Buck looked around the apartment for the last time, as much as he loved having a place to call his own it was never home. When he basically moved in with Abby and stayed with her even when she left, leaving him behind it was never home. Then when he decided to by the apartment in hopes to have a place for him and Ali only, she didn’t want to stick around either because of his job. Then there was Taylor she had thought of his apartment a home considering the two were together.
But of course, that ended four months ago when she chooses her job over him and their relationship, she had asked him to follow her to DC. But Buck wasn’t ready to leave the family he made behind no matter how much he was always left behind. He was needed here, and nothing could make him leave LA, for his heart was here as was his family. A month after Taylor walked out of the apartment door Buck decided to move on with is life and give into the feelings he’s been hiding.
Two months ago, while Chris was away at another week of summer camp in which that kid loved going to, he set his plan into motion. He had planned that now that Ana was no longer in the picture and Taylor was out of his life and across the country. He would go after the one person he’s been in love with since basically there third shift of working together. This apartment held many good memories and many terrible nightmares as well.
But the best was the night that Buck had invited Eddie over for dinner and a movie where he planned to put everything in motion. He was going to wine and dine the man that he’s been in love with for so long hoping that he too felt the same. Standing up in the loft he looked down over into the kitchen as he remembered that night.
Flashback
Buck had cooked all afternoon making sure that everything was perfect for his night with Eddie. Buck had asked him to come over and have dinner with him and they could watch a movie together. Making sure everything was set up on the island he had the two place settings with candles and wine chilling in the fridge. Dressed in a pair of his good dark wash blue jeans and his light pink button-down shirt, leaving his curls loose. The knock at the door brought him out of his stupor as he headed to the door and opened it to find Eddie dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a dark Blue Henley.
“Hey, Buck.” Eddie said
“Hey Eddie, come in dinner is just about ready.” Buck said as Eddie walked in as a huge smile formed on his face. “Everything ok?”
“Yeah, everything is great, when you asked me over for dinner tonight, I was hoping it was more of a date then just hanging out.” Eddie said as Buck reached out and took Eddie’s hand into his.
“I was hoping that you thought that I want tonight to be special, but I was torn between taking you out or cooking for you and well I decided on privacy for our first date.” Buck said as Eddie stood close to Buck that he could feel the heat coming off Eddie.
“I like the privacy better the public setting.” Eddie said as the oven went off. “What smells so good?”
“Well, I thought I would try something new for you. Chicken Mole and for dessert I made fresas con crema.” Buck said as Eddie smiled as the food choices.
“Two of my favorites how did you know?” Eddie asked
“I may have asked Abuela, and she told me that these are two of your favorites and gave me her recipes. I just hope they are ok.” Buck said as Eddie kissed Buck’s cheek.
“If you are using Abuela recipes they are going to be good.” Eddie said as Buck poured them both a glass of wine and they sat down to eat the food that Buck prepared.
End Flashback
The opening of the door had brought Buck out of his mind as he saw Eddie standing at the bottom of the steps. Walking down he wrapped his arms around him and kissed his lips, as Eddie wrapped his arms around Buck’s waist.
“What were you thinking about just now?” Eddie asked
“You and our first date.” Buck said as Eddie smiled remembering that night.
“That was an amazing night, one of the best dates I have ever had. And it’s only gotten better with you, I love you Evan so much.” Eddie said
“I love you too Eddie you and Chris are all I need.” Buck said as Eddie looked around the empty apartment and pulled Buck to the middle of the room as he dropped to one knee.
“I want to make one more memory here. Evan Hunter Buckley, I love you with all that I have, and so much more, you love our son as if he was your own, always putting him first and foremost, I know we have only been together officially for two months, but I have known this for two years, that you are it for me. Will you marry me and become my husband?” Eddie asked Buck was shocked to say the least, but he knew that this was what he wanted and that was Eddie and Chris for the rest of his life.
“Yes, yes Eddie, I’ll marry you.” Buck said as Eddie slipped the ring onto his finger as Buck pulled Eddie up into his arms and kissed him with everything that he had.
