All Might placed his precious, frozen bundle down gently on the living area's longest couch.
Izuku sent the main a faint grin as he shivered, clutching the quilt tighter around himself.
"I'm okay," he assured the hero, his chattering teeth only slightly belying that.
All Might returned the soft smile. "I know." Pride shone in his eyes. "That was a very brave thing you did, Midoriya-kun. Perilous, but brave."
"Will the police need me to give a statement?" the boy asked, his wide green eyes scrunching up in concern.
The older hero waved him off. "I will handle things," he said, already pulling out his phone. "Just try to keep warm."
"Okay," the boy agreed, curling up tighter, pulling his knees up towards his chest and shivering.
He patted Izuku's blanket-covered shoulder, lifting the phone and noting with a frown how many missed calls and text alerts he'd gotten. He supposed he shouldn't complain.
He scrolled through his contacts until he reached the number for the most frequent missed call, and hit the button. He raised it to his ear, turning his back briefly on his young charge.
After a couple rings the line picked up.
"Hello?" came the voice on the other end, anxious and worried.
"Tamakawa-san," All Might acknowledged, pacing away a bit from the couch. In the corner of his eye he noted the other members of class 1A beginning to peek out of their rooms, make their way curiously out. He listened to the voice on the other end, responding when prompted. "Yes, I was there," he said. "No, it wasn't too difficult at all. Your standard 'bomb the city' threat." He let the officer talk for a moment. "Not sure, but he seemed serious." All Might paid a glance towards Izuku, noting that the other members of 1A were clustered around him now, asking probing questions. "No, no the only complication came when he tossed the trigger device into the river," he assured the man. "Fortunately young Midoriya-san was on hand and jumped in to get it." There was an alarmed reply to that and All Might raised his hand to gesture as he hurried to make assurances. "He's all right. A bit cold, maybe some mild hypothermia. He's safe though, warming back up okay."
A slight slice of guilt traced through him, as he remembered his protege leaping without hesitation over the railing, breaking the frozen ice with his boots.

Gasping from the shock, Izuku's head broke the surface, looking up at him. All Might was fully prepared to order him back out, make him forget the trigger, forget his heroics, but the earnest smile the boy sent him gave him pause.
"I got it!" Izuku assured him. "Don't worry! I won't let it go off!"
All Might hesitated at the railing, deep concern and worry warring within him, jostling with his righteous indignation at the petty bastard trying to blow up the city block, but his surrogate son was was already slicing his arms through the frigid water, swimming quickly through the cold current after the trigger device.
He focused his attention on the bomb's creator, dealing with him quickly, making sure he was fully incapacitated and useless before frantically returning to the railing to look down at the river.
Izuku took a worryingly long time to resurface, but burst from the ice and water with a sharp gasp, the trigger held up in his right hand triumphantly, already deactivated.
His pride and admiration gave way quickly to worry as Izuku sank back beneath the frozen channel, forcing him to run along the street to find an access point to fish the boy out.
Izuku was shivering hard as All Might finally pulled him from the water, blue in the face and curled up tight around the trigger. All Might had to pry it from his hands before crushing it in his fist.
He pressed the boy tightly to his side to warm him as he called in the police to clean up.

The cold hadn't bothered him, it hadn't for a long time, but All Might had wasted no time getting Izuku back to the warm dormitories. Winters could be harsh in their city. He wasn't risking the inheritor of One For All to simple cold shock.
He was beginning to wonder, as he answered questions from Tamakawa, if the blanket around his charge was sufficient.
When he looked back, though, it seemed the other students had things well in hand. Yaoyorozu had already made an additional blanket with her powers and was busy wrapping it around him with Uraraka's help. The younger girl was fretting over Izuku like an anxious mother hen, pressing her hand to his forehead and checking his pulse like an experienced medic. Todoroki vanished for a moment and then reappeared, hauling the weighted blanket he slept with.
Izuku tried to protest—All Might could see the hand that he put up to ward the others off—but it had no effect, he was swiftly buried under the multiple blankets against his will and objections, everyone continuing to crowd in close and press him for the story.
All Might smiled a little as he continued his phone call, giving as many details as he could. Tamakawa signed off eventually, satisfied with his report. He pulled the phone away from his ear and clicked it off. He scrolled down to the next more frequent missed call and checked in there, raising the phone again.
By now Izuku had multiple concerned caretakers looking over him. He was draped in quilts; Uraraka was now tucking the hems under his chin to make sure he was cocooned, brushing a hand through his bangs with such tender affection it made the old hero's heart warm.
It beat with more than a hint of concern as a handful of wood was dumped in front of Izuku by Bakugou, who proceeded to ignite the pile with a harsh explosion of his powers.
Everyone startled, jumping back from the blaze as it surged up and subsided.
"Don't freeze, idiot!" the pyro scolded.
Several awkward assurances emanated from the pile of wool and cotton that was Midoriya and All Might quickly signed off from his phone call to deal with the small blaze in the middle of the living area floor.
