Chapter Text
Cale knew that he would die himself. He looked at his children's, Raon, On and Hong. He saw Choi Han, he saw Alberu, he saw many people.
The war with the White Star was over, it seemed so long but it was finally over. His war with the Hunters was over. He got the slacker life he wanted, On and Hong became the successors to Molan the great assassin, he saw Choi Han become the strongest Sword Master, he could see Alberu become the King without hiding his true identity, he watched Raon grow up with his own eyes.
He was sure that everything would be fine when he left. Cale always gave education about human death to Raon and the young dragon who still didn't understand the human cycle.
Cale was calm being able to meet many people let alone Lee Soo Hyuk's reincarnation.
He met a lot but he also parted a lot. Like Ron, the Faithful butler beside him, Violan, the mother figure he loves and Deruth, the first father figure for him.
Cale knew he was leaving, therefore he wrote many letters, many books, for the future of his family especially Raon and Choi Han.
He closed his eyes, and he could feel death enveloping him.
Ah.
In his last thoughts, he forgot the gold coins to give to the childrens. It seemed he would only regret it in his last life.
He was sure he was at his death. Because Cale met the God of death before him this time. Still with a beautiful face sitting on a work chair. He sat in front of him like someone about to do a job interview.
A very strange way of meeting death.
"You die"
"Isn't that obvious? Are you finally blind now?"
"But you're just a transmigator,"
"I know it"
Cale could feel something bad was about to happen to him when he spoke to the god of death this time and how he was speaking in circles should mean something bad would happen.
He could see the god of death staring straight into his eyes with a serious look.
“You knew you were going to be reincarnated right?”
"Of course"
Cale was now annoyed that the god of death had always said the obvious thing from the start.
"But your soul still has remnants of the power of the World tree"
This time Cale couldn't help but frown, this time his feelings were certain that something bad would happen to him.
"You will once again be born with your memories and your abilities. But not with your ancient powers. It's impossible for you to carry because they are bound to the world"
It seems reasonable, when the owner of the ancient power dies, then the ancient power will return to the world where they will wait for other lucky humans to get their hands on them.
Cale only regretted that a little because the source of his strength came from the ancient power he possessed, it seemed that this time he would not be able to carry it.
"Can you tell me where I will be reincarnated?"
"No, I don't know where you will be. Maybe you will reincarnated on earth or even reincarnated in a world where there is no death god which means my power will not reach that world. But if you really end up in such a world, your soul is still bound me through the World Tree"
Cale absorbed all of the God of Death's words carefully. He might have a chance if he lived in a modern world like on earth, but if he ended up in a world like the Roan kingdom maybe he would curse the god of death many times in his new life.
"Now, prepare yourself, I will send you away now,"
Cale didn't need to answer him because before he could answer, his vision turned black.
He couldn't feel anything, he only saw emptiness, even he felt himself starting to feel empty to the very depths of him.
The darkness felt eternal. No sound, no touch, no taste. He does not feel sad, happy, suffering, angry, disappointed, and other feelings. He felt so empty.
He even began to lose his ability to think. He just floated among the darkness and waited.
He didn't know how long he had been in the dark. Finally he saw a speck of light.
The light grew bigger and he could feel warmth envelop him.
He opened his eyes, adjusting to the light around him, he smelled grapes and the smell of babies around him. When he could see clearly, he saw the ceiling of the room which looked luxurious.
'Ah... I was reborn under the house'
He looked around, he was in a crib made of wood and a spacious room filled with special baby items.
Now Cale was certain that he was reborn as a noble. Great. Cale wished that he had an older brother, so once again he would not be the leader.
When the door opened, he saw a man with long fiery red hair. With just one look Cale knew that he was his real father.
"Diluc"
His father called out a name, Diluc. His new name. With a warm smile. His eyes glazed over as he looked at him.
It seemed that it was time for him to abandon Cale Henituse's name and take hold of Diluc's name as his new name and identity.
Cale could feel the warmth of the man—his father, as he carried in his arms. And Cale was once again lost in dreams, carried away by the strains of his father's warmth.
