Thunder

Summary:

Tony chuckled softly and let go of his hand, putting his arm around him and rubbing his back. “It’ll be okay. It’s Thor; he’ll be ecstatic and pull you into some bone-crushing hug or something.”

“As if I need anything else broken.” Loki snorted a little.

“No, but again, this is your brother, who didn’t precisely morn your loss very well,” Tony replied, making a face as he rested his head on the other male’s shoulder.

“So you’ve said,” Loki replied, humming a little. “I can’t believe he’s been off in space this whole time; then again, I suppose he had to do something.” He smiled.

Notes:

I'm a little happier with this one, but again, the ending is probably crap.

Well, hope you enjoy it.

Work Text:

Thor stared out the window of Benatar as the Earth slowly but surely came into view. It had been a while since the god of thunder had stepped foot on the planet, and if he were being honest, he missed the Earth that he had made quite a few friends on.

Though, he had to admit, going on all these adventures with The Guardians like they did, was pretty interesting. Not to mention, making amends with Quill wasn’t too hard either. Aside from the figurative pissing contest they had done initially, things had improved between the two, and they had become something akin to close friends once they got along better.

They grew a little closer and eventually became more than just friends as time went on. But, again, it was something that just happened out of the blue, and while the two of them had only ever been with women before they got together, it wasn’t that bad. If Thor were being honest, sexuality wasn’t something he had put much thought into.

He liked who he liked, and that was all there was to it.

Speaking of, Quill was currently in the front seat, bopping along to the music that was now playing. Of course, it was one he had heard more than most of the other songs. But then again, Thor hadn’t listened to much music till the god of thunder started traveling around with these guys, and Quill’s mixtape always played when they were flying around the expanse of space. But, he had to admit, the melodies were rather catchy, and it was nice to listen to Quill sing along.

“Hm…glad to be back on Earth?” Quill asked, breaking Thor from the thoughts he had been stuck in for the past few minutes.

“Yes, it’s been a while.” Thor smiled, looking at the other man. “It’ll be nice to see everyone again in New Asgard, and I’ll introduce you to my friends.”

“I am Groot….” Groot could be heard in the back, and Rocket chuckled a little.

“Agreed, buddy.”

Thor chose to ignore their remarks and smiled as he looked back at the Earth, which was getting closer and closer.

“I think Strange said he would be there and that he had something he thought you would be interested in,” Quill said after a moment of comfortable silence aside from the music that was still playing, the song switching to a completely different one once it ended.

He turned to Quill with a questioning look, and the other just shrugged. “He didn’t tell me exactly, just said he had something you might like.”

“Is that all he said?” Thor asked, curiosity getting the best of him, wondering what the sorcerer had to say to him or what he had that Thor needed.

“All he said was that the next time we were in the quadrant, to let him know and that he had something for you,” Quill said and put one leg over the other.

The god of thunder supposed he should do his best to stay patient; at least he would be back on the planet in a few minutes, and Stephan could tell him what he needed to say. But, unfortunately, he supposed he would have to wait till they reached their destination to know what this was about and be patient.

“Nervous?” Tony asked for what seemed like the millionth time since they arrived at New Asgard and took to staying in a room in one of the Inns. A small huff escaped the other as he looked at him and flicked his nose before leaning against him and taking his hand in his own, giving it a little squeeze.

“You could say that.” He replied.

Tony rubbed his face with his free hand and chuckled a little. “Geez…babe, you could just say to quit asking.” He said and kissed his cheek.

“You are getting on my nerves, Stark.” The god of mischief stated, not daring to look at the other man for the moment, staying silent for a second before deciding to speak. “Of course, I’m nervous; the last time my brother saw me, I was getting my neck snapped by Thanos…if that projection at the TVA was anything to go by.”

Tony gave a sound of confirmation before letting him go. “Welp, what would you say to getting some grub? because I sure am feeling a little hungry from the trip here.” He said as he got up from the bed.

“I am feeling rather famished..” Loki admitted as he stood and followed the other into the kitchen, stopping when he heard a knock at the door of the room they were staying in. suddenly, the nervousness he had been feeling made its way to the surface further. Tony patted his shoulder before answering the door, seeing Strange and Thor waiting behind it.

Thor stood in the entrance in silence as he took in what was before him, seeing not just his brother, who should be dead, but Tony Stark as well. “Wizard is this-“ He couldn’t finish the sentence, unsure of how to proceed at this very moment. He didn’t want the other to even answer for fear he may be just hallucinating or something.

“It’s real.” Strange replied. “Though, I suppose you should hear how that came to be if you want to know how the both of them are standing before you.” He said, motioning for Thor to enter, which he did, and tackled Loki with a tight hug.

“Ah! You big oaf!” Loki yelled in surprise, a couple of tears leaving his eyes before returning the hug.

They stayed like that for a moment before Thor eventually pulled away and placed his hands on Loki’s shoulders. “How is this possible, brother?”

Loki sighed and led him into the kitchen. “Come, we were just about to eat; I’ll tell you over lunch…invite your crewmate if you want.” He said, noticing Quill in the doorway.

Thor glanced back and smiled before turning his attention back to his brother. “Actually, we are together.”

“Oh.” Loki smiled. “As are Anthony and me.” He said, and Tony smiled as he got to make everyone lunch while Loki explained how he was alive and how Tony had come back from the dead Thor listened intently, so glad to have his brother back.
