Chapter Text
Tommy ran over to the community house, oblivious of the aching of his legs.
He stumbled backwards at the sight of it. It was destroyed.
The top of it was completely gone. 2 of the walls were only a block high, one completely destroyed, and the last split in 3. Water polluted with debris fell over the remains of the walls and poured onto the path.
Inside he could hear people yelling confusedly. Shouts about who did it, and how they would pay. But above them all Dream's cold voice stood. "Give me the discs Tubbo."
He couldn't make out what the reply was.
"Exactly. I know you can figure out who it was, and possibly already do. You wouldn't want me to burn them, would you?"
Tommy's eyes widened and he quickly climbed up the bricks on his side. "No, no, no! Listen- Yo- you can't."
Tubbo stared at him. Or well, his armour. "Tommy?" The quiver in his voice was apparent. "No, no it can't be. I'm just... I'm just hearing things again." Tears slipped down his face and he scrunched up his eyes. He began to tighten his fists.
"Tubbo, don't give him the disc."
"N-no you're... I'm just imagining things again. You're dead." Tubbo said with disbelief, obviously trying to convince himself of it.
"Fuck. Gimme, gimme a sec."
He downed the milk he had.
After the effects of the potion were gone he walked over.
"Hey big T."
He pulled his friend into a hug.
The only response was a muffled sob.
Tubbo pulled away. "It's really you, isn't it?"
Tommy just smiled.
"I thought you- I thought you died."
"Jumped into some water, was mainly to throw Dream off of me,"
"Did you do this then, Tommy?" Dream said with disbelief.
Tommy turned to glare at him. "Does this," He wildly waved his hand around to gesture at the building, or rather what was left of it. "Look like something I would do?"
The silence told him enough.
He turned around to face everyone. "You guys believe him?"
To his right a familiar voice spoke up. "Tommy. This, this is something you would do. It's what you did to get you exiled." Tubbo took a deep breath. "You are the only one who would destroy the servers oldest building, and hell, it makes sense. Dream watched over you in exile. You are the type of person to seek revenge. In fact, I honestly wouldn't be suprised if you did it just to get back at all of us. It's the one target that hurts everyone. "
"I- I know. But, you have to trust me." He pled.
"I want to. I really want to. But you've broken my trust so many times."
Tommy took a step back. At that moment he just felt rage. Rage that Tubbo would believe him.
"I've broken your trust? I've protected you. I've fought for you! And what did you do? You've exiled me. From the very country I lost my first two lives for."
"I never asked for you to fight for me. And I- I didn't have a choice in exiling you. It was either that, or make others pay drastically for your mistake." He paused. "No, no, wait! Mistakes!"
Tommy stared Tubbo in the eyes. He couldn't decide what was worse, the obvious pain, or the set look that meant he believed it with all his soul.
"Well if you didn't want to exile me, why did you never visit me? You didn't even come to my party!"
"I didn't know you had a party!"
"Bullshit." He spat. "You probably took one look at that card and burned it like you burned your compass."
"What? I didn't-" Tubbo shook his head. "Why don't you tell the truth for once instead of trying to turn people against me?"
Tommy scowled. "Fine. You wanna know the truth? I spent every goddamn day of that exile hoping, praying that you still cared for me. That you would eventually visit. Months, and no one. I barely knew Ranboo, yet he visited me. Some dude named Mexican Dream stuck around for one day, and he cared more than you did in that short time. Techno told me to die, and he cared more than you. Ya know what? I didn't mean to land in that water. I was convinced no one cared about me. I was convinced it was my time to die. I stared into the lava of the nether so many times, barely resisting jumping in. " He turned his eyes to Tubbo and gave him an angry stare. "Now whether you believe me or not, I didn't blow up the community house." He scoffed. "And honestly, it seems the only time you care about your best friend is when he dies. Go ahead and give Dream the discs. Burn them. Lock them in chest thousands of blocks away. Throw them in the void. I don't. Fucking. Care."
He began walking away before turning around.
"However useless they are to me, they are still worth more than out friendship."
