Summary
A tale about how Single Dad Captain America Sam Wilson and TokTube Internet Famous Chef Bucky Barnes meet by chance when they both reach for a meat rose at the grocery store the day after Valentine's Day.
EXCERPT:
The man removed his hand from the meat rose, letting Sam take it. Sam blinked, looking from the meat rose to the man.
“Thank you – ?” said Sam, a little surprised, about to ask for his name, offer his own, but the man beat him to the punch.
“Bucky!” the man blurted, “Um. Bucky. Bucky Barnes. Me. I’m him. Bucky.”
“Cool,” said Sam, feeling like the man was acting more like a skittish cat now than anything, trying to keep a soothing voice, “Thanks for the rose, I’m – "
But something about mentioning the meat rose just made Bucky’s face turn redder, the man stumbling away, running straight to the dairy aisle before disappearing into the freezer section, Sam left alone in the corner of the meat section holding a meat rose. And All Sam could do was laugh, feeling himself cry a bit as he did, wondering what had just happened to him, calling Sarah with a smile.
