tall, nicely roofed. It was one of the newer homes in this neighborhood. Raine sighed, walking up to the door and knocking.

Juyeon opened the door, startled at who was there. “Oh, K- Raine! Hi, it’s been awhile.”

“Do you have a spare bed?” Raine started, “I just.. can’t stay at my parent’s anymore.”

“Is something wrong? Why so suddenly?” Juyeon questioned, worried, “Wait, come inside. It’s getting cold.”

Raine followed him inside, shutting the door behind her. She followed Juyeon to the couch and sat down, immediately breaking down. “I’m sorry for just barging into your life all the sudden again but I really need help.” she started, “I ran away and now I have nowhere to go, and I thought maybe coming here was a good idea? I don’t know.”

“Hey, chill out a bit, you’re alright.” Juyeon patted his shoulder, “You’re always welcome here, even if we haven’t talked for like.. 3 weeks now.”

“Sorry about that. Mom said to stop talking to you guys and I got scared so I just listened.”

“That’s alright, really. I swear you’re fine, you can stop apologizing.” He consoled, “How about I make us some hot chocolate and we just talk for a bit, okay?”

Raine sniffled, “That sounds nice.”

Juyeon patted her head before walking to the kitchen, preparing two hot chocolates for them both. He soon returned with the beverages and sat down next to Raine, handing him one and pulling the spare blanket they had on the couch over both of them. Raine leaned on Juyeon’s shoulder, still sniffling from crying earlier.

“Do you want to talk about it now?” Juyeon questioned, “Or do you want to wait until another day?”

“It’s horrible, Ju. I just can’t live up to their expectations.” Raine mumbled, “It’s either I’m doing too much or not enough all the time! It’s stupid. It’s all stupid. It makes me feel stupid.”

“You’re not stupid.” Juyeon comforted, “You’re so smart and so brave and just– overall really great.”

Raine looked up into his eyes, smiling softly. “Thanks, idiot.”

“Hey!” He laughed, “I compliment you and you insult me? I see how it is.”

The two talked for a long while, ignoring every problem they could’ve ever had. Soon, one thing turned into another, and the two were face to face, inches away from each other. Juyeon caressed Raine’s cheek, staring deep into his eyes. “Can I?”

“Please.” Raine whispered, inching even closer. Their lips brushed together for a mere moment before a voice came from behind the couch.

“Stop making out in the living area! Get a room!” Juyeon’s sister groaned.

Juyeon rolled his eyes. “Haneul, can you give us space for like 3 minutes?”

Raine covered her face, embarrassed. “Let’s go to your room.”

+.・ ♡ ・.+

It started out chill, it really did. Raine was just talking about her embarrassment while Juyeon was trying to cool her off. It soon escalated, however, and they were now making out on Juyeon’s bed. It was heated and passionate, and overall a great kiss in Raine’s opinion.
It wasn’t long before they got each other’s shirts off, hands trailing across each other’s bodies. Juyeon kissed her neck, causing Raine to let out a soft mewl before he started nibbling.

Juyeon’s hands traveled lower and lower, soon teasing at the tent in Raine’s pants. “Please, Ju..” Raine moaned out, “Please touch me”

“I’m getting there, don’t worry, princess.” Juyeon laughed softly, kissing her forehead before pulling down her pants.

It was cold at first, the air suddenly hitting her dick. She let out a low pitched groan when she felt a wet hand curl around it. She couldn’t decide if it was lube or spit, but it sure did feel amazing. What sealed the deal, however, was when she felt Juyeon’s mouth around her dick, causing her hips to buckle with pleasure. Juyeon moaned around her cock, jacking her off with his hand where his mouth couldn’t reach.

Raine was a disaster, nearly screaming his name out. She grabbed his hair, lightly pulling. It all felt amazing. “Cl-close!” she moaned. Suddenly, there was nothing there anymore. She whimpered softly. “Why’d you stop?”

“We can’t be done now, I still have a problem.” Juyeon replied, kissing her temple lightly.

Raine could barely look down before she felt a finger up her hole. She moaned loudly, arching her back. Juyeon continued fingering and stretching her out, adding a finger every so often.

“You’re such a good girl, so pretty.” Raine whimpered at the praise.

He soon pulled his own pants and boxers off. He opened the drawer on his nightstand, fumbling around before he found a bottle of lube and a condom. He pulled the condom over his dick, applying a generous amount of lube. He gently brushed his tip along her hole, teasing her. “Ready?”

“As I’ll ever be.” Raine replied, desperate to get his dick inside of her.

She felt a sudden painful pleasure rush through her body as he thrusted into her, barely having the tip inside. As she adjusted, Juyeon kissed and nibbled at her neck, leaving more markings. “Y-you can move.”

As Juyeon thrusted into her slowly, she was a moaning mess. Raine arched her back, wrapping her legs around Juyeon as she gripped onto the sheets tightly. It got even better when Juyeon wrapped his hand back around her dick, pumping it at the same pace he thrusted. It felt absolutely euphoric. It wasn’t long before they were both cumming at the same time, Raine blacking out underneath him.

Waking up was an experience. Raine was no longer sticky and covered in any bodily fluids whatsoever. Juyeon laid beside her, messing with her hair. “Good morning, angel.”

“What time is it?” Raine asked, promptly sitting up and rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

“Like 6 in the morning. I didn’t wanna wake you up earlier, you seemed tired.”

“Ah, we have school today, don’t we?”

Juyeon laughed lightly. “It’s Saturday, silly.”

“Oh.. well then, breakfast?”

