Chapter Text
Four days after the yakuza raid (Monday). . .
Izuku was sitting on his hospital bed as Eri and Mirio talked to each other.
Izuku and Eri had been taken out of isolation the day after they had arrived at the hospital and they had been spending a lot of time with Mirio who had been released two days ago. A boy called Tamaki had started to hang out with them too about a day ago when he had woken up, but he was in physio therapy right now. apparently Tamaki had been at the Yakuza raid and his legs had gotten crushed with rubble when the ceiling collapsed. He was making amazing progress and was already able to walk again on his own, but it would be another week or two before he was allowed to continue hero training.
The two hadn't really been informed about anything else.
They had been told how everyone apart from the green and yellow haired hero were doing, and they were all doing fine.
Izuku knew what that meant though. He was the reason for another death. Even if the heroes tried to hide that from him, Izuku knew. He knew from the moment he heard the man scream. He also knew he was the reason for why the ceiling had collapsed. That meant he was the reason why Tamaki was hurt.
Kacchan hadn't been allowed to visit Izuku in hospital. The doctors were trying not to overwhelm the greenette or Eri with lots of new people, so that meant little visitors allowed. Only Mirio, Tamaki, Eraserhead (or Aizawa) and sometimes Present Mic (Hizashi).
Mirio and Tamaki had talked to them about a festival that was happening at UA and Aizawa had told them that they might be able to go. That meant seeing Kacchan while also being in a hero school Izuku had always wanted to go to and he honestly couldn't wait! Apparently, Izuku and Eri were being released the next day so they could walk around UA and have a chance to get used to the building before the festival.
He wasn't really focused on that though. He was more focused on the dizziness he was currently experinaing. When Izuku had woken up again for the first time, the nurses had to turn the lights off because they were too bright for Izuku and his head was hurting. They didn't want to trigger Izuku's quirks either. Headaches were becoming more and more common the longer he stayed in the hospital though.
The doctors had been running a lot of tests on Izuku because of the amount of drugs that had been put in his bloodstream by Overhaul, so maybe that's why his head was being weird. But at the same time, a lot of things were triggering a lot of memories. Memories from before the Yakuza and from the Yakuza. Izuku was overwhelmed to say the least. He didn't even know how to react when bad memories came up because of how many other memories he was having. He usually just ended up sitting there. numb.
Izuku let himself grip onto the blankets of the hospital bed. He stared at the itchy fabric in an attempt to anchor himself, trying to ignore the other people talking in the room.
Izuku hated hospitals.
There was never anything to do apart from talk and overthink. Izuku didn't really want to talk. But he didn't want to think either.
"What about yours, Midoriya?" Mirio turned to him.
"h-huh..?"
"We are talking about favourite foods! Mine is Ramen, Eri said her's was apples, sooo... what's yours?"

"Kacchan your mum's katsudon is so amazing!"
"awww thanks Izuku!" Mitsuki said, ruffling Izuku's curly hair as she walked by where he was sitting.

"I-I like Katsudon.."
"oooo, I've never tried Katsudon before!"

The next day (Tuesday). . .
It was around 7:00am Tuesday morning and Aizawa was walking from his car to the hospital entrance. It had been five days since the yakuza raid and today Aizawa was picking up Eri and Izuku. He was going to be bringing them to UA so they had a chance to get used to the school before attending the festival that was being held tomorrow.
They would both be sleeping in a spare room in the teachers' dorm until permanent living areas could be sorted out. Eri didn't have any parents and nobody could find any close relatives. Izuku on the other hand had a mother. The only problem was the separation... Aizawa, along with a lot of other heroes and police, thought it would be a bad idea to separate the two. The nurses had said that Eri seemed to have a lot of emotional attachment to Izuku, and apparently Izuku was very protective over the girl.
If Inko Midoriya was alright with taking on two traumatised children then the kids would probably be handed to her. Either that or they'd have to live at UA so they were under the protection of pros. Aizawa thought UA was the more logical option, seeing all the villains that were becoming more bold with their actions everyday. Plus, would a mother who hasn't been properly parenting anyone for nine years be able to handle two kids who have been in a yakuza all their life? Would Inko really be able look after them, considering all they went through? Aizawa had no idea.
Obviously, nobody was going to keep Izuku from seeing his mother, but Aizawa definitely thought he should be living with someone who can offer full protection and support.
With that thought out of his head, the hero opened the front doors and stalked up to the front desk.
"Hello sir! How can I help?" The person at the desk greeted cheerfully.
"I'm here to pick up Izuku Midoriya and Eri." Aizawa tiredly replied, the same bored expression painted on his face.
"Can I take your name?"
"Shouta Aizawa. Eraserhead."
"Thank you! you're looking for room 35, floor 2 at the end of the corridor"
The hero nodded before turning around and walking towards the stairs.
When he got to the right room he knocked on the door, waiting until the nurse that was in the room told him to come in. He walked inside to see Izuku sitting on Eri's bed behind her, putting her hair into one long braid at the back.
Eri was wearing a red dungarees dress with a white button-up shirt underneath. She had a pair of dark grey tights on and wore a pair of beige fluffy boots to go with the outfit.
Midoriya was wearing a simple t-shirt that read 't-shirt' underneath a plain light blue jacket. The boy had a pair of red shoes on his feet that Aizawa assumed were the brand of shoes made for quirkless people. He also had on some black jeans that ended just above the top of his shoes.
"Good morning to you both. Ready to go?" Aizawa asked.
Izuku simply nodded and held Eri's hand as they headed out of the room and towards the hero's car. Aizawa noticed how Izuku was carrying his own yellow backpack and Eri's beige shoulder bag. He chose not to comment on it.
The three got to the car and before setting off Aizawa turned around to ask "So, kid. Would you prefer to be called Izuku or Midoriya?"
"U-um.. I'd prefer Midoriya but.. um.. I don't mind.." The kid replied quietly.
"Alright, Midoriya. Eri is there anything you'd prefer to be called?"
"Eri is okay" She said.
"Eri it is. I'm going to make a quick trip to my apartment to pick up Hizashi and Shinso, then I'll take you both to UA. We'll be going to Nedzu's office first, then I will take you to see some of the students who helped saved you both. Izuku, you will get to see Bakugo and we are allowing him to walk around the school with you, Eri and Mirio if you would like him too. That sound okay?" Aizawa asked as he started the car.
He received two nods and then started to drive.
The drive to Aizawa's apartment took about a five minuets and it was spent in silence. When they got there, the hero got out of the car briefly to grab his husband and adoptive son.
Shinso sat in the back next to Eri who sat in the middle, and Mic got into the front passenger seat.
As said, they then headed for UA. All the way there Midoriya was practically buzzing with excitement. Or was it anxiety? Or a mix of both?
They drove up to UA and got out of the car, Izuku picking up Eri and walking slightly behind the two adults. Shinso had split up with them and had started walking to 1-A's dorm, probably so he could sleep in his room for an hour or two.
That left Aizawa, Mic, Izuku and Eri alone. The four went to the front doors of UA and before stepping inside Mic turned to the two kids and asked "Alright you two. You little listeners ready to go in?" with an enthusiastic, kind smile.
