Chapter Text
It all happened so fast, one moment he was fighting alongside his rival and friend Kakashi. Then he noticed two young boys on the battlefield, huddled together out of fear surrounded by enemy ninja. Guy didn’t hesitate as he ran forward and scooped both boys into his arms. Then pain, shearing, burning pain all along his back. He held the two boys closer to him, ignoring the pain, he ran forward towards the village. But suddenly the sound of fighting faded into nothing, the smell of blood and sweat went away as if it was never there, the dark black night faded into a bright sunny day. Feeling they were no longer in danger, Guy fell to his knees and gently placed the two boys down, smiling through his pain.
“Hey you boys ok?” The older boy looked up at him, he had black hair, black eyes, and had very bushy eyebrows. The kid sniffed and said, “I-I’m ok,” he turned to the other boy asking, “How about you? Are you ok?” The other child was blond with big blue eyes, and had whiskers like marks on his cheeks. Sniffing softly the boy said, “y-yeah! I-I wasn’t scared or nothing!”
Guy chuckled and gently ruffled the hair of the two boys. “Good! I’m Might Guy, what are your names and how old are you two?” The blond smiled and said, “I’m Naruto Uzumaki, and I’m four years old! Believe it!” Guy already knew that but just smiled and acted like he didn’t. The black haired boy smiled and said, “I’m Rock Lee and I’m five years old!” Guy nodded then grunted softly in pain, “I-it’s great to meet you both! Now…” Guy carefully looked around them to find himself in a quited forested area, but the village was nowhere in sight. “Where are we?”
The three then heard a loud gasp from behind Guy. The man carefully looked over his shoulder to see another little boy with dark green hair and bright green eyes staring at him. The boy dropped the bucket and net he was holding and ran straight towards him, “Mister!? Are you ok!? Your back is all red!! D-do you need help!? I-I can call my mom!” The boy started to ramble as he rushed to Guy’s side grabbing the man’s hand to try and lead him away. At hearing the green haired boy’s comment about Guy's back, the other two boys quickly rushed around to check it. Causing all three boys to panic. They spoke over each other loudly trying to decide what to do. Guy tried to calm the three of them down, but before he could get a word out he heard a worried female voice say, “IZUKU!? Where are you honey!?”
The green-haired boy, who hadn’t let go of Guy’s hand, yelled out, “Mommy!! Help! There’s a hero here and he’s hurt really really bad!” Guy heard running footsteps from the path the green haired boy, Izuku, had come from. A beautiful young woman with the same hair and eyes as Izuku came running down the path. On seeing the three young boys and the very injured man she gasped. She seemed to teleport to Guy’s side before kneeling beside him. “Oh my god! Are you alright!? Your back looks horrible burned! W-we’ve got to get you to the hospital!”
Guy took one look at the woman and instantly knew two things about her. One; this woman wasn’t from the Hidden Leaf village, and two; this woman wasn’t a Ninja. But he still couldn’t take any chances. Going to unfamiliar villages’ hospitals could lead to trouble! Especially since he had Lee and Naruto to think about. Guy shook his head, “T-thank you kindly ma’am but I don’t ne- Ah!” Guy tried to stand but as he straightened his back, he cried out as burning pain blazed anew down his spine.
As he started to stumble the young woman quickly helped to steady him, placing one of his arms over her shoulders and carefully wrapping one of her arms around his waist saying, “Then you’re coming with me, you need medical attention. Boys let’s go.” Guy started, “T-that’s not” but he stopped himself as he met the small woman’s eyes. She gave him a look that only a mother could give. A look that said, I’m not taking no for an answer. He then felt three pairs of small hands grab his free hand. Looking down he saw the young boys, all looking close to tears, Izuku actually crying. He sighed heavily, he really didn’t have any place to go and the hospital just wasn’t an option so he nodded, “Alright ma’am you win. I’m Might Guy by the way. Thanks for your help.” The woman smiled at him and said, “It’s no problem Might-san. I’m Inko Midoriya. It’s nice to meet you. Now let’s get going, my apartment isn’t far.”
It didn’t take long before the small group reached the Midoriya’s home. Izuku quickly opened the door for his mother as she helped Guy through and gently laid him stomach side down on the couch. Then Inko turned to the three boys and smiled. Before she could say anything Naruto came over to her, tears still in his eyes, “I-Is Guy sensei going to be ok?” Lee was beside Naruto, also worried, and asked, “Is there anything we can do to help?”
“How about you two tell me your names first?” Lee and Naruto introduced themselves to Inko. The woman smiled and said, “Those are nice names! How about you two help Izuku get the med kit from the bathroom?” The two boys smile and nod following Izuku to the bathroom. Inko then turned to Guy, “So… how on earth did you end up with these horrible burns? Did someone use their quirk on you?” Guy looked at Inko in confusion, “Quirk? Is that what your village calls Jutsus?”
