"Saiiihaaaara-chan! Saaaaiharaa-chaaan~" Ouma's voice echoed through the empty library as he made his way through the book sections looking for his beloved detective.
And Shuichi was there, eyes wide as he read a thick book full of footnotes on what seemed to be some forgotten field of psychology; He didn't respond when Ouma called him in the most cloying way possible, instead choosing to ignore him (hopefully, Kokichi would annoy someone else.)
It wasn't his lucky day.
"Saihara-chan is so mean!" Kokichi cried audibly as he threw himself at the other teenager, who only sighed as he listened to him. "I love Saihara-chan so much but he doesn't care about me! You are cruel, Saihara-chan!"
Shuichi felt his head starting to ache.
"Ouma-kun, please be quiet," He ordered "We're in a library."
Kokichi's tears stopped immediately, he smiled like a demon and sat down next to Shuichi, too close for Saihara's comfort.
"Saihara-chan, what are you doing here all alone?! Don't tell me you finally realized that I'm better than that moron Kaito?! I knew you would come to me, my love~"
"Stop talking bad about him..." Shuichi grumbled. "What do you want? I'm busy today."
"I just wanted to see if you're okay, beloved!" Kokichi laughed as he put his arms around Shuichi, supporting his body against the other boy's body. "I was so sad without my favorite detective!" He whined. "Don't ever leave me again, Saihara-chan!"
Shuichi sighed, Ouma never wanted to see him without some reason, there was always something or someone.
"What do you want?"
"Gee, Saihara-chan, you're no fun at all!" Kokichi snorted as he squeezed him even harder. "Wu just wanted to see your pretty little face~"
Shuichi smiled. "You've seen it already, you can leave."
"You're so cold to me!" Kokichi bellowed again, his tears wetting Shuichi's entire shoulder.
"Come on, stop crying and tell me what happened..." Shuichi patted Ouma's shoulder a few times before hearing him sniffle.
"If I disappear, will you look for me?" Kokichi inquired, his voice sounding so empty and slow that Shuichi was confused for a few seconds.
Oh.
"I will." He answered almost immediately. "There is no place on this earth where I would not try to find you, Ouma-kun"
"Thank you, Saihara-chan~!" Kokichi laughed happily, grabbing Shuichi like an octopus. "I know you would look for me, I'm so genial and beautiful! You are surely in love with me as well!"
Shuichi smiled again. "I am."
"Don't worry, beloved, I would look for you too."
Shuichi smiled, but didn't say a word.
