Work Text:

It was a one rare lazy Sunday for Chae-ran and Ji-woong. Definitely rare because they practically lived in the editing room for 24/7, especially at the end of the year. Christmas was around the corner, which means all the in-charge staff need to get their work done before another task takes their peaceful and rare new year holiday. Snow has been falling pretty hard these days. A few days ago there was actually a snow storm which made every office ask their employees to work from home. Luckily, Ji-woong and Chae-ran have finished the documentary shoot and editing. If you wonder what kind of documentary they have been working on, you actually know the answer. A newlywed's life documentary of a couple, the same couple that had been shot in their high school days and the next 10 years.

Yes. It was Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-su. Who else? The newlyweds were working again with Ji-woong and Chae-ran for the second time as husband and wife, particularly showing their lovey-dovey life but still a childish couple… which actually makes the other two a little bit jealous.

But we were not talking about the documentary couple. If Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-su were in filming again with their changed status from enemy-to-lover and now a husband and wife, what about Jiwoong and Chaeran?

Kim Ji-woong and Jung Chae-ran.

A double power duo in SBC, specialized in documentary makings, Park Dong-Il's hoobaes, and… a newlywed couple too. After a chaotic proposal announcement on national TV, they have become everyone's main attraction. Well, actually Park Dong-Il has always been the loudest one since they announced they were engaged. Not to mention how he was also the one who had the hyperbolic tears of joy on their private wedding. After they officially became a husband and wife, Ji-woong decided to take Chae-ran to his house and let her run the house (and him) as the Queen. Strangely, they still kept doing the same act and sunbae-hoobae in their office, which frustrates their supporters. But anyway, they are not buying the public's attention for their private and innermost attention and attachments. They always kept themselves for their own and for their own eyes only.

Just like today, the snowy lazy sunday. Perfect day for cuddling and snuggling to every beloved couple out there. The single ones could step back a little bit and please do not whine, you got your own heated blanket to snuggle. Ji-woong and Chae-ran woke up a little bit too late since it was their free time together. It was 10 AM but the weather outside was still cloudy and snowy, pretty much more cuddles and snuggles demanded from Chae-ran to her icy cold husband but actually warm and hot at some particular times.

"Chaeran-ah." A wake-up melody from raspy morning voice to Jung Chae-ran only. Ji-woong's morning voice has been her favorite since the day they finally moved together.

"Hm"

"It's already late, honey. Don't you want to get up?"

"No. I like it here, warm and fluffy."

Ji-woong chuckled at his wife's remarks. They have always been the same, straightforward and little to none sugarcoating. But the funny fact is, even though everyone thought how straightforward they are, Kim Ji-woong and Jung Chae-ran were only flustered by each other's remarks. It was still fresh how Chae-ran confessed to Ji-woong in his car just because she didn't want to be exactly the same as him. And it left him flustered for the time being until he took revenge on her by announcing their marriage on national TV.

"Chaeran-ah, honey. I like it here also, but it's already 10 AM and I'm starving. You don't want me to eat you, right?"

"Ya!"

"Okay, now let's get this pretty lady to get up and let me get you a tasty toast and some hot chocolate"

"I want ramen"

"AT THIS TIME? AREN'T YOU TIRED"

"Spicy ramen with egg, PLEASE"

Mental note, they should blame Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-su for this. How dreadful a marriage can turn these two straight humans into two (finally) normal humans. Their reference of marriage life is pretty incredible though, not to mention Ung and Yeon-su are always the ones who provoked them into embarrassment.

"Okay, spicy ramen with egg, got it. C'mon let me help you to get up." Ji-woong pulled Chae-ran from bed and lifted her in bridal style to his living room. His house before he married Chae-ran was dead cold and it felt so lonely. The color and warmth was brought by Chae-ran after she moved here and nagging non stop how deadly the apartment was. Luckily, she got the good eye and sense to live up the house into their home. Photos from their wedding are hanging on the wall, some polaroids were pinned into a board on the wall. A photo from their secret getaway is put on the table beside the sofa, where Ji-woong kissed Chae-ran cheek while Chae-ran circled her hands onto Ji-woong's neck and they all smiled at the camera.

As Ji-woong was in the kitchen, Chae-ran scanned their living room and reminisced about their sacred moment together. Her eyes were falling into some unopened drawers under the TV, since they were both busy here and there. She reached the drawers and opened them one by one. The drawers are only filled by unused scripts and nonconfidential documents, except one. In one drawer, she found something strange which was actually a photo album. Ji-woong's old photo album from his childhood. It was covered in thin dust since it was never opened for the time being. Chae-ran opened the album carefully, scanned every photo. The photos were actually new to her, they were from Ji-woong's elementary days. She could see Ung's parents present in some photos, Ji-woong and Ung together, and Ji-woong's photos alone. Her fingertips traced the photos until she flipped one page which made her scream a little.

