Feline Not Good

Summary:

Fyodor and Chuuya are jealous.

Why? Maybe it's because of the cat that Chuuya brought in a few weeks ago and has been giving his undying attention towards him ever since then and Fyodor named the cat a name Chuuya no longer likes to hear.

Notes:

HIIIII!

Yes. I am back with this fic that is a complete chaotic mess. Not as chaotic as the other one but honestly these two are just dumbasses at best. This is a dumb fic but I had so much fun writing it. I finished this fic less than 2 hours after I posted the previous fic. I know. I just brain rotted it all on a page. Mostly inspired by National Cat Day in Japan and wanted to write a fic where chuuya and fyodor have a cat hehehehe

Hope you enjoy these jealous idiots~! <3333

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Fyodor tends to never wake up to an empty bed, he’s usually the first one to wake up out of the both of them.

But today… There is no short redhead warmth against his chest and sleeping with him this morning.

He gets out of bed, staring at the clock on the bed stand.

8:30 am.

Why has Chuuya gone so early in the morning? And without informing him about it as well.

Fyodor twists the doorknob and shuffles down the hallway. As he heads to the main room, he can already see his missing beloved, sitting on the ground and peacefully resting with their new cat.

Chuuya has recently found a cat in an alleyway. Those ones in cardboard boxes, Fyodor remembers previous times Chuuya wanted to go through that situation so he could adopt it and brings it into their apartment.

His pleading eyes were hard to say no to so in the end Fyodor let him keep the cat.

His purple eyes gaze down at the cat, all curled up in Chuuya’s arms. He feels something irking inside him when he sees how the redhead hugs the feline so gently.

He’s been liking him, the cat, a little much for Fyodor’s comfort.

He frowns, crouching down to Chuuya and the cat’s level.

Grabbing the ginger cat out of Chuuya's hands, he moves him to his own bed that Chuuya bought for him on his first day, (along with many other things that Fyodor considered unnecessary), located in the kitchen and carelessly put the cat in his bed.

Fyodor glances one last time at the cat, which has woken up, obviously . He hisses at the man standing before him but Fyodor ignores his complaining meows and shooting glares aimed at him.

The Russian lifts the redhead into his arms. One arm under his knees and an arm behind his back, taking the both of them back to bed.

Chuuya groans a little, subconsciously wrapping his arms around Fyodor’s neck, “Fedyaa….” He mumbles like a whine.

Fyodor presses a kiss on his forehead, “We’re going back to our bed. What have I said about sleeping on the floor?” His dark eyes shift to the cat following behind them.

“Mmm…”

Chuuya goes back to sleep almost instantly after that.

Fyodor pushes the door open and bats an eye at the ginger cat.

He smirks, victoriously, closing the door behind him and leaving the cat outside.

I’ve taken back what’s rightfully mine.

“BAHAHAHA!” Nikolai laughs loudly, scaring some of the people in the cafe. “Chuu-kun seriously kicked you out because you didn’t let a little kitty inside your bedroom because you were jealous?! You’ve got to be kidding me, Dos-kun!”

Sigma watches Nikolai laughing his ass off like no tomorrow. He quietly sips on his cup of tea and looks at Fyodor’s stoic expression but is probably annoyed on the inside.

Nikolai’s laughing is certainly not helping the situation.

“Do you think he’s going to forgive you?” Nikolai asks, wiping a tear away from his eye.

Fyodor drinks his cup as well and places it on the tea plate, “He will eventually. He complains whenever it’s late at night if I’m not in bed,” he said with a smile.

Sigma raises a brow, “But isn’t he mad at you because the cat left scratch marks on the door?” He asks back.

“It’s not the first time Chuuya’s seen scratch marks,” Fyodor replies, “he’s made plenty of them before himself on my back.”

The only normal one, out of the three of them in the group, stares at him in dead silence.

He wishes he never mentioned it in the first place. Why was he given a good memory? Why couldn’t it be as small as Nikolai’s?

“Forget I said anything.”

Nikolai cackles and pats Sigma’s back, “You’ll get used to it soon enough, Sigma-kun! But seriously, how long have you had this cat?”

Fyodor hums, “3 weeks?”

“Wow, that’s been a long time! What does it look like?”

“I do have a picture.”

“Show me, show me!” Nikolai eagerly says, leaning across the table, “I want to know Chuu-kun’s taste in cats!”

“That is a weird way to put it…” Sigma mutters under his breath.

Maybe it is best if he just stays at the casino and doesn't get dragged along into their little hangout party ever again. Life in the sky is much better than this conversation.

“It’s a boy.”

