There was one thing Childe could never get tired off. And that’s Diluc seething with rage, controlled anger bubbling under his skin, seconds away from burning the whole world down. Why? Childe is not sure but he’s trying to reason its normal to love and crave that sight. Who would not love the sight of the Dawn winery owner with rolled up sleeves, messy ponytail and heaving chest standing in the training area near the grapes? The sound of fists hitting wood could be heard from afar accompanied by silently muttered curses and heavy breathing.
It’s been ages since he last decided to do this, but today was just too much and forced him to get home, throw his jacket away and rip his gloves off and just punch punch punch until his knuckles started to hurt and old scars resurface and ache. Everything went downhill today from the moment he woke up.
At first, he thought he was a bit clumsy, dropping his mug of tea and getting tea on his clothes but after that it only got worse. Elzer coming to him informing him about a wine shipment getting lost on its way to Liyue and him deciding to go look for it himself, not trusting the knights once again. He should have let the knights handle it, Diluc realised as he was surrounded by multiple Mitachurls and other monsters, a ruin guarder also joining the fun. Having to accept the help of Kaeyas scouting group was definitely not on his bucket list, especially not with said groups captain not being able to stop his teasing.
Arriving back at the winery, he had to throw his beloved coat away thanks to it being sliced in two by the axe of a Mitachurl and immediately was requested again by Elzer to investigate a strange occurrence in their wine cellar with wine bottles missing. Its safe to say today wasn’t Dilucs best day.
But his fight with Kaeya in the tavern was the tip of the iceberg. Diluc learned to ignore his “brothers” teasing and poking about his private life especially with Ajax being in it now. But sometimes, he still manages to get under his skin. Without a word he threw the towel at Charles with an apology and left the tavern and walked home. He hoped the long walk a would help him calm down but it only made It worse, allowing his mind to overthink and start worrying for his lover as well as anything else.
So here he was now, destroying something he wouldn’t regret for once. Fists bloody and eyes focused yet unfocused, not realising what was happening around him as well as not hearing the approaching footsteps. All that mattered right now was destroying the puppet in fron of him and not even his bleeding knuckles would stop him. Everything now was pure instinct and the drive of anger flowing through his veins.
Leading to him grabbing his lovers hand on his shoulder and move to kick him in the guts. But anger also makes you stop thinking. So, in seconds Diluc was flying through the air and landing on his backside with Tartaglia hovering over him, dagger in hand and pressed against his throat. Both breathing heavy with murderous intent in their eyes, two hunters holding eye contact.
“Do you want to explain your bloody knuckles or still need to get it out of your system?” Tartaglia asked while pressing his knee further into Dilucs torso. With a deep sigh the Dawn winery owner said nothing and just collapsed on the floor, relaxing his whole body and laying his forearm across his eyes. Sensing the defeat in the man’s body, Ajax lets the dagger dissolve and sits down next to Dilucs head followed by the man laying his head into his lap. Holding the red locks gentle in his hands, Ajax couldn’t stop himself from noticing the ever prominent eyebags under his lovers eyes. Sighing softly, Ajax allows his hand to find its place on Dilucs cheek and to trace his cheekbones softly, “Didn’t I tell you to go easy today? You suffered from headaches all day yesterday.”
Letting out a scoff, Diluc slowly opens his eyes to his Lover hovering over him. “Don’t tell me that. It was my plan, I promised you but it just wasn’t possible.”
Only then did Ajax realise the absence of Dilucs coat and gloves, two things that always accompany the young man alongside his claymore. Their absence could probably only mean that they got destroyed and while Ajax was sorry for Diluc, he loved the coat since it was a redesign of his fathers cloak, it looked horrible on him. Maybe he could persuade him to wear a short jacket instead like him or a cloak with straight ends… “Stop thinking about getting me a new cloak I can see your gears turning, I know you hated that thing.” Diluc threw small daggers at his partner with his eyes while that one could only sweetly smile.
“Im only thinking about whats best for you and your adorable tiny waist” Ajax couldn’t stop himself from grinning from eye to eye especially when he heard the small whatever from the blushing man in his lap. “But enough, want to tell me what happened today?” he asked while starting to create small braids with Dilucs hair, “Maybe it will help instead of damaging yourself.”
Running a hand over his face the redhead mumbles a small “yeah whatever” and after a small break proceeds to tell Ajax what happened all day. Sometime during their talk Diluc sat up, allowing Ajax to continue his braiding, a task both realised a long time ago was relaxing for both of them. When Ajax was done, Diluc had a small braided bun sitting in the nape of his neck and the redhead was just finishing talking about his day.
“And I thought I had a bad day because I was just allowed to run some intimidation work today.” Rolling his eyes, Diluc finally got up and dusted his pants off and held a hand out for the other man. “Of course you are sad you couldn’t fight." pulling the other man up, Diluc placed a small kiss on his lovers cheek. "Let’s get inside I need to get cleaned up finally.” Hugging the man from behind, Ajax just grinned into the others hair and mumbled a “You know I could help you with that right?”
The result was Ajax getting a slap on his hand and getting told he could help Adelinde with dinner.
