Koga has a funny habit.
Every one or two weeks, he would be left alone with Adonis after their rehearsals. They usually went on a walk with Leon or hang out in a coffee shop talking about whatever happened during their day. They really had gotten closer since their two seniors graduated and Koga always looked forward to these dat- meetings. It brightened his days without fail and he was grateful that Adonis stayed with him. He would never say that atloud though.
Since they started those weekly meetings, he started to notice more and more things about Adonis. The way he likes his coffee – two sugar cubes and one spoon of milk, the way his eyes glistens when he talked about his family, the way his nose scrunches when he's focused on his homework, the way he smiles so softly when he pats Leon, it almost takes Koga's breath away. But he did also notice how Adonis had little to no care about his phone, always leaving it in the most open spaces without worrying about it getting stolen. So Koga, being the good friend that he is, keeps it most of the time with him.
It all started when Adonis was busy talking with a fan. They had been chatting about UNDEAD's upcoming drama for awhile. Adonis was fidgeting around talking about how much his unitmates had helped him understand the motives behind his character. And even if Koga loved to see his partner be this enthusiastic about their new project, he was starting to get bored. He was sitting on a bench, holding the other's phone in his hands and looked at his wallpaper. His bland wallpaper. The default one. He huffed as he unlocked the phone, because of course Adonis didn't have a password. He wondered what he could change the wallpaper for. He looked at Leon who had been nimbling his shoe. He shook his head. Adonis wouldn't mind that, him and Leon were close buddies after all. Then he saw Zakki at the entry of the school carrying his sword and running after Hakaze-senpai. He snickered as he quickly took a picture of this scene. He had perfectly captured the fear of his dear bandmate's face.
''Oogami, we can go now.'' Adonis said. He got up and went up to him smiling like a kid who stole candies from a shop.
''Yer sister sent you a text, ya should answer her ~'' He innocently gave him the phone back. Adonis nodded as he took it. Stared at it for seven solid seconds. Looked back at Koga. Stared at it again. He sighed and mumbled a complaint but the other could see a hint of a smile.
''Hey Adonis, hey wait for me would'ya.. hey!'' He screamed as he saw Adonis speed-walking towards the library.
The day after, Adonis' wallpaper was changed back to his boring old one. He probably had asked Glasses to help him out. And so, that's how his weekly routine started: everytime Koga was able to get his hands on the other boy's phone, he would change it's background to a stupid thing that made him laugh harder than it should. A picture of Adonis getting surprised by that energetic kid from his club, another one where he spat his boba tea on Zakki, and finally Koga's personal favorite: the one where Sakuma-senpai tripped over his own coffin, headbutting the wall.
So everything was going well, it was just a silly game between the two of them. Well three since Glasses was the one ''fixing'' the mess Koga made each time. That was probably the reason why Makoto glared at him whenever they made eye-contact in the hallways and pretty much begged him to just confess everytime they were alone. He brushed it off, the Great Oogami Koga didn't need love advices from anyone, especially not from that wimp.

At the end of UNDEAD's rehearsal, Adonis asked the grey-haired if he wanted to try out that new restaurant. What a terrible idea actually. Koga was sitting right in front of Adonis. They were eating ice cream and Koga was trying Really Hard to not stare at the other's lips. Instead he chose to focus on Adonis' phone that was right in front of him, his fingers twitching at the idea of messing with it again.
He wondered what he would change it to this time, and what reaction Adonis would have; would he chuckle and shrug it off or would he complain about the other being childish? Adonis interrupted his thoughts as he excused himself to the washroom. He grabbed the phone without the ounce of hesitation, excited to repeat once again his shenanigans.
He unlocked it and.. what the hell. He must have let out a weird noise because the other customers glared at him. He glared back because fuck them, he was in a crisis and he didn't give a shit about them anyways. Koga looked back at the phone, someone had to have put something not legal in his ice cream.
Did Adonis really have a picture of the two of them on stage, smiling and holding eachother in a not-very-bro way set as his phone's background ?
As he looked closely at their outfits, it was probably taken after one of the Nightless World concerts, and you could see Sakuma and Hakaze-senpai in the background, waving at the crowd. He smiles as he recalls the memory, that was one of the time he truly felt like he belonged right next to them as an equally as important UNDEAD member. He still remembers the way the crowd shouted their unit's name as if their life depended on it, the thrill he felt as he did his guitar's solo in front of them. The live also made him get closer to Hakaze-senpai, close enough for the blonde to know about Koga's kind of obvious crush on Adonis. They really had come so far. He shook his head, it wasn't the time to be nostalgic.
How did Adonis even get his hands on this in the first place? Why would he choose this one in particular? Did he even know what he was doing to Koga's heart at the moment?
He drank a glass of water, trying to keep himself together and failing miserably. His face felt really hot for obvious reasons. He also put his partner's phone back in it's original place, maybe he could pretend this incident never happened.
''Are you alright, Oogami ? Your face is a bit.. red.'' Adonis asked, as he sat on his chair. Koga does a thumbs-up because he knows that he would just stutter an incoherent answer, like a middle-schooler would when asked if he had a crush on anyone. The purple-haired nods and taps on his phone screen, to check what time is it. ''Mmh, my sister asked me to go shopping with her today. I should go.'' He packed his stuff, got up and started walking towards the door. Koga catched his hand before he was too far. The grey-haired needed answers.
''Adonis. I don't wanna weird ya out but.. where did you get yer phone's background ?'' Koga said, looking everywhere but the other's face.
''Hakaze-senpai sent me this picture after he saw the photo you took of the twins drawing on his face while he was asleep. Does that you uncomfortable ? I'll ask Yuuki to change it back.'' Adonis answered, his usually warm gaze seemed worried. He really thought that it could have made Koga upset, when in reality Koga was both thanking and cursing Hakaze-senpai for what he did, that sly fox definitely knew what he was doing when he sent that picture to his junior. ''Oogami? I'm sorry I didn't ask you first..'' His tone sounded sad, it made Koga's chest feel heavy suddenly. He had to clear up the misunderstanding.
''Huh? Y-ya didn't do anythin' wrong.. I was just surprised, that's it.'' He patted the other's shoulder as he said this, hoping that he wouldn't notice the blush forming on Koga's face. ''Ya don't have to change it. I like it.'' He muttered, half-hoping that Adonis wouldn't hear it. By the way his face looks, he did.
''I'm relieved. To be honest with you, I was hoping you would say that. I like this picture a lot, you looked so happy I can't help but smile when I see it.'' He chuckled fondly as Koga's brain was pretty much short-circuiting at this point. His phone ringed, he answered his call and frowned ''Yes.. yes. I'm on my way.'' He then looked at Koga apologetic, he signed ''It's my sister, see you later.'' and left right after. Koga waved weakly.
When Adonis was no longer on his line of sight, he suddenly gained the ability to breath again. What the hell just happened? He bit his fist trying to keep track of his thoughts. The customers were looking at him funnily after witnessing their whole interaction and the mess he had become. He raised his middle finger as he sprawled himself on his table.
Needless to say that he stopped changing Adonis' background after that.
