    Pregnant and forced to go back to her own time, Catrìona must learn to live without Jamie, and Jamie must do the same back in his own time. For a short time - for Catrìona, at least - things seem to be all right, until war comes to Scotland once again. For Jamie, he must do what he can to survive, eventually reuniting with his children.
