It started with Kagi lacing his fingers shyly with his, his palm sweaty from nervousness. Had Hirano been in his proper mind, he would've teased him about it already.
Instead, he let it happen. Let Kagi squeeze their hands just before the timer ends.
He let it happen, just as what he always does when it comes to his roommate -- always indulging. Always giving.
Soon enough, those hands travel to Hirano's face, caressing his cheek tenderly. This time, he laughs at how red Kagi's cheeks are from the contact.
"You poked my cheeks numerous times already, Kagi-kun!"
"But this is different, Hirano-san." Kagi pouts. "I'm pouring my love out for you this time."
Hirano turns silent at that. He doesn't even get the chance to tease back because his timer beeps already.
Soon enough, he starts regretting the ten second compromise. Ten seconds was a lot before. Now, it feels too short.
He starts wanting for more.
More of Kagi's hesitant yet firm touches.
More of Kagi's perpetually reddened cheeks.
More of Kagi's eyes boring into his -- a point of contact that seems to convey more than what their skinship could ever hold.
More. More.
Time.
Goddammit.
Ten seconds is not enough. It's no longer enough. He wants Kagi's hand to linger for a bit more.
Maybe tomorrow Hirano can ask for ten more seconds. He knows Kagi will be more than happy to oblige. He probably would even ask if Hirano has finally fallen for him and is why he's asking for an extension.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
He doesn’t know.
Aaargh!
But…
He will endure Kagi's teasing, if it would mean Hirano will see his smile even for just ten seconds.
Or more.
