Chapter Text

After losing the portal thanks to the human, Belos had been nonstop trying to do his own portal, making plans and such in the throne room. He didn't need distractions and frankly he didn't wanted to be disturbed either, so he had Kikimora put the place under lockdown, leaving him, her and the Golden Guard alone. It seems as though he had found peace right now.

However, fate doesn't want him and so, a loud thud was heard somewhere near the throne room, getting his and the others attention.

"Kikimora, didn't I said not to let anyone into and near the throne room?"

Kikimora nodded at that. "I had, my Emperor. Would you like me to check what it is?"

He only nodded as Kikimora then went out. "Also," he added, "bring the Golden Guard with you."

Kikimora grumbled but just gestured the Golden Guard to follow her, which he did. 'I'm gonna kill that kid someday.'

As they check the whole place, they didn't find the source of said thud. And so, they then turn back to return, when suddenly,

"Over there."

The Golden Guard pointed to a hallway, with Kikimora looking after. Said hallway was nearly empty, sans the silhouette of a person running by the corner.

Wait what?

Kikimora then ran to the said silhouette, with the Guard following suite. When they managed to turn around the corner, the silhouette then ran to a set of door. Said door, however, leads to the Emperor's room and the two then quickly ran to protect him.

When they reached there, however, the Emperor had already dispatched of the threat. Kikimora looked at the knocked out person in front of her.

Other than her ears, the said person wasn't remarkable. Except the fact it's another human, Kikimora didn't knew what to do but check on them.

When she did, hey eyes widen up in suprise. "It can't be." She looked at the Emperor who, even though his mask hides his face properly it didn't hide his eyes properly to those who look properly, had a shocked expression.

"My Emperor, what shall we do to this human?"

That got the two's attention and so, Belos had ordered him to put the human locked up in one of the quarters in the castle. The Golden Guard did as he was ordered, not asking any questions.

"My liege, are you all right?"

Kikimora was worried as Belos then sat down his throne, breathing hardly. "Kikimora, do you think...." She didn't finished the question, or rather, she didn't want to finish the question.

"I don't know, Kikimora. But until then, let's keep her locked up." Kikimora nodded as she then noticed a locket on the ground and picked it up. She didn't want to show it to him yet and so, she held it. For now.