“I love you so much, let’s go home to our son and get the rest of this stuff into the basement.” Eddie said
“Home, I love the sound of that. Let’s go home.” Buck said as they headed for the door just as Eddie reached for the knob there was a knock. Eddie looked to his now fiancé who was looking at him.
“Expecting someone?” Eddie asked
“Nope, everyone I know, and love knows I live with you now.” Buck said as he reached to open the door to see none other than one Taylor Kelly, a very pregnant Taylor Kelly. “Taylor.”
“Your pregnant.” Eddie said
“Have you moved?” Taylor asked
“Um…Taylor…yeah. What are you doing here?” Buck asked
“Your Pregnant.” Eddie said again
“Yes, Eddie I am, going on seven months.” Taylor said. “That’s why I am here.”
“It’s mine, isn’t it?” Buck asked as he held on to Eddie’s hand not wanting to let him go.
“Look we knew that when we were dating that I told you I never wanted kids and well here I am having your kid, when I found out I was going to abort it, but that made me feel horrible. So, I was going to have it and give it to you, but every time I called, I chickened out on telling you so I would hang up. I found out when I was about four months, Buck tell me do you want this baby if not I will put it up for adoption.” Taylor said as she went and sat down on the step while Buck and Eddie just stood there.
“Evan, ¿qué quieres hacer??” Eddie asked
“I no quiero hacer esto sin ti.” Buck said
“Quieres que te ayude?” Eddie asked
“Sí, no quiero hacerlo con nadie más que contigo. Sé que nos acabamos de comprometer y ambos hablamos de querer agregar otro niño o dos..” Buck said as Taylor watched the two continued to talk in Spanish.
“Are you two finally together?” Taylor asked
“Yes, we are.” Buck said
“I just asked him to marry me, and he said yes.” Eddie said
“And then I show up, I am so sorry, I should leave.” Taylor said as she tried to get up but was having trouble.
“No, Taylor it’s ok. That was always one of the things that you and I fought about, that I wanted a family and kids, and you didn’t.” Buck said
“I still don’t. I know I sound like a horrible person for saying this, but I don’t want to be a mom, I will give up all my rights and Eddie can adopt them as his own. I am not meant for this I really don’t like kids.” Taylor said
“When are you due?” Eddie asked
“October 26th.” Taylor said as she rubbed her belly. She reached out to the two of them. “Come here and feel this.”
Buck and Eddie both reached out their hands as she took them and placed them to her stomach as they felt the kick of the baby. Buck looked to his left to see that Eddie was smiling as they felt the baby kick.
“Babe, are you ok?” Buck asked
“Yeah, it’s just that I never felt that with Christopher, the minute I found out Shannon was pregnant I enlisted and didn’t make it back until the day before she had him.” Eddie said as a tear fell.
“Where are you staying?” Buck asked
“A hotel.” Taylor said
“I’d offer you to stay here but as you can see…” Buck said
“No, it’s ok, I don’t think I could do the stairs. Besides the network it is putting me up until I give birth.” Taylor said “I’ll get my lawyers to draw up the papers and I’ll have them ready by Friday. If you two are free at 10am I am going for a checkup with Dr. Vanesa at 524 Sunrise Ave.”
“We have off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We’ll be there both of us.” Buck said as he pulled Eddie close. They talked for about another thirty minutes until they realized what time it was, they needed to get Chris.

Buck and Eddie stood in the guest room that was now a nursery for their baby, they wanted to be surprised since Taylor hadn’t wanted to know neither had they. They had signed all the papers last month and they were filed where Taylor was giving up her rights to the baby and as soon as the baby was born, and a name was given Eddie would sign the adoption papers. But today was the one day that came quickly both Buck and Eddie had wanted to be married when the baby was born.
Taylor was due in two weeks, and they had all their friends and family here to watch them get married in their back yard. There was only one person missing and that was Maddie she was still trying to get healthy to bring herself home to her family. In the weeks leading up to today they have told their family that not only were they getting married, but they were welcoming a baby. When they all found out who was having the baby, they were a little concerned until Taylor told them what she told Buck and Eddie.
Chris was a little weird at first thinking that now that Taylor was back that she was taking Bucky away from him and his dad. Until the two of them sat him down and talked to him telling him that they were getting married, and he would become a big brother. Hen and Bobby had voiced their concerns as well, but Buck and Eddie told them as well that they were still getting married, just a lot sooner than planned.
