“I swear he’s done this on purpose.”
Glancing over at his husband, Hizashi frowns. The school day had just let out and the two of them were spending time together in the Teacher’s Lounge grading before Shouta took Hitoshi out for training and he went to pick up Eri from where Mirio was watching her (the boy was a lifesaver really. Hizashi feels for him and hopes he’ll be able to get back to his classes soon but it is nice to have someone readily available to watch Eri when they need it). They’d been working in silence until Shouta broke it, Hizashi struggling through his student’s essays as he drank a shit cup of coffee from the nearby coffee machine. “What?”
“Hitoshi,” Shouta expanded unhelpfully, “he’s been hanging out with Kaminari.”
“Oh!” Hizashi had noticed that too. Now that Hitoshi was part of Class 1-A he’d been slowly getting closer to his fellow classmates. Midoriya wasn’t a surprise after the Sports Festival and his little group of friends were obviously close to follow but Kaminari had seemingly come out of nowhere. The blond had a habit of annoying his classmates (particularly Bakugou) but he seemed strangerly persistent about forming a friendship with Hitoshi and it must have payed off considering how much time they’d been spending together as of late. “You know, they kind of remind me of us at that age.”
“I know. That’s the problem. I made the no loud blonds rule for a reason!”
Rolling his eyes, Hizashi took another cup of his coffee and resisted the urge to pull a face at the bitter taste. He’d always prefer something with far more sugar but it was hard to get when he had so little time and so much to do. “I told you the rule was dumb the second you made it. Besides, Kaminari is a good kid. You can tell he cares about Hitoshi.”
Shouta nods but he still doesn’t seem very happy about the arrangement. Hizashi knows his husband though and he can see the irritation is coming from a place of care. They know exactly how hard it is to date a Pro-hero where every shift could be their last and every phone call may be informing them of something awful. Hizashi wants to protect his son just as much as Shouta but… well, he also knows the kid needs his freedom. Besides, there really were worse choices then Kaminari in terms of loud blonds. “You know it could have been Bakugou or Monoma.”
A loud groan came in return.
