In the Amidst of Battle, my feelings for you are what I’m fighting.

Summary:

Another situation similar to USJ have striker down on UA, Class B and A are now Second years and not only is Class A involved with the League of Villains, it’s also Class B.

Ojirou finds himself alone again, until he is wrestled down by Kaibara who mistakes him as a villain. Kaibara is awfully blunt towards how he feels towards Mashirao and his class, and due to the Joint Battle Arc, Ojirou is rather still has a grudge against Kaibara’s style of fighting and approach.

Ojirou isn’t so good with fights without meaning, especially verbal ones. And Kaibara is the type who enjoys fights for the thrill, but is a bit insensitive when it comes to his words.

This leads them to the conflict of finding themselves by a villain who finds their little fights to be perfect. Leading them to be trapped together. Through panicking and bickering, they soon get out.

But, end up getting Kaibara hurt, which ends up somehow leading into a hangout with him and his friends.

Kaibara finds himself admiring for Ojirou and everyone except for him, thinks he has some sort of gig with him. He’s in denial.

Notes:

Long-burn, baby. I ended up making a SenOji because everyone I’ve seen has been smut and I know they have chemistry.

This is all pure slice of life with a side of a lot of tension.

I hope you like.

I don’t honestly know how I’m going to finish this and how human romantic feelings work, so if it’s inaccurate please don’t hate me for it, I’m more a romantic angst person, not a romantic fluffy person.

Chapter 1: Attacks.

Chapter Text

Attacks. Attacks are confusing, to say the least. The reasoning on why the League had been so obsessive over them was not apparent and why they kept on lurking almost. Especially when it wasn’t planned out as training, attacks within training were much more predictable than expected, it was more so it interrupted actual training which was granted that it would’ve been safer, proper, and adaptive to the user’s quirk. Mention how stressful and strainful on each student and heroes who’re involved, either what had been assumed for a peaceful training at a surrounding just to be ambushed by some villains which have no limits to their quirk and how they use it on each person around them.

It was getting rather obvious the league was accustomed and informed of some of 2-A’s quirk, and the basics of how they worked. 2-B on the other side, not so much - being trapped with some 2-B kids, especially if they weren’t the most cooperative was difficult. Obviously, the league had recruited new people, different types of quirks and separating them, same technique with the USJ, but obviously displayed in a more complex way and surrounding which was going to be harder than basic friendship and magic.

Obviously something that seemed to be frequent in their mere attempts to try survive not dying from another camp or even in general.

It was getting definitely constricting, choking on smokey air as the small heroes that were supervising all of the students, both classes, were desperately trying to make sure each student was safe but failing even so. Being placed in different districts. As faint screams or taunts came through but, was drowned out by the more clear bombarding amounts of villains coming through.

And then students were told to do as instructed and if any of them had disappeared, their main goal was to come within the same location to avoid any confusion and let the heroes deal with any students who were in trouble. But, the communication was cut off as soon as students were in different spaces with different classmates without any teacher to instruct them.

Lost.

Ojirou could only wish that he wasn’t going to be placed within a place that wasn’t suited with his quirk. The chilling thought of being trapped with main fire again alone was not the ideal dream, nor was any of this was his ideal training. Mashirao had actually expected for this to go smoothly, not like it ever did and it was rare when they’d stop from getting attacked.

It was truly stupid to think that considering he had been in the hero-course for 2 years now.

Time for himself where he’d actually be able to handle his quirk in more creative ways, sounded great, not like Aizawa had all the time in the world to help him in that aspect, especially considering his quirk was nothing more then a mutation and hard to adapt to the evolution of quirks. But, the mere thoughts of being more adaptive when it came to different situations.. was great but instead interrupted by villains who had nothing better to do other than mess with teenagers who are deemed as heroes in training. Was it a warning to each of them? Not to become a hero otherwise they’d have it much worse than now.

Right now, it was isolated. No sight of any class member of both 2-B and 2-A, alone once more. It was almost like it was going to be a recreation of the USJ. Just waiting for the excessive amounts of fire now. This was much more open scenery. Set in a forest but had different districts or parts with different biomes for each student and how challenging they wanted to go for. An example being Katsuki, if he wanted to experiment with his body regulated with much colder environments, he’d be supervised within the more winter-like landscapes.

The blond continued to wonder, thinking whether he should return to the middle or scout more of the area to make sure there were no villains that would suddenly attack. Mumbling underneath his breath as anxiety seemed to bubble and arise quite quickly as he was separated. If he were to encounter someone alone, it would be most likely they’d have more loose restrictions when it came to using their quirk, and while his quirk was very much more combat related, they may have been long distance. And better yet, it wasn’t like Mashirao looked very.. threatening. Ordinary. That’s what everyone said, it was a respective view but it was also tiring to hear when people would talk about him. Only if he was similar to Shoji. Although the taller male didn’t like being so intimidating and feared, it was useful and Mashirao could only dream to look more menacing in a way in these types of situations. And.. the point was that Ojirou could be known as someone who could be seen as a pushover, and he was aware of that.