“Hey, you two it’s about time we get started and there is a surprise guest here.” Bobby said as the two of them walked out into the living room to see Maddie standing there holding Jee standing next to Chim.
“Mads.” Buck said as he went to, her as she handed Jee to Chim and took her little brother into her arms.
“Evan I am so happy for you and Eddie.” Maddie said
“I am so glad you are here.” Buck said as they continued to hug.
“Like I would miss my baby brother getting married.” Maddie said as she looked over Buck’s shoulder to see Eddie standing there, Maddie reached out her hand and motioned for him to join the hug. “Welcome to the family Eddie.”
“Thanks Maddie, I too am glad that you are here.” Eddie said as Carla came into the room.
“Um Boy’s I know you two wanted to be married before the baby gets here but well Taylor had informed me that her water broke.” Carla said as they all rushed out to see Taylor sitting there next to Hen and Karen.
“You ready for the hospital?” Eddie asked
“Nope, not happening until you two get married. Now let move this along.” Taylor said
“Taylor are you sure you can hang in there.” Helena said
“I am surrounded by a bunch of first responders and plenty of women who have had babies, I am fine just let’s get these two married and then we can welcome this little one.” Taylor said as they all got into their seats and Carla went to the front as Buck and Eddie stood in front of her with Maddie and Adriana beside them as Chris stood next to his Aunt Adriana holding the rings.
“Dearly beloved we have gathered her to join these two into a marriage, it’s been a long time coming so let’s do this shall we. Eddie you can go first with your vows.” Carla said
“Evan, there is so much to say and never enough time to say it, you have always been there for me in more way than I can ever say, we may have had our ups and down’s. But we have made it through them all when we did it together, I love you so much now and even more forever. I can’t wait to call you my husband and continue building our family. I’ll have your back today, tomorrow and forever.” Eddie said
“Evan.” Carla said
“I know we started off on the wrong foot, but I am so glad that we are where we are right now. I have always felt like I wasn’t wanted by my own family except for my sister who was there when she could. I spent my life looking for a family that would love me for who I am, and I found that here in LA with the 118 and with you and Chris. You two have made me feel what a real family is supposed to be like. I’ll have your back today, tomorrow, and forever.” Buck said
“Now my I have the rings please?” Clara asked as Chris handed her the rings and then took his seat next to his grandparents. “Eddie take, this ring and place it on Evan’s finger repeating after me. With this ring I thee wed.”
“With this ring I thee wed.” Eddie said as he placed the ring to Buck’s finger.
“Buck if you will do the same.” Carla asked as Buck took the ring and placed it on Eddie’s finger.
“With this ring I thee wed.” Buck said as Taylor let out a scream.
“Taylor are you ready go to….” Hen started
“Nope let’s finish this.” Taylor said, “This has been a longtime coming.”
“Eddie repeat, after me. I Edmundo Alexander Diaz take you Evan Hunter Buckley to be my husband to have and hold in sickness and health to forsake all others until death do us part.” Carla said
“I Edmundo Alexander Diaz take you Evan Hunter Buckley to be my husband to have and hold in sickness and health to forsake all others until death do us part.” Eddie said
“Evan repeat, after me. I Evan Hunter Buckley take you Edmundo Alexander Diaz to be my husband to have and hold in sickness and health to forsake all others until death do us part.” Carla said
“I Evan Hunter Buckley take you Edmundo Alexander Diaz to be my husband to have and hold in sickness and health to forsake all others until death do us part.” Buck said
“By the power vest in my I pronounce you husband and husband you may kiss.” Carla said as Eddie pulled Buck close to him as they shared a kiss as Husbands. “Everyone I give you Mr. and Mr. Diaz.”
“AGGGggggg.” Taylor yelled. “Ok boys it’s time to go.”
“Ok let’s get out of here.” Eddie said as he and Buck were right there helping Taylor up as they guided her out to the truck.

