“I have no intention of challenging our Emperor’s legitimacy. I do, however, invoke the Right of Usurper. Should I have faced him in the Kral Zera, I would have crushed him.”
Lotor held Sendak’s gaze, but he could feel the palpable question turn to the Archivist, who made a sound of assent in the back of his throat.
“The Right of Usurper… That hasn’t been invoked in millenia, but it does hold.”
He turned to Lotor slowly, with a stiffness betraying his age, and peered at him. “Are you familiar with it?”
Lotor had heard the phrase, but made no answer. The Archivist continued.
“You shall remain Emperor, although, should Commander Sendak defeat you in a duel now, his heirs will automatically hold claim to the throne and will usurp you.”
