“But Fourrrrr, you promised!” X whined as he held a death grip on the host's hand while giving pleading eyes. “Yea but the Cake at Sta-“ Four tried to explain desperately as the contestants were gathered and waiting. “You promised me Four!” X sounded like he was about to cry making Four cave easier than he normally would have. The blue number sighed and tightened his grip on X’s hand “Fine…”
The contestants were all sitting in a circle in the grass wondering where their hosts were, “Where could they be? Cake at Stake should have started by now,” Lollipop commented as she looked around for said hosts. In that instant Four and X appeared out of thin air in the middle of the circle still holding hands but also holding a slightly disheveled light yellow cake with orange decorations, “It’s time for Cake at Stake!” Four shouted. After everyone recomposed themselves from the jump scare. Lollipop mumbled to herself, “Well I guess that answers that.”
“Alright, everyone! We got a total of 15,847 votes! The first contestant safe i-” Four tried to hurriedly say but was cut off by Leafy, “Uhhh Four, not to be intrusive but why are you and X holding hands?” She pointed to the connected hands poorly trying to be hidden behind the cake, “Oh! Um-” Four was once again interrupted but by X this time who could see the other hosts nervousness, “The first contestant safe is Bubble with 5,867 votes! Here is a piece of Banana cake!” X broke off a perfect slice and tossed it at Bubble, “Yawy!”
Four awkwardly cleared his throat and took over getting a supportive hand squeeze from X making him blush a bit, “The next contestant safe with 3,867 is Lollipop!” Four tossed a slice at Lolipop who was smiling smugly at the hosts making him nervous. “Leafy and Gelatin are also safe with 2,458 votes and 1,953 votes respectively!” X chimed in tossing them both their cake but Four caught a smirk on Geliten’s face and Leafy still staring at his and X’s intertwined hands intently.
The stress was kind of getting to Four but he made a promise to X! He just had to announce who was eliminated and send the other contestants on to their challenge and he’d be fine. “The final two are Ruby and Teardrop,” he began, “and Teardrop is…eliminated with only 812 votes meaning Ruby is safe with 890 votes.”
Teardrop waved goodbye as she was teleported up and away. Everyone waved back but had blank and slightly confused expressions and were all thinking the same thing, “What is up with Four and X?”
“Uh, Four?” Ruby started but X quickly interjected, “This week's challenge is to repot all my aloe vera! They need to come inside now. Have Nots you get one side of the garden Have Cots have the other! But be careful, they can be kind of slippery! And g-” “X!” Gelatin shouted.
Lollipop took over, “Why are you and Four holding hands and why are you running most of the show? Did Four lose a bet?” she teased. “No! Uh me and Four…uh” X didn’t know what to say, he didn’t think the contestants would be this interested in them holding hands and started to feel bad. He was only trying to help because he knew Four was a bit nervous but it seemed to make it worse making him feel worse. X slowly removed his hand from Fours but it was quickly grabbed back by the number, “X asked me to be more affectionate so we are holding hands while we host, i̸̞̺͕̍̊͝s̷̩̩͋̓͝ ̷̰̹͛t̶͍͎̝̊̑h̵͎̤ê̵̹̈͐r̶̜͛ė̶̝̠̦ ̵͔̜͛͝a̵̗͉͖̿̂ ̷̙͉̄p̸͎͎ͅr̷̟͂̍o̷̫͝ḃ̶̘͍̘̌l̷̨̲̟̄̐̑e̵͖̪̖͐͗m̷͖͉͊̈͛ ̷̺̱́̾w̷͖̓͋͛i̵̮̽͂t̴̩̥̍͝ḧ̸̟́ ̶̱̤̾͒̀t̷̡̟̞͒h̸͓͎͓́̈́͝ȁ̶̟t̵͙̟̣͑̃?̶̲̼͈̊̌̇” Four stated matter of factly then stared with black eyes and an evil smile, they could poke fun at him, somewhat, but as soon as X was upset all hell would break loose.
“Oh no! Of course not! We just thought it was sweet,” Lollipop tried to backtrack but was also being genuine, seeing the hosts have a softer side was jarring but a really nice and welcomed switch. “Okay good! Now go :D” Four announced, all chipper!
As the contestants fought with the aloe vera to repot it X and Four walked off not too far but far enough to not be in the shot, “Thanks Four, sorry it went so bad, I didn’t think anyone would notice,” X apologized. Four smiled, “It’s fine, as long as you give me a kiss to make up for it uwu,” he responded sweetly. X blushed, “Of course!” he giggled as he leaned up and kissed his partner who eagerly returned it.
“Awwwwwwww,” a sound broke out behind Four and he whipped around to find all the contestants watching, “Wha- HEY! Get back to the challenge!!” He demanded as he zapped a few of the already repotted aloes to make them tip over and run away, “Hey! That’s cheating Four!” Leafy scolded. That’s what they get for being so nosey.
