Chapter Text
Wonderland was a strange place, Izuku was starting to see. Talking rabbits with watches, candy that made you small, smiling cats, mad tea parties. A king and queen known for their odd behavior and tendencies to behead subjects for trivial things.
Izuku shifted uncomfortably as the king and queen stared at her. She hadn’t meant to join their tea party, but they insisted. She had only asked them to help her return home, but instead they say her down and talked with her for hours. What was her name? How old was she? Did she like to read? One after the other.
It was confusing for the girl, but she didn’t expect much else from such a strange world.
Finally, the king spoke. “You want to go home?” He questioned, scanning Izuku carefully. She nodded and adjusted her posture. “Yes please. I can’t repay you, but I would greatly appreciate it.” She just wanted to go home. Izuku felt a bit bad for being unable to repay this debt, but maybe they would be happy with being able to help Izuku home. The queen smiled sweetly at Izuku. “Your presence is enough.” Inko assured.
Izuku continued to smile awkwardly, unsure of how to respond.
The king stood up and walked over to Izuku. She was confused when he rested his hands on her shoulders. “Don’t worry, we’ll make sure you’re right at home.” He kissed the top of Izuku’s head, startling her. “You’ll be the perfect princess.”
Izuku gaped, at a loss for words. Panic laced her thoughts as she tried to argue. “W-wait!” She cried. “I’m not a princess! You have to take me home!” The king and queen ignored the child, choosing to fawn over her instead. They told her how happy they were that she chose them as her parents, hugging her so tight she couldn’t breathe.
Following that rabbit was a mistake. Coming to Wonderland was a mistake she’d always regret.
Hisashi smiled as he looked to his side, a feeling of content in his chest. Izuku was sleeping, her head resting in her mother’s lap. Inko was gentle as she pet her hair, using the loving touch of a mother to soothe the child.
They looked remarkably similar, Hisashi noted. They had the same green eyes and hair, beautiful in every way. He laughed softly. Even the same water work tears.
Izuku was a true blessing; The child they had always wanted.
Hisashi hadn’t been particularly happy when Izuku showed up unannounced while he was having tea with his wife. The girl was dirty and poorly dressed, certainly not the perfection he sought to have in his kingdom. The man was going to call the guards on the girl, but Inko had beat him to it and invited the girl to sit down.
Izuku had been a nervous little thing, stuttering and averting her gaze when she was spoken to. It was almost charming. Inko easily struck up conversation with the child and they talked for a time. Eventually Hisashi joined in, asking Izuku about herself. She hadn’t seemed particularly comfortable when talking about herself, but didn’t refuse.
Turns out, she recently turned twelve. This bit of information made Hisashi smile. Izuku was so small. So young- she was just the right size to hug and cuddle. And compared to his own impressive age she was just a baby. Some of the other things she confessed humored him and his Inko. Izuku would tell them random things about herself to keep the conversation going.
She liked vegetables, but not okra and spinach. She sometimes talked to herself because she didn’t have anyone to talk to, which earned her strange looks. Her father, Toshinori, was a kind man who reminded her of a sunflower.
After a time of talking to the child All For One felt himself becoming more and more interested in Izuku. It couldn’t have been a coincidence. He and Inko had always wished for a child. Any child worthy of their love, if by blood or otherwise. And suddenly this scruffy little girl wanders over to them? It had to be fate that brought her to them.
So they asked Izuku if she wanted to go home with them. She said yes, to their joy, but fretted that she wouldn’t be able to repay them. It was silly of her. Izuku would never have to worry about such a thing. Hisashi wasn’t able to stop smiling as he walked to his new daughter, reassuring her that she’d be just fine with them.
Strangely, Izuku hadn’t taken the news well. The child had tried to tell her parents that wasn’t what she wanted, but they just chalked it up to her being indecisive or tired. Even as they led Izuku to the carriage that would take them home, she cried, overwhelmed with emotion.
Hisashi and Inko had sat on either side of Izuku, comforting and fawning over her as she cried. “ I want to go home!” She whimpered, trying to escape their loving touches. Hisashi only shushed and kissed her, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her back to sit between her mother and father. “It’s okay, sweetie. That’s where we’re going.”
Despite their reassurances, Izuku didn’t calm down as she was brought to her new home. Hisashi knew she had been panicking and quickly sat down with her in his arms. Izuku eventually stopped fighting and let her father hold her, cooing and whispering to her as he rocked her gently. Inko called for Kurogiri to bring the girl a cup of tea, which Izuku drank numbly.
Izuku was unaware of the medicine in the drink, which quickly helped her calm down. Hisashi and Inko sat with their daughter until she fell asleep, the tea finally taking its affects on her. Which led them to now.
Inko sighed and rested her head on Hisashi’s shoulder. She was smiling, her beautiful emerald eyes sparkling with tears. “I can’t believe we have a child now.” She murmured, relaxing against her husband. Hisashi beamed and rested his head against hers. He looked down at Izuku, who was peaceful.
She was so small, meek, even. Hisahsi would have to go to lengths to keep her safe, but he wouldn’t mind. The King and Queen Of Hearts now had their own little princess. Izuku, Princess Of Hearts. He couldn’t wait to dress her up and show her off to his subjects. Maybe matching outfits? He could imagine Izuku wearing a little red and black dress, so small compared to her father as she stood beside him. Or maybe he’d keep her in the palace and refuse to share her with anyone but Inko-
No. Izuku was to cute not to share.
Hisashi kissed his wife, who was still petting Izuku. “Only perfection for you, my love.”
Izuku was perfect. If she wasn’t already, she would be soon.
