Daniel’s hands lingered on Connor’s waist, not wanting to let go. He leaned against the other and whined in protest as he tried to pull away.
“Danny, I have to go.” A gentle firmness backed the brunette’s words.
Daniel pouted in return. “At least give me my kiss…”
“Of course.” Connor softened a bit as he spoke and placed a finger under Daniel’s chin.
The blond took the cue to look at his lover and purse his lips, the other giving a soft chuckle before pressing his own against them. Connor let the kiss linger a moment longer than usual to hopefully appease the other. However, Daniel still whined as his lover pulled away, holding tighter to him to keep him from leaving.
“Daniel…” The name was said in a soft warning tone.
The other was silent for a moment before speaking, voice small and hopeful, “One more kiss..?”
Connor glanced at the time as sighed. “A quick one. I really have to leave.”
Daniel didn’t waste time. He didn’t even give Connor a chance to say more as he surged forward and kissed him with a passion that begged him to stay.
It took a moment for Connor to kiss back, as if he were overwhelmed by the intensity set by the other. He let this kiss linger too before pulling away, softly panting.
Seeing the begging look in the blond’s eyes, he spoke before the other had a chance. “That’s it Danny. I have to go.” He started gently prying his lover’s hands off of his body and took them in his own. “I’d love to stay as much as you want me to, but I can’t be any later.” He pressed a kiss to the other’s knuckles and moved his hands to cup his face. “Go back to bed. I’ll be back before you know it.”
“But-“
Connor cut Daniel off with a quick retort. “ But I know you were extra comfortable snuggled up to me this morning, but I have to go to work. I can’t just call out because you want to cuddle.”
A hopeful spark seemed to flash in Daniel’s eyes and Connor quickly shut the idea down. “I’m not calling out, Daniel.” His voice was light and playful as he spoke again, “Go put on my shirt and snuggle with my pillow. I’ll be home this afternoon. Goodbye.”
With that, he pressed a quick kiss to Daniel’s lips and separated before the other could protest.
Daniel watched as Connor slipped out the door and huffed as he heard it click locked behind him. It wasn’t his fault that the bed had been extra warm and comfy this morning… He just wanted five more- ten more- fifteen- Okay, yeah, maybe he would have loved to spend all day snuggled up against his boyfriend in the cozy comfort of their shared bed. His body wrapped around Connor’s… The soft sheets… It all sounded so nice.
With a sigh he headed back to the bedroom and picked up the gray t-shirt from where it lay folded on the corner of the bed. He only thought about it for a second before slipping the garment on and climbing back in the covers. He laid in his spot for a moment before his eyes wandered to Connor’s pillow. He knew everything the other had said had been teasing but it really was tempting. Hell, he was already wearing his shirt, how much weirder could this be?
Daniel grabbed the pillow and hugged it close, nuzzling his face against it until he found a comfortable position. Before he knew it, he was out again, blissfully snoozing the next few hours away as he waited for his beloved to return.
