He held him like the precious gem that he was, gently rocking and softly humming, lulling him to a sweet sweet slumber, but baby Gui Wang just cackled and tried reaching for the strand of silken hair.
Kunlun-Jun could only let out a deep guffaw when the tiny chubby hands tightly clutched onto the lock. His voice filled with sweet adoration for the bundle of cuteness, “Why are you not sleeping, Xiao Wei?”
“Kul-Kullul,” little Gui Wang babbled, his voice adorably babyish, but then he burst into another round of cackles as he quickly had the strand of hair in his mouth.
Kunlun’s eyes widened, a smile graced his lips to find baby Gui Wang chomping on the strand of hair, the hair sticking out at the corners of his little mouth.
Kunlun sighed, “Wish you had half the hunger for real food, Xiao Gui.”
With a light tug, the hair was out of Gui Wang’s mouth and hands. He quickly looked at his small chubby hands that were now empty and then gazed up at Kunlun, and before the man could even react, the doe eyes were shimmering with unshed tears, and soon the silence of Kunlun-Jun’s chamber was broken with loud wails.
The divinity sighed and cradled the baby close to his heart, now swaying him side to side, but Baby Gui Wang was not in the mood. He was now hiccuping, his small button nose was a Rudolph-y shade of pink as the tears never stopped cascading his chubby cheeks.
And as mentioned earlier, baby Gui Wang did not have an appetite for baby food, normal food. The adorable tantrum was finally tamed with an offering of more hair.
Kunlun-Jun laid on his side, propped on his elbow, hand supporting his head, and his eyes affectionately fixated on a peacefully sleeping small Gui Wang under a blanket of deep brunette tresses.
Kunlun could feel his heart swell in adoration when Gui Wang clutched the hair tighter in his small pudgy hands.