“Awh! He’s so cute!”

“I know, he’s cute—”

“I was saying that Chuu-kun’s cute!”

Sigma gulps at the death glare coming from Fyodor.

“Kolya, I hope you aren’t asking for another life.” he replies in a dark tone with a condescending look on his face, “God may not give you one…”

Nikolai grins and waves his hands in the arm, “I was just kidding, Dos-kun! Just a joke! Don’t need to give me the death stare!” Sigma has no idea how he’s taking this so lightly.

“So! What’s his name?”

“Oh. It’s…”

- - -

Chuuya slams his fist on the table.

“He fucking named the cat, ‘Solnyshko’!” He frustratedly screams with a vein popping from the side of his forehead. He leans on the back of his chair with crossed arms and a frown.

“Do you know how annoying that is?!”

“Solny—what now, lad?” Kouyou asks, confused.

After their small argument about the cat this morning, and the now completely ruined bedroom door full of scratch marks with two unhappy gingers and one at fault Russian, Chuuya comes to work as a mess and immediately goes to Kouyou to console his issues with her over tea.

He sighs and calms himself down.

“We made an agreement that since I bought the—Solnyshko back home, we agreed that Fedya can name him and then his shitty ass mind came up with ‘Solnyshko’! It means ‘sun’ in Russian!” He explains, fuming with anger.

“I think it’s a lovely name, Chuuya. It rather suits the cat, it is ginger—”

“But you don’t get it, Ane-san! He calls me that! He can’t go calling other things like that either! How am I supposed to fucking know who he’s calling out for when he calls out ‘solnyshko’?!”

“So… you’re just jealous?”

A blush blooms on his face, “Me?! Jealous?! About a cat?! Hell no!” He exclaims, in denial.

She exhales a deep breath and hands the empty pot of tea to one of her ladies. Kouyou doesn’t get paid enough for this job.

She needs more caffeine to talk to this dumb executive, “Listen, Chuuya, I know it might be hard to admit it. You need to give Fyodor-kun a rest, I’m sure there’s a reason as to why he named the cat… whatever his name was,” she assures him.

“I bet he just wants to replace me because he got bored of me,” Chuuya replies while rolling his eyes.

“I doubt that and let’s remember who started the commotion. It could’ve all been resolved with a calm discussion. Of course, I’m not surprised as it is coming from you.”

He leans forward with a frown, “Ane-san! I thought you were on my side!”

“I know, but taking sides in this kind of situation sounds ridiculous, even for you, Chuuya,” she answers calmly, “why don’t you apologise to him?”

Chuuya furrows his brows and averts his eyes away from hers.

“He probably won’t be coming back home tonight. He’s probably busy like always.”

“I doubt that as well.”

He slouches his shoulders in defeat after giving it some thought.

“I guess I did mess up big time, huh?”

“It’s nothing too serious. Fyodor-kun will come back tonight, he’s smart isn’t he?” Kouyou says, drinking her new cup of tea before giving Chuuya an icy look, “but, if he doesn’t, I will personally seek him out and have quite the conversation with him.”

Chuuya stands up from his seat and shakes his head.

“That won’t be necessary, Ane-san,” he smiles, “thanks for that.”

“No worries, lad. Come back next time if something like this happens again.”

The executive nods his head and exits out of her office, closing the door behind him.

“FUCKING HELL I WAS JEALOUS OF A CAT?!”

The ladies in the room are quite startled from the outburst from outside by the redhead as Kouyou silently continues to drink her tea. Her lips are tilted with amusement.

“I always knew a pet would be the lad’s greatest downfall.”

- - -

Back with the DOA group, still in the cafe and chatting about the two angry gingers living in Fyodor’s shared apartment.

“Why would you call him ‘Solnyshko’? Isn’t Chuu-kun going to get jealous?” Nikolai asks, tilting his head to the side and stirring his ten spoonfuls of sugar coffee.

Fyodor is also confused, “Why would Chuuya be jealous?”

“He doesn’t know why you named him ‘Solnyshko’, right? Besides, you only call him ‘solnyshko’, obviously if you start calling out Solnyshko, Chuu-kun will get annoyed when it’s not him you’re calling out for.”

Sigma turn over to Nikolai with a nervous smile, “I think Nakahara-san wouldn’t be jealous of such—”

“Of course,” Fyodor cuts him off with a grin and a little more enthusiasm, “it all makes sense now. Thanks, Kolya, I guess you can live another day.”

Sigma blinks a few times to process Fyodor’s words in his head, “EH?”

“See! I’m always the best with advice~!”

