No More Whiskey

Summary:

Hope is getting sick of Alaric’s shit. So she decides to deal with him. For once and for all.

Or

Hope kills Alaric. That’s it.

Work Text:

There’s a quiet thud as the body hits the ground and Hope grins. It’s time to set this all up.

She grabs a leg and starts dragging the body towards the headmasters office.

She can’t believe she did this. Actually, she can. She remembers the minute she confronted the man, how he noticed something was odd with the tribrid.

“Hope? What brings you here?” Alaric asks, clearly surprised one of his students is at a bar.

“I’m here to take care of your sorry excuse of a person.” She muttered. Before he could say anything she yanked the man away from the bar, not bothering to care whether or not he had paid for his tab.

She practically dragged the former vampire hunter by the shirt outside onto the gravel, under of the dim lighting of the alley.

“Hope? The cars the other way?” He says as he stumbles along.

She snarls abruptly shoving him against of the brick wall of the alley, hearing the gravel skid under his feet and a thump as he hits the wall.

“I’m fully aware. But I’m not here to drive you back to the school.” She says as her eyes glow.

“Then where are you taking me?“ Alaric asks point blank confused.

Hope has to hold back as she smells the stagnant alcohol from his breath.

“Im getting rid of you.” The tribrid puts simply.

And this is when the man finally seems to understand what’s actually happening. He seems to attempt to protest, perhaps give a speech about how this isn’t her, but before he can, a sharp crack rings out as Hope punches him straight across the jaw, probably fracturing it.

A loud cry of pain pierces the air as he holds his face before looking at Hope.

Hope scowls. This isn’t fun.

No, it’s missing something.

With a frown, the tribrid whispers ‘Ad Sonum’ and he collapses hitting the gravel with a thud.

With a wicked grin, Hope picks him up by the leg and drags him back to the school.

She had figured out what had been missing. She wanted Alaric to put up a bit of a fight. So she took him to the armory, where she tossed him in and mumbled a healing spell before saying a quiet ‘surgere.’

Immediately the man woke up looking around wildly until he met Hopes gaze and recognized his surroundings and gave Hope a questioned look as he slowly stood up.

“I’m not a complete monster.” She said smirking.

“Decided to make it a fair fight. Here.” She said before kicking him his famed crossbow, it skidding across the cement ground to him.

“Hope, we can talk about this.” Alaric said, pleading with the tribrid and she snarled her eyes glowing bright gold.

“Talk? Now you want to talk?” The tribrid all but spat.

“Alright, let’s talk.” She said circling him like a predator circling its prey.

“You constantly drink, openly joke about your alcoholism, you practically have abandoned your daughters, to the point where they believe you would betray them in an alternate universe.” Hope said feeling the blood boil in her bones. Abruptly the Tribrid surged forward and a loud crack could be heard as she kicked his leg in. Alaric let out a loud yell of pain falling to his knees as Hope went back to circling him.

“You’ve locked fucking kids in a prison world! Not just any prison world, but a prison world with your maniac brother in law.” She counted out before rushing forward and let her claws slash into his back from behind as he let out another cry of pain.

“When you did, you didn’t even consider anything, and you never visited them. Or tried to properly help them.”

Hope could feel her fangs poking out as her venom leaked down, feeling the bitter taste in her mouth.

“And lastly? You consider your own students… monsters. Your own students, who you’re supposed to be protecting.”

Using her vampire speed, she rushed forward and snapped his other knee backwards, ignoring as he let out a pained shriek.

“Hope! Hope! I get it, you’re hurt! Let me help!” He pleaded.

His pleas fell on deaf ears.

“Oh, what are you going to do? Lock me up in a prison world?” She snapped back her voice filled with venom.

She rushed forward, but at this he grabbed his crossbow and shot Hope in the shoulder.

Hope faltered in her spot as she glared at Alaric, promptly yanking out the arrow and snapping it in half.

“Really?” She says coldly.

“Yes, really! Hope, imagine it from my perspective! I lost my wife—“

She scoffed.

“I lost both my parents and it’s my own damn fault. I didn’t turn to drinking and abandoning my friends.” She spat out.

“Well you—“

“Yeah, I had a bad grieving period, I didn’t have friends for a few years. I didn’t fucking lock kids in a prison world. You say you fight for us Alaric, but in truth you’ve only fought against us. You just consider us all monsters.” She hissed out lunging forward kicking the crossbow out of his hands, instead it hit him in the face and fell out of his grip.

She smirked as he rubbed his face and then Hope tossed him a few daggers.

Once again he gave her a questioning look.

“I’m trying to play fair. Now, come on, Alaric. Give me a fight.” She said before muttering a spell, putting his legs back in their proper position and healing his back.

“Hope, I don’t want to hurt you, you’re like a daughter—“

Wrong words. The tribrid roared, using her vampire speed to shove him against the wall harshly.

“Don’t you dare try to play disappointed dad. You abandoned your own kids. You could’ve done so much better. All you ever think of me is my father’s daughter. A monster. Isn’t that what you said right before I died?” She said angrily her fangs growing.

Alaric frowned and stabbed Hope in the stomach but the tribrid didn’t even flinch.

“Go ahead.” She said calmly.

“I don’t want to hurt you. And you shouldn’t want to hurt me either.” He said. “No wonder I consider you kids monster.” Hope snarled going into bite him when he raised his hand and grabbed the other dagger stabbing her collarbone and dragged it along before kicking Hope away as she stood stunned.

She rolled her eyes as she pulled the daggers out and dropped them.

But before she could make another move, Alaric had grabbed something and drove it into Hopes stomach, going all the way through.

Hope sputtered out as she looked down to see a sword.

“You’ve forced my hand.” He said before twisting it and she felt her organs move.

Hope snarled and used her vampire speed to yank his hands away and snap them back, pinning him against the wall and sank her fangs into his neck.

He let out a cry, as she essentially drank him dry, using her werewolf venom to inject it into his system.

With that Hope threw him to the ground and yanked out the sword out of her stomach tossing it aside as she slid against the wall.

She would be fine.

As for Alaric? He was looking pretty dead.
