Baji loves violence, he's crazy.
That was Takemichi's first impression of Toman's first division captain. Baji doesn't hesitate to punch his enemy, the scary part is he does it with a feral grin and you could see him enjoying beating ass. He has an intimidating look, he also looks at you with contempt. Takemichi is scared to talk and face the first division captain, so intimidating I can't handle that — was Takemichi's reply to Mikey everytime the blond boy asks why he's not talking to Baji when he speaks to the other division captain.
Takemichi doesn't want to have a single interaction with the boy. Scared? Maybe, according to Mikey, the boy is unpredictable. His way of thinking is too complicated, you can't tell what he's thinking, and that's what Takemichi is scared of because what if Baji punches him out of nowhere. Hell, he even discovered that Baji once burned a car because he's hungry. Who thinks like that?
So just like that, he decided to stay the fuck away from him.

Takemichi should've just stayed in his house. He kept staring at the convenience store's floor as if that was the most interesting thing he'd seen. Because what the fuck, the person in front of him is the person he eagerly avoiding. What the fuck Baji-san doing here? Of course that was a stupid question, Baji is holding a yakisoba so of course he's buying some stuff. Stupid Takemichi.
"Yo" Takemichi tried to not flinch when he heard Baji's deep voice. "Uh.. B-Baji-san hi"
"What are you doing here?" the boy with long raven hair asked. "Uhm… buying?" Takemichi wants to hit himself, he just wants to run and go home. He can't bring himself to look at Baji's face, so he keeps staring at Baji's chest. Oh wow, he's kinda buff. His train of thoughts was cut off when he heard Baji's laugh, he gulped the lump in his throat before looking at Baji's grinning face. Oh, he's handsome too.
"Love what you are seeing?" Baji asked, grinning. Takemichi quickly looks away, and he can feel his face heating up — he's blushing. "U-Uh haha, I'm paying now Baji-san.. Uhm excuse me?" Takemichi is sweating now, he can feel it. Baji said nothing and just stepped aside, he gave a small smile before walking towards the counter.
He can feel Baji's presence, it's so strong and intimidating. And he's following Takemichi, the blond boy could feel the intense gaze — as if Baji is studying every bit of his body,of his soul.
After paying, Takemichi immediately left the convenience store. Before he could run, Baji grabbed his wrist and said "Want to hangout?" Takemichi's mind start buffering, trying to understand, what the fuck happened. He wanted to say no but his dumb mouth said "Okay….?"

He found himself sitting on the floor in Baji's room. He looked around and saw some motorcycle posters, a skateboard, mangas, and cat foods — a LOT of cat foods, what the hell.
He heard Baji's room open, "Hey, are you okay?"
"Huh? Yeah I'm okay Baji-san."
"Comfortable?"
"Comfortable"
An awkward silence engulfed the room, Takemichi could hear his heart beating, his ears ringing. And he swear, he could also hear Baji's breathing.
"Hey Hanagaki, I want to ask you something."
"Huh? Uh, okay you can ask.."
"Why are you avoiding me?" A beat. Baji knows, he fucking knows that Takemichi is avoiding him. Takemichi froze, he couldn't come up with a justifiable answer. Is being scared a justifiable answer? Baji's next question made him look at the boy with raven long hair, completely caught off guard.
"Are you.. scared of me?"
There's no sense of lying, so he sheepishly said "Yes.." Another silence.
"Don't.." He looked at Baji — Baji's looking at him and eyes hopeful. He could feel his heart beating, and he's afraid that Baji might hear his loud heart beating. "Don't be afraid of me Hanagaki, I don't bite." But you punch and kick huhu.
"I don't know what the fuck I did for you to be so scared of me. But I'm not the kind of person who just punches and kicks someone just because I want, and don't worry! I'm never going to hurt you because you're my friend, dumbass!" He looked at Baji, eyes wide, Huh?
"Friends..??" Does Baji really see him as his friend? It was surprising, really. Takemichi can't comprehend what Baji said because what the fuck. Takemichi never thought that Baji actually sees him as his friend.
"I-I thought you don't like me..?"
Baji snickered. Huh.
"You're really a dumbass, of course! Mikey's friend is my friend too, but to be honest, at first I didn't really like you. You're weak, small-"
"I'm not small, y'all are just taller!" Takemichi said, Baji just laughed at him and continued speaking. "So yeah, you're weak and small but, I could see your strength too. Which is your burning determination, and you're also… pretty" Takemichi's face is red as tomato, and he swears he saw Baji blushing. "So, Hanagaki let's be friends, let's talk more often"

After that talk in Baji's room, they've become closer. Hanging out every weekend, after Toman's meeting, and sometimes they go to the meeting together. Of course, everyone noticed the changes, and they're so relieved and happy that finally — the morons were starting to become closer, no more awkward bowing, awkward meetings, and outings.
"Kei-kun!" Takemichi called Baji, oblivious to the looks given to him.
"Kei-kun? They're really close huh?"
"Oh wow, they've already reached the nickname stage huh"
"What the fuck is nickname stage."
"You know, some friends to lovers type of shit."
"What? You weirdo ain't making sense"
Baji just stared at them, telling them to scram. Takemichi runs towards Baji, smiling. "Kei-kun, look there's a new ramen shop in Shinjuku!" Takemichi shoved the phone in front of Baji's face.
"You want to try?"
"Yes!"
"Okay then let's go to Shinjuku tomorrow."

Takemichi learned that Baji is a sweet, understanding, and caring boy and despite having an intimidating aura, he's actually a warm person.
Baji is scary, but not that scary.