Inko tilted her head in confusion, “Jutsus? Village? Are…are you from a small town? How did you get into the city?” Guy looked at her in confusion, just then the three boys came in with the kit, handing it to Inko. She thanked the children and quickly got to work on treating Guy’s wounds.
Izuku then asked the two other boys, “Who’s your favorite hero? Mine’s All Might!” The two boys looked at Izuku in confusion, then looked at each other, then started to think. “Hm… my favorite hero? I don’t really understand what you mean Izuku but I guess if I had to pick a favorite shinobi from our village I’d pick Guy Sensei!” Lee states pointing at the man lying on the couch. Naruto seemed to think about it a little longer and smiled pointing at Guy, “Bushy brows is right! I pick Guy Sensei too! He’s the one who saved us from those bad guys! The other ninja from our village didn’t do that.” Lee started to agree until he caught up to what Naruto called him. Lee then started chasing a laughing Naruto, yelling at him that that wasn’t his name and his eyebrows weren’t that bushy! Izuku quickly followed the two boys out of the room yelling that friends shouldn’t fight each other.
But the adults weren’t so joyful, with what Izuku said as a guide Guy started to ask Inko basic questions about the world that anyone would know. How many ninja nations are there? What are the three different types of Jutsus? What is the leader of the village called? Inko didn’t know any of the answers. With a look of dawning horror Inko started asking similar questions. When did children normally get their quirk? What is someone called when they have a hero License? What is the top hero school in Japan?
Guy didn’t know, and his face slowly matched Inko’s. He was in a completely different world, a world that had no connection to his own. “Well… now I just feel silly for not letting you take me to the hospital.” Guy joked trying to lighten the mood. Inko laughed, shaking her head, “It’s alright! I’m actually quite good at treating burns like this. My ex husband had a fire breath quirk. He would often come home with horrible burns from overusing it.” Guy looked confused slowly and carefully sitting up, “Ex? Why would any man in his right mind let a sweet beautiful woman like you go?”
Inko blushed and looked down smiling shyly, “You’re very kind, in all honesty I was the one who pushed for the divorce. He was so focused on being a hero that he was never home. I hardly ever saw him unless he was so badly injured he couldn’t work. Then I got pregnant and he got a better job offer in America. He wanted us to move there and raise our child together. But at that point I knew he would never change. So we broke up. I got full custody of Izuku and his father sends alimony and child support every month so I don’t have to work and can just focus on raising my son. Hisashi has never actually seen his son in person, only in pictures I send him, nor has he ever spoken to Izuku. He’s a good man and an amazing hero but he’s a horrible father.”
Guy felt his heart ache for the woman and her sweet little boy. How could any man just walk away from them!? Good man my ass! Any man who abandons his wife and child are the worst kinds of cowards! Guy thought angrily. Clearing his throat to keep his hatred for Hishashi out of his voice, Guy simply said, “Well, enough about him. I guess I have a lot of things to do to live in this new world. Especially since I have three boys to look after now. I definitely need to get Naruto and Lee into a good school. And I guess I’ll need to get one of these hero licenses since being a ninja I don’t have a lot of other skills but fighting.”
Inko looked up at Guy blushing slightly, “Did… did you say three boys?” Guy blinked then blushed brightly, “O-oh! I guess I did! S-sorry Inko… I just kinda added Izuku to the group. It's just… when I saw that little boy on that path, the way he came running up to me. A strange man he’s never met all because that man was hurt. I couldn’t help but see it.” Inko looked into Guy’s eyes a little suspiciously, “See what?”
Guy sighed, meeting her gaze, “There’s greatness in that boy Inko. His heart is as pure as gold, his kindness knows no bounds. Just look at how quickly he goes to stop Lee and Naruto from fighting. Even though he’s only four the kid’s got the makings of an amazing Shinobi. I want to help nurture that greatness. Just like I’ll do for Naruto and Lee. The three of them together will be an amazing trio. I think, no, I know that they’ll be the greatest heroes this world has ever seen. There’s no force on earth that can stop them from reaching greatness.” Inko started to smile as Guy spoke, feeling his love and care for the three boys.
“Then… in that case Guy, will you stay with us? I can help you navigate this world and it won’t be easy raising two young boys on your own! What do you say?” Before Guy could say anything three voices rang out in unison, “Say yes Guy Sensei!” The adults blink then turned to see the three boys smiling at them. Laughing Guy carefully stood up, going to the three boys and ruffling their hair. “Alright I will!” He smiled and looked back at Inko, “I happily accept your offer Inko. We’ll stay.”
Inko smiled and nodded, her smile growing even brighter as the three boys carefully, at Izuku’s insistence because of Guy’s injuries, hugged the man. Little did she know that this would change her world forever.