The more thought put into the type of situation he was stuck in, he couldn’t have been alone, there were low chances that he would’ve been alone with both classes in account. Yes, the forest they were in was large but it also had sections that were pretty easy to navigate around. Ojirou had to find them, anyone.. it wouldn’t be good if any member from 2-B or his own class were suddenly attacked and having no one to help them recover or fight beside them

Class B wasn’t necessarily targeted, well to his information at least, other than the Forest Training Camp attack where most of them were either away or unconscious from the gas and ashes from the fire. Most of Class A on the other side was very much.. in a sticky situation when that had happened. Mashirao could almost still trace back the tension within the room when everyone had visited Izuku. Even that was too awkward for him to be comfortable with, and he had practically thrived off being awkward for a living basis, Ojirou had been through many experiences where awkwardness had out-ruled any other opinions in the room.

What was going to be smart?

That was top priority to figure out what to do.

If he continued to try to find others, he risked himself but then yet again, anyone else could’ve been hurt if they were alone. And out of all the chances, he was certain someone would’ve been here.

He had to be careful and not cause a louder scene even if he had to find someone. There was a possibility he would get ambushed by a group of villains and he was sure that his quirk wouldn’t be able to withstand that.

Mashirao continued to jog around the area, transporting himself for a better way to get around there quickly, using his tail to let himself grab higher heights to find someone, an advantage which is being in the forest, even if it wasn’t extreme heights. Getting around rather fast, still no sight of anyone, okay.. this was strange. It was a big space but their classes both weren’t so small.

His tail curled up, making sure it was going to prepare if anything had happened and if he needed to flee. Ojirou finally set himself on the ground.

Setting a few steps as he looked around. Cautiously.

Soon enough some steps started to get faster and louder— wait, what? Before he could turn around, he had been jumped onto from the side, it seemed the figure had been hiding and concealed their identity within the bushes.

Bastard-!

The other had yelled, being jumped onto startled Mashirao, before he was even able to process what was even happening, of course the thought of being attacked was there, but so soon?

The amount of force with the use of the quirk, spiraling into his skin, and mostly his back and tail, in addition to the surprising weight had made him hit the floor. Both of them had closed their eyes to avoid the dirt getting into their eyes. Ouch— Whoever was attacking him, was definitely aggressive and tackling him onto the ground.

Ojirou’s reflexes only panicked, too frantic on the fact he had been pushed down onto the floor to even consider who it was that had attacked him, for all he cared and could think about - it was most likely a villain. His tail had whipped them to the left, as he pushed him to the side. Blinking rapidly, thankful he had finally gotten them away as he pushed himself upwards to prompt himself to stand up. Oh. It was— that,, Spiral, his hero name was Spiral. But, he couldn’t seem to remember his name.

“What the hell?”

He said slight annoyance within his tone, his chest ached slightly, huffing as he tried to get the pain to exit his body, he was dusting himself off, stretching to relieve himself, the impact was sudden, okay, so he had found someone within this district, maybe there were some other people. “2-A classmate, not a villain.” He said to the brunette, who seemed slightly irritated by his movement of pushing him off of him. How strange.

 “I know.”

Kaibara had bluntly stated, looking away as he stood up, that statement was almost hard to believe, he was used to monotonous things and unexpressive things, yet again, maybe he was just bias against this guy.

“I was just making sure..”

He muttered, almost inaudibly, Kaibara didn’t like this at all, or more didn’t trust this at all. It was some stupid ambush on their training. But, yet again, on the positive side; he was able to pick a fight if he needed to, which he wanted to. Kaibara had to admit, he enjoyed fighting, it was a way to show your best through physical activity and it had also shown his more loud and competitive side.

Between the two, the first time they had interacted wasn’t the best. Nor was it the best impression. That being the joint-battle between the two classes, Kaibara had done a pretty good job at being extremely.. brutal within battle including with students, going all out.

Luckily, if it weren’t for Iida, Ojirou didn’t honestly know if he was going to be able to keep up the fight. If he had been honest, Mashirao was honestly rather.. nervous to be around Sen, having some nightmares of how much it hurt- or so, he didn’t want that same sensation on his chest again. He could tell the difference between training and genuine fighting but… Kaibara seemed like he was trying to kill him!

It was so confrontational when they had their fight, no time for a break, hell, Kaibara had played a realistic villain or more sadistic hero! Mashirao didn’t despise Kaibara or anything, nor did he like him in any sort of way. But, the brunette was.. hard to get along with, even if he hadn’t tried to talk to him, he didn’t think Kaibara would want to talk to him in the beginning.

Kaibara was blunt and unreactive in any positive and negative way. It was strange. Mashirao had understood Kaibara’s behavior within battle to a certain extent, but, either way, he was rather still afraid of the competitive nature.

Besides, he has to cope with his peers such as the rivalry between Todoroki, Bakugou and Midoriya. They regularly caused ruckus and it tiring to be alert for a flying thing towards your head, whether that be an explosion or a pillow.

So, it would be bad if he just judged Kaibara over some competitive training..

Notes:

Uhhh,, SenOji. Will probably get chapters out soon enough, like everyday, because I’m not going to starve people of this ship. Lolol.

I’ll probably edit this note later.