Sigma couldn’t wrap his head around all of this. He whips his head to Fyodor, “Wait, wait, Fyodor-san, why were you jealous of Solnyshko at the beginning that made you get in trouble?”

“Oh. I didn’t like the attention Chuuya was giving to that annoying ball of gas,” Fyodor replies plainly, “he always plays with him and early this morning he slept on the floor in the living room hugging Solnyshko. He wasn’t in bed so I went and checked, and took him back inside our room and I locked Solnyshko outside.”

That’s what you were jealous about?!

“O–oh… I see…”

Sigma is sending alerts to his head. He is learning more and more about Fyodor Dostoyevsky even after working under the same organisation for a few months together. This guy is scary in so many ways Sigma couldn’t describe.

Nikolai clicks his fingers with a look of realisation, breaking the awkward synergy between them all.

“Solnyshko! The sun! The sun is made out of gas! ‘An annoying ball of gas’! I get it now! That’s a good joke, Dos-kun!” He exclaims, hitting Fyodor’s back.

Sigma turns his attention to the clown. You seriously only cared about that part?

“Then why not just get rid of it then, Dos-kun?” Nikolai suggests.

It takes a few seconds for Fyodor to say anything as a small smile appears on his lips. A surprise to both DOA members sitting at the table.

“Solnyshko’s face looks cute when he’s around him. I want to keep staring at him.”

Nikolai blinks his eyes and puts a finger on his chin, “Which one are you talking about, Dos-kun? Are you talking about Chuu-kun or Solnyshko?”

Fyodor doesn’t answer the question, too busy daydreaming and zones off.

“I don’t think it really matters,” Sigma whispers back to the clown.

- - -

Fyodor arrives back home at midnight and opens the door quietly, making sure to not wake up anybody. Especially Chuuya, knowing how much he loves his sleep.

He closes the door with a soft click. He faces the completely dark room but he does hear some mumbling coming from somewhere. He approaches the sounds and finds the source of the mumbling.

The tv is still on while a certain asleep executive is lightly snoring on the couch with Solnyshko curled up in his arms.

The same position as this morning.

A small chuckle escapes out of Fyodor’s lips, waking Chuuya. He is half-asleep and glances at the figure staring in front of him.

“Fedya…? You back?”

“Yes, I’m back solnyshko.”

Chuuya is more awake now and a small frown appears on his lips upon hearing the very name he doesn’t like anymore. “Are you talking to me or the cat?”

“I’m talking to you,” he replies, pecking his lips, “let’s get to bed, okay?”

“Ok…” the redhead mumbles and steps out of the blankets he wraps himself into. He leans against his lover and parts his lips to say something else, “Fedya…”

“Yes, dorogoy moy?”

“Change his name… I don’t like it.”

Oh, how adorable he is when half-asleep , Fyodor thought to himself with a smile of his own, “I think it suits him. He reminds me a lot of yourself, solnyshko.”

Chuuya rubs his cheek against his chest as his orange hairs are messily arranged, “But I want to be your only solnyshko. I can’t have a dumb cat take my spot…” he mumbles back.

“Ty moye yedinstvennoye solnyshko.”

He hums in response, not knowing what he said but did find it attractive, “Keep speaking Russian, Fedya. It sounds nice.”

“Have you just fallen in love with my language instead, Chuuya?”

“If you keep calling Solnyshko ‘solnyshko’ then I might as well…”

Fyodor may like Chuuya when he’s around Solnyshko but he much prefers Chuuya when he’s all sleepy; so easy to cuddle and tease him.

“Let’s get you to bed now, solnyshko.”

“I’m not a cat.”

“I was talking to my Chuuya,” he says, closing the bedroom door behind him, “Solnyshko is asleep and you should be too,” he presses a kiss on his nose and lays the sleepy one to bed, “I’ll be back shortly.”

“Ok… Don’t be gone for too long though, Fedya…”

Fyodor pulls back and brushes back some hairs on Chuuya’s face and tucks it behind his ear.

“I won’t, solnyshko.”

Notes:

Thank you for reading!

Kudos and comments are always welcomed and appreciated! :))))))

I'm considering whether or not I public my current account on twitter. I'm not too sure how big the fandom is for fyoya over on twitter is cause it's not really a big ship... haha... unfortunately.... not sure if it's going to make a big change or anything if I do public the account. I'll probably just post when I'm going to update stuff on twitter like self-promos as well??? Not too sure asddfjdffjdf.

I'm just rambling to myself about so ignore it!

Another two ideas just came to my head as well so I'll be writing those out soon too hehehehe. ANYWAY! Hope everyone has a lovely rest of their day! BYEEEEE!!! <33333
