"Your cheeks are red, are you okay? Sick?" Mu Qing swats the hand that almost touched his cheek and turns his head away. Hiding it from the other's as a smile slowly etched into his face, no matter how much he tries to resist.
For one to quickly notice his love for his own mother in merely three years, Mu Qing was no longer sure if it was safe to be this so attached. Their distance from each other is so far, he fears everything will end. That the boy will no longer come and find him.
He fears he'll lose his only friend that observes him thoroughly. Not just see who he is as a poor child, with a criminal of a father and a poor seamstress of a mother, and quickly thinks he's such a monster of a person.
