Starscream continued to stand there, arms crossed and a devilish grin on his face. Windblade….She stood there, a blush on her face and her optics averted, trying to find something else to look at rather than the mech so close in her personal space that their chassis were almost touching.
“You want to go on that silly ride, don’t you?”
Her blush only grew. “I do not.”
“You do too. You wouldn’t be looking at it every time we walked past it if you didn’t want to go on it.” The amusement in his field only seemed to grow each time she tried to shoot down the idea.
Her wings twitched as he pressed a bit closer to her. His folded arms now touched her chassis. Her faceplates were so hot that it felt like she might actually start frying circuits!
“I told you I don’t want to and I meant it, Starscream!” Coolant began prickling in the corners of her optics and that changed the seekers entire demeanor.
“Hey, alright. Sheesh…Let’s just go do something else.”
A servo quickly wrapped around her own, tugging her along. Her helm turned to look at the seeker walking in front of her, or well, pulling her along. Had she upset him?
Windblade blinked, using her free arm to wipe away the tears that had begun to trail down her faceplates.
They were at a somewhat newly constructed amusement park. Their race had taken the idea from Earth’s culture when so many seemed to show interest in it. There were many different types of rides as well as games to play where you could win prizes. Not to mention there were many delicious Cybertronian treats!
Windblade had been wanting to come here since the park had opened. Starscream on the other hand didn’t seem to show much interest. He said he was above silly things like that. She didn’t know how many times she’d asked or hinted that she wanted to come and after what seemed like forever, finally he agreed! She’d been so happy and he’d seemed like he’d been enjoying himself up until now but the one ride she really wanted to go on, Starscream wouldn’t stop teasing her about it.
Lost in her thoughts, she felt herself being gently pushed backwards. She shuddered her optics, looking up at Starscream as she took a seat on the bench beneath her. He handed her a crystalized energon stick and sat down next to her. She warmed when their plating touched, a small gesture but none the less meaningful. They sat next to one another, eating their treats in silence.
She sat there, still lost in thought, wondering if this had been a good idea or not and that’s when she felt Starscream’s arm wrap around her and then he pulled her close. “You know, you’re cute when you get flustered.”
Her wings twitched and her face heated as she looked down at the half empty stick. “I am not!”
“You are too.” Starscream said plainly, his free servo reaching out, grabbing her chin between his thumb and foredigit, turning her helm towards him as he leaned in for a quick kiss. “You’re right. You’re not cute. You’re far from it.” The seeker replied with a devilish grin.
Her spark sank at that. Did he think she was ugly? If that were the case, why did he seem to stick around?
“You’re beautiful . Now, lets get going.” Starscream stood up faster than she could follow and once more, he took her servo in his and gave it a gentle, yet reassuring squeeze. Windblade finished the rest of her treat and tossed the now empty stick in the trash just as Starscream started tugging her along.
“Where are we going?”
“You’ll see. Just be patient.”
Windblade huffed, her wings fluttering behind her but she quickly calmed herself down. Her curiosity was getting the better of her anyways and it was hard to be upset when she was feeling like this. Instead, she just followed behind her seeker, looking from the back of his helm to everything around them as they passed. Were they leaving? A part of her hoped not. She still wanted to go on a few rides and try a game or two but another part of her was more than ready to leave.
“Close your optics.”
“Starscream….”
“Just do it!” He growled, though there was a tinge to his voice that she couldn't quite place. His field…It seemed somewhat exciting, even if there was an underlying boredom. That might just be him, though.
She sighed and did as he instructed, closing her optics. She was grateful, not only to Starscream for leading her but to her other senses. Even with her optics closed, she could hear and feel just about everything around her or at least, she knew where things were so she didn’t walk into them or fall prey to an attack. Knowing what things were exactly, that was another thing completely.
They walked for what seemed like forever. She knew it only felt like that due to having her optics closed but nonetheless, it was still annoying. The more they walked, the more she realized it was very likely they were leaving and Starscream just wanted her optics closed so she didn’t give him grief for it or try to stop to do something else. Her servo tightened around his and her wings drooped.
“Starscream, if we’re leaving, you can just tell me.”
Her voice was low and a sadness was creeping into it. Starscream said nothing, which only made her squeeze his servo harder. “Star.”
“Tuck your wings in and sit down.”
Her face scrunched up, confusion plain to see, even with her optics closed. “Just do it, Windblade.” She sighed but did as he asked and tucked her wings in as close to her frame as she could before she moved to sit down. Starscream helped guide her until she was fully seated and then he must have done the same because their hips were touching once more.
She figured it was another bench, at least until she felt a bar lower against her. It wasn’t tight. It was just enough that she could rest her servos atop it, if she wanted to anyways. A slow, steady motion was the next thing she noticed. They had started moving. They definitely weren't just on a bench.
“You can open your optics now.” Starscream said softly next to her, just as the music began to play.
Slowly, she opened her optics and shuddered them as they adjusted. The lights were low, with a pinkish-red hue, but she could still make out the silhouettes of objects moving past them. She looked down and noticed the water beneath them before she looked at what they were seated in before going back up to the animatronics dancing around them and all of the other decorations.
“Why did you bring me here?”
“Because you wanted to go on this ride and don't tell me you didn’t. I know you better than that, Windblade.” Starscream scoffed, his servo squeezing hers though his gaze stayed off to the side.
Windblade smiled, her spark warmed and she leaned in, pressing a soft kiss against Starscream's cheek.
“Thank you, Star.”
Even with the low lighting, she could tell Starscream was blushing as he squeezed her servo just a bit tighter. Leaning against him, she relaxed, still looking around to see everything that was on the gentle ride but mostly, she was enjoying being with Starscream like this.
He had taken her on the ride the humans called ‘The Tunnel of Love.’ Sure, it was a simple, silly little ride but even so, it was one she wanted to go on with Starscream. Even if she couldn’t admit it at the beginning when he was pestering her about it.
