Thief!

Summary:

Ray makes a discovery in the firehouse bedroom

Work Text:

Over time the boys of the Ghostbusters decided that having all four of them staying in the firehouse interfered with their growing lives and families. Winston wanted to spend time with his wife and kids when he wasn’t fighting ghosts and Peter for once wanted to be a proper companion and father figure. With this in mind, they decided to take shifts staying overnight at the firehouse. Anything major would result in a phone call to the others.

Tonight Egon and Ray were sharing an overnight shift together. Egon had gone up to get some sleep about an hour ago, leaving Ray to finish one of those late night horror films he loved so much by himself. When it came to an end the television was turned off and Ray headed up to take a bit of a nap himself.

He blinked when he stepped into the bedroom, frowning at what he found in his bed. “How come you always end up in my bed when we have an overnight at the firehouse together?” he asked, smiling down at the other.

Egon groaned, opening one eye to look at Ray. He made a show of taking all of the blanket and pillows, hugging one to his chest as he kept the other under his head. “Your bed is closer to the door,” he answered.

“Well I should be able to use it too!” Ray protested.

The other yawned as loudly as possible, rolling over while still hugging the pillow to his chest. “Too bad,” he said.

“Hey!”

“You heard me.”

“Egon!”

“Too..!” Egon gasped and could no longer speak when Ray leapt into the bed and started to tickle him. His stilted laughter filled the room and he took the pillow he had been hugging and tried to swat Ray away with it. “Ha! Ha! Ha! Raymond! No!”

Ray stopped once he had enough room in his own bed. He laid down, smiling wickedly as he laid on his side. Egon rolled over to face him, his cheeks flush from the laughter. “That’s what you deserve for trying to steal my bed,” he said. Egon huffed and he responded by leaning forward, kissing him on the end of his nose. “Bed thief,” he said.

“I shall succeed next time I make an attempt to steal your bed,” Egon promised. “You’ll have to stay in Peter’s bed and deal with the stains of questionable origin on the sheets.”

He just smiled, placing an arm around Egon’s middle to hold him close. “You wouldn’t make me sleep in Peter’s bed.”

He made a show of thinking this over before finally shaking his head. “No, I wouldn’t,” he softly said, smiling at him.
