Chapter Text
It’d been three days and the landlord had yet to call a plumber to fix one of the bathrooms in their apartment. Chuuya was ready to call the bastard up again to give him a piece of his mind, but right now he needed to shower. And the only working shower was in-
“Oi! Idiot, open up! I need to shower!”
Dazai’s bathroom.
Chuuya stood outside his roommate’s door and looked around the apartment. It was a steal, honestly. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large sitting room. The kitchen was on the smaller side, but they made it work. One of the downsides was that when something broke, it took forever to get it fixed. Gritting his teeth, he pounded on the door again. “If you don’t open the door in the next five seconds I’ll-” His loud threat was cut off by Dazai opening the door.
“Calm down, Shortie. I was brushing my teeth,” Dazai said, the slightest of smirks on his lips.
Chuuya’s face burned red with anger as he shoved past his roommate and towards the bathroom. As much as he would love to teach his stupid “friend” a lesson or two about poking fun at his height, he needed to shower and go to work. The door slammed shut behind him and locked with a click.
Dazai’s smirk only grew as he walked to the desk in his room and sat down. He had paperwork to finish but didn’t want to work on it just yet. He was waiting for something. It was something that he only recently discovered, yet it somehow managed to brighten his day every time it happened.
Chuuya stood in the bathroom for a moment, letting his anger die down before he broke something. He hated having to use this bathroom, it was a pain to deal with Dazai just to get here and once he was it smelled like the bastard’s soaps and cologne. With a sigh, he stripped from his clothes and stepped into the shower, making sure to turn the temperature down from the scalding water that Dazai seemed to enjoy. Hopefully his own shower would be fixed soon.
Dazai heard the water turn on and his heart skipped a beat, it was almost time. He leaned back, closed his eyes, and waited. Soon enough, the most beautiful melody drifted through the wall and into his room. Chuuya liked to sing in the shower, and Dazai was living for it. He couldn’t properly express how soothing his roommate’s voice was. It was completely and utterly relaxing, and Dazai could feel his stress melting away at the sound.
He wouldn’t admit it, but he was going to miss Chuuya’s shower singing once his own bathroom was fixed.
Eventually, the singing stopped and the water was turned off. Dazai went back to the paperwork on his desk, feeling refreshed and relaxed. In a few minutes, Chuuya walked out of the bathroom, fully dressed and hair still damp as he attempted to dry it with a towel. He grumbled out a curt “thanks” and went to leave the room when Dazai called out to him. Turning around, Chuuya was met with a cheshire grin from his roommate.
“You have a beautiful singing voice, Chibi~” Dazai purred.
Chuuya’s eyes widened and his face flushed with embarrassment. “SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU ASSHOLE!!” He screeched, storming from the room and slamming the door behind him.
All Dazai could do was laugh, knowing that his landlord was going to get yet another phone call from the angry redhead.
