Hal couldn’t help but frown as the gathering of heroes bypassed him in silence, glares directed at their former teammate turned Regime-aider. “I know I don’t deserve to be upset,” he muttered to the Speedster next to him, who was busy averting his gaze to the floor for the exact same reason. “But it still stings to be so disregarded.”
Barry glanced at him from the corner of his eye. “Can you blame them?” he asked. “We helped Clark. You don’t really think they’d just welcome us back with open arms after all we did.”
“You say that like you actually murdered people,” Hal said lowly, gazing at his hands that still seemed to be stained crimson no matter how many times he washed them clean. “You just rounded people up, Barry.”