"Oh my god! Is this you, Sunbae? Aigoo, how did this cute kid become so big today?"

Chae-ran could not handle her excitement of seeing Ji-woong's old photo. It was Ji-woong's photo, taken by Ung's mother in his second year of elementary school. He was looking so tiny in his uniform, backpack on his back, holding a striped lunch box, matched with his beret hat in stripes. Ji-woong smiled widely in the photo and it looked like it was taken in front of the school's gate. There are also some photos of Ji-woong and Ung together, with the same pattern lunch boxes and striped beret hats.

"What did you find, honey?"

"An old album of yours. I didn't know it ended up locked in such a drawer. You should preserve this album, or at least display it in our home"

"Ah that album, I guess that's from Ung on our wedding day. I forgot to tell you hehe"

"How could you forget something so important? If I know this sooner, I would see you in cute tiny form"

"I am cute."

Chae-ran cringed at Ji-woong's remark but could not help laughing with him. She loves him as much as Ji-woong loves her in total form. They were like match-made in heaven, both attracted by gravity and unusual dimensional magic forces. They decided to know and understand each other step by step, slowly but surely since it was already a great effort to step into such a commitment together. But then, as the vow said by them, they will always love and be for each other in every dichotomy argument and conditions.

"Here's your spicy ramen and egg and french toast for me."

"Sunbae."

"I told you not to call me sunbae in home"

"Op-pa.."

Chae-ran is still practicing calling him oppa instead of sunbae. Sometimes she said while cringing at first but at other times she might call him 'oppa' unconsciously. Well, Ji-woong likes both, or anything sweet besides 'sunbae'. He had enough to hear them in the office.

"Ji-woong oppa."

"Yes, honey."

"I like you in these photos, you look so innocent, tiny, and cute. If only I could meet the younger version of you, I might've kidnapped you"

"Well, you already did. You kidnapped me into yours now"

Chae-ran laughs filled the air as soon as Ji-woong's cheesy pick up line was thrown. One of the sides of Kim Ji-woong that is being shown to Jung Chae-ran only.

"You know what, oppa. You looked so pure here, I might be in love with you if I was your classmate. You looked so happy here and smiled from ear to ear. I've never seen you this happy aside from our engagement, wedding, and our times together. You were such a tiny precious child."

"Is that so?"

And Ji-woong let out a wide smile again after listening to his wife's description.

"Yes. You were. But oh, actually not"

"So, I'm not a tiny precious child?"

"No, you are still a tiny precious child. MY tiny precious child and husband to be exact"

Chae-ran smiled and laughed after, followed by Ji-woong's flustered and blushed face. To Ji-woong, Chae-ran has always been his bundle of joy to his cold and icy life, bringing him a sunshine that he has been missing from his tragic childhood. The way she laughed and smiled eased the unseen burn from his mother's and his hard times. It's always Jung Chae-ran and will always be Jung Chae-ran for him. The same thing also goes to Chae-ran. She faced a lot of hard times in the past, but Ji-woong was always there supporting her in such invisible acts. Up until she finally said yes in the altar, she knew that Ji-woong is only for her and her eyes only. It is always Ji-woong that supports and lifts her up and always Kim Ji-woong.

Ji-woong's flustered face stayed for some moments until he got up and erased the distance between them. His one hand was already on the back of Chae-ran's head and finally reached down to her warm lips. The table has turned, it was now Chae-ran that was left flustered by a sudden kiss from her husband, but it didn't last long. She gave in and welcomed Ji-woong's plump lips onto her and smiled in their kiss. One or two minutes later, they finally looked into each other and giggled.

"Well, Jung Chae-ran. You might already hear this many times, in sober, in drunk, or when we're in bed but I love you so much"

Chae-ran cannot helped but giggled and finally said,

"Ya, Kim Ji-woong. You know that I love you and maybe more but this time you seem to be the one who is more loving me. And you need to be always this much. I love you too, Kim Ji-woong."

That lazy Sunday was perfect for them. Only for them two, opened some treasures that they would cherish together. Ji-woong finally got up, bringing Chae-ran with him and gave a final kiss on cheek before they went for their breakfast.

"Come, your ramen will get soggy and cold"

"Okay, oppa."

For the love of Jiwoong and Chaeran, and the devoted 10 worshippers of Jiwoong and Chaeran lmao. Started as a prompt from my 'tiny precious' (alah anjir) chaesongholic, and this is the result. Written in immediate but still devoted to Jiran's possible spin off time