+.・ ♡ ・.+

The next few weeks were decent for once. Juyeon’s mom accepted her into the family, making sure not to misgender her or make her uncomfortable in any way. She started therapy, got help with school; she was somewhat happy again.

She never got a call from her parents, though. That thought saddened her. Did they really not care? Did they really just accept the fact that she left? Maybe they were waiting for her to come back. She did still have a lot of her belongings over there, maybe they expected her to go and get them.

She tried her best to shrug the thought off, leaving it for another day, but it wouldn’t go away. No matter what she did, her thoughts always turned back to her parents. It kept eating at her, making life harder than it had to be. The thought always replayed in her head. They don’t care.

No one seemed to notice, however, until Christine caught her crying behind the bleachers one day. It was a hard talk to get through. It’s not like Raine wanted to miss her parents, they were jerks. Total assholes, in fact, but they were still her parents. They still raised her and took care of her all throughout her childhood.

A comforting voice came from behind the two girls shortly after, Raine immediately knowing who it was. Juyeon didn’t even have to say anything before Raine was wrapped around his neck, crying into his shirt. He rubbed her back softly, humming lightly in hopes to calm her. She told him everything all at once, and he just listened. He was good at that, just listening. It was one of the things Raine loved about him. He always knew when to speak and when to give advice, but he also knew how to listen.

A few days had passed since then. It was a Saturday afternoon in the middle of June. Raine, along with her friends and Juyeon’s parents and sister, were all stood outside the front door of Raine’s parents’ house. She tapped lightly on the door, hoping her parents wouldn’t hear at first.

“You’re knocking so lightly, I’ll do it!” Haneul said, practically pounding on the door.

Raine flinched. Now they really were going to know she was there. She took a deep breath in, preparing herself for the worst.

The door swung open, her father appearing on the other side. His eyes widened, staring straight at Raine. It was an awkward moment, to say the least. “Kevin, where have you been?”

“Hi, erm– I came to get my stuff.” Raine scratched the back of her neck lightly, “Sorry I didn’t call or anything first, I didn’t think you wanted a message from–”

Her dad pulled her into a hug, not saying another word. Tears welled up in Raine’s eyes as she hugged him back gently. It was the first time in a long time she actually felt safe in her parent’s arms.

They pulled away and her dad smiled at her. “Who are these people?”

“My friends and their family.” Raine gestured to Juyeon, “and my– uhm.. Boyfriend.”

Her dad lit up, holding his hand out for a shake towards Juyeon. “It’s nice to finally meet you. Juyong.. right?”

“Juyeon.” He smiled, shaking his hand politely, “It’s a pleasure.”

“I remember hearing about you a long time ago.” Her dad laughed, “You were the center of attention until Kevin’s mother found out you were uh.. gay, you know. Oh my.. is it still Kevin?”

Raine corrected him and they continued talking. Her dad was actually making an effort. It was something she never thought she’d experience. It was heartwarming, really. Her dad showed everyone up to her room, where all her things were neatly packed into boxes upon her mother’s request. Her dad explained how he was trying to learn more about the whole ‘transgender’ thing in private and how her mom still was, indeed, being a bitch about it.

Everything was almost all in Juyeon’s car when Raine’s mom pulled up into the driveway angrily. She slammed her car door storming into the house and up to Raine’s room.

“Kevin Moon!” Everyone stopped moving. It was completely silent other than her mother’s voice. “Where in the ever living hell have you been?”

“I’m sorry.” Raine choked out, “I’m really sorry.”

“I don’t want to hear any fucking sorries out of you!” Her mother’s voice got louder, ringing through Raine’s ears, “Where have you been, young man?”

“At my b– friend’s house. I’m sorry.”

Her mother approached her, smacking her across the face. It doesn’t take long before there’s about three separate people pulling her away as she yells at Raine. Tears were streaming down her face, a red mark left on her cheek.

Juyeon quickly approached her, pulling her into an embrace and rocking her back and forth. “It’s okay, I’m here.” He said, caressing her cheek, “You’re safe, I’m here.”

The weeks continued passing, everything falling back into place. Raine had moved in with Juyeon officially, her dad was messaging her every so often with questions about things; life was okay again.

Raine flopped down onto her shared bed, right next to Juyeon. School was officially out as of an hour ago, and she was now a graduate of her class. She managed to pass everything with some assistance, and she was now starting the college application process. Not that that really mattered to her right now, anyways. Her boyfriend was right next to her, playing on his phone. She tapped the screen, making him lose his game.

“Hey!” Juyeon turned his head to face her, “What was that for?”

Raine left a kiss on his nose. “I miss you.”

“Dork.”

It was another long summer day, the middle of June. Today was special. Everyone important was there. Raine’s father was linked to her side, arm in arm. Raine looked gorgeous. Her hair sat in a curled bob, a tiara placed upon her head with a veil flowing down. She wore a long, white, princess-like ball gown that trailed behind her like a waterfall.

“Are you ready?” Her dad nudged her side, signaling it was almost time to walk out.

Raine smiled. “As I’ll ever be.”

The two walked down the aisle as the music played, everyone in awe of how pretty Raine looked. At the end, there stood her highschool sweetheart, soon-to-be husband, Juyeon. He looked gorgeous as well, obviously, but how could he not? He was the one and only Lee Juyeon, he was always pretty.

They stood together, facing each other. Their eyes were locked the whole time as they said their vows, all the way up until their lips locked together, sealing the deal officially. They were officially married, officially a family. Everyone cheered for them, celebrating the commitment. It was a good day. Raine was happy, they all were.

Raine Lee felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
