During one meeting between the two gangs, Kokonui was talking about ways they can start earning an income to support their activities in some less than legal ways and some legal. Gang members were listening attentively to his words, but most looked lost or just weren't paying attention.
Draken was paying attention or at least trying to. His headphones broke, and he could hear every noise the brothel made at night. It was safe to say he didn't get any sleep at all considering how loud it was. Seriously, he should invest in getting multiple pairs at once.
Draken looked over at Mikey, who he was 90% sure was asleep. To his utter shock and disbelief, the Toman commander was awake. He was wide awake, which was unusual and a bit worrying. Mikey was awake, but his attention wasn't towards Koko. His head was turned slightly and eyes were in a totally different direction. Draken followed Mikey's gaze, and he was staring at the Haitani brothers?
The brothers were away from the rest of the meeting, choosing to stay close to the woods behind the shrine. They were talking to each other, seemingly bored or uninterested with the current meeting.
Weird. Mikey never seemed interested in them before. In fact, Draken doesn't think the three of them have ever had a conversation. The Haitani brothers preferred to stay to themselves and only talked to other high ranking Tenjiku members. Scratch that, they did talk to others but mainly to mock them.
Mikey rested his face in his hand. He leaned forward a bit to rest his elbow on his leg. He let out a rather heavy sigh as he continued to stare at the two brothers. Suddenly, Mikey's head slowly started to turn like he was following something. That was even weirder, the two brothers were staying in the same place. So Mikey wasn't looking at them, then what?
Draken followed Mikey's gaze one more time. What could be so important that it had all of Mikey's attention?
Draken finally saw it- well her. The Haitani brothers' younger sister, Haitani Takemichi. It was hard to see her black hair from a distance at night, but it was her. She was shorter than her brothers and didn't have the signature Tenjiku uniform, so it was easy to miss her.
Wait.
Mikey was staring at Haitani Takemichi? No, he couldn't be. Mikey rarely showed interest in other people, and as far as Draken knows him and Takemichi haven't spoken to each other. The girl was always surrounded by her two older brothers who took her everywhere with them. Draken could count the times he heard the girl speak to others in one hand.
In fact, Draken has only been close up to the girl maybe twice. The first time was when she introduced herself before being ushered away by her older brothers. The second time was when she was walking to the bikes and passed him with a brief smile and wave.
Mikey and him were practically glued at the hip. This meant that Mikey too rarely came across the Haitani sister. So there's no way Mikey was staring at a girl he barely knew.
Draken looked back at Mikey, and sure enough his eyes were still following her figure as she walked back to her brothers with drinks in her hands. Draken also didn't miss the faint smile that was on Mikey's lips.
There was no way.
There was no way Sano Manjiro, Toman's commander, the Invincible Mikey was making googly eyes at a girl her barely knew. Scratch that. There was no way he was making googly eyes at Haitani Takemichi, the girl who was related to the Haitani brothers.