Eddie and Buck were sitting in a room waiting on the nurses to bring their baby girl to them. After three hours of labor pushing, pain and screaming Taylor gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Before leaving the room, Buck and Eddie filled out the baby’s name on the adoption papers and they both signed it. Taylor had said a few words to the two of them and then promised that once she was able, she would be returning to DC.
The door opened and in walked a nurse with a folder full of paperwork as another walked in pushing a portable crib with their little girl. Looking down at her she was sleeping peacefully with her blond head of hair like her father, her brown eyes like her mother. She looked like Buck in so many ways and the brown eyes may have been because of her mother but also the same brown eyes as Eddie.
“Ok Boys she is all yours. Now she was just changed, she weighs 7lbs 8oz 19inches long. She needs to be feed 2oz and then burp and repeat. As well as the birth certificate needs filled out. As per Miss Kelly’s request her name is to be left off.” She spoke
“Yeah, we know.” Eddie said as Buck picked up their daughter and sat down as he started to feed her. Eddie sat next to him and couldn’t believe that he got all of this so quickly he has a husband, an amazing son and now a beautiful daughter. “So much for a honeymoon.”
“Yeah, I know but we’ll go on one just later than we thought. If I get to have my way with you in our bedroom, I am good.” Buck said
“Same here.” Eddie said
“Eddie, I know we really haven’t talk about it but are you really ok with the fact that Taylor was the one who gave us our daughter?” Buck asked
“I must admit that when she first showed up pregnant, I felt jealous that she could take you away from us because she was having your kid. But after hearing her say she never wants to be a mother and that she was going to put her up if you didn’t want her. I felt a little better, knowing that I won’t lose you to her.” Eddie said as Buck finished feeding and burping their daughter as Eddie filled out the paperwork, they both signed all the papers they needed and put them back in the file.
Buck pulled Eddie into his arms and planted a long loving kiss as he pulled him into his lap on the couch. Eddie was straddling Buck’s lap with is arms around Buck’s neck while Buck held him around this waist.
“Eddie, I love you so much, and no matter what. I could care less who comes back into our lives there is no one for me except you and our kids. If she had wanted to keep her and wanted me to be with her, I would have said no and fought her for custody. You are my happy ending you and our kids I love you, Eddie Diaz.” Buck said
“I love you too, Evan Diaz. God that sounds so good.” Eddie said
“It sure does.” Buck said as their daughter started crying. Eddie got off his husband’s lap as he picked up their little girl and held her close as he sat back next to Buck.
“Hey there Lynzee, I am your dad. And you are so loved.” Eddie said
“And I am your Papa. And your dad is right you are so loved. Just wait till the rest of your family gets here little one.” Buck said as there was a knock at the door.
“I’ll get it.” Eddie said as he handed off their daughter to Buck as he went to the door to find their parents, Abuela, sisters, and their son.
“Hey everyone, welcome.”
“How did you get up here?” Buck asked
“Talk to your Mama.” Maddie said as Buck looked over to Athena who smiled.
“So, who do we have here?” Ramon asked as Eddie walked to his son and picked him up.
“Well Chris you ready to meet your sister?” Buck asked as Eddie stood next to his husband and daughter.
“She’s cute, she’s got blond hair like Papa.” Chris said as Buck turned so they all could see her before she got passed around.
“Well Little one I told you, you had a huge family, and this is only half of it. Everyone we would like you all to meet our daughter Lynzee Victoria Diaz.” Buck said as both Helena and Bobby gasped.
“Honey you, ok?” Athena asked as Bobby got chocked up as he nodded.
“Mom, what’s wrong?” Adriana asked
“Ok so we chose her name carefully Lynzee was Grandma Lopez’s middle name, but we spelled it differently. It’s spelled L-Y-N-Z-E-E.” Eddie said as Buck handed their daughter to Helena.
“And as for the Victoria well we got from Bobby, I mean since he’s practically been a father to me, we wanted to honor him. Victoria was not only his mother’s name but also his daughter’s middle name.” Buck said
“Her name come from both of her grandparents.” Eddie said as Helena handed her off to Bobby who cradled the little girl in his arms. Buck stood next to his husband and son as they watched as their daughter was passed around the room. From grandparents to Aunts and Uncle. This may have been a whirlwind of how they got to where they are now, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
