Chapter Text

One night on a sleepy farm in the outskirts of Wales, a young couple sits. They on the outside seem not extraordinary, they just seem like two youngsters in love. A young family that’s just starting. But in reality, these two were magical. The husband, a kind man very athletic, tall, and very handsome is from a pure-blooded family of Peverell his name is James, James Fleamont Potter. Now his wife, she was everything to him, she is stubborn, strong, loving, brave, and drop-dead gorgeous. She has long red hair emeralds for her eyes, freckles kissing her whole body. One of her smiles could make you happy for a million years but her scowl you are about to get your ass kicked in a matter of seconds. She didn’t come from a respectable wizard family, she had a completely different upbringing than her husband. She had no idea about magic and was taught it was a load of rubbish as a kid. She is what you would call muggle-born, meaning she is a first-generation witch, her name is Lily Potter née Evans.

It was late January it was freezing in Wales.-30 Celsius to be more accurate. The Potters were huddled close together on the couch listening to the roaring fire. Two of their dogs are sitting close as well, all sitting thanking Merlin that they can still have moments like this even though there is a raging war going on. Even though there are a million other things to worry about they are beyond thankful that they can still have moments like this.

James smiled softly to himself. “Why can’t we always have this Lils?” He asked, putting a hand on his wife’s stomach. “This war is tearing everything apart, everyone.” James could feel Lily tense up a bit.

Lily sighed, and put one of her hands on top of James’. “I know how you feel, everyone is so tense.” She tilted her head so she could make eye contact with James. He had two very opposed emotions swirling in his eyes of both bliss and concern. “Remus and Sirius both are growing farther apart, Peter has been pushing us away. Dorcas and Marls are still in hiding. I haven’t heard from Mary since Christmas. And the Longbottoms haven’t had a day off since they became Aurors. And everyone thinks that everyone is working for Voldmort.”

Lily sat her head on James’ neck. There was an uncomfortable silence, both lost in thought. James knew he shouldn’t have brought up the war, it brought up so many memories, but it has been in the front of his mind ever since they tried to kidnap Remus in his fifth year. Lily interrupted his train of thought when she slightly moved closer to him. He looked down at her.

A serious expression was on her face. The type of look that can breakstone. “Promise that this war won’t tear us apart.” James was dumbfounded, he laughed awkwardly. But the look Lily had in her eyes was anything but laughable. “James, you’re everything to me. So just say it, please.” James’ stomach dropped, he smiled sadly.

He took both of his hands, setting both on her cheeks. “Of course, this won’t affect us. We are having a child Lily, a child. I’m sorry to say but you’re stuck with me.” Lily gave a ghost of a smile but it quickly faded. “I promise. I have never loved anyone more than you.” James leaned in and pressed his lips on hers. Their lips moved in a harmonized motion. Oh yes, Lily was everything that James could ever want, at one point he would have done anything to go on a date with the redhead. Now he’s married to her, and they have a kid on the way! What can be more perfect than that? James thought to himself. Then again… Lily hasn’t been the only person to make him feel like this. But it didn’t matter he didn’t care what he had to say! James was a grown man, not a schoolboy anymore. He was well over Regulus. Well over him. Right? Of course. Lily moves her hands up to James’ already messy rats nest for hair. James’ was snapped back to reality. For Merlin's sake, why was he thinking about his ex when he was snogging his wife? James pulled away only enough for their foreheads to touch. “Nothing bad is going to happen to us, ok?”

Lily widely smiled showing off her perfectly white teeth. “All right, I’m starting to believe you, Mr. Potter.” James felt her hands that were on his head move down to his neck, and with one slight motion she pulled him down on top of her. James started to quietly laugh, Lily soon started laughing. Her angelic laugh would make the toughest man fall to his knees.

“Well, that’s the goal, Mrs. Potter.” James loved calling her ‘Mrs. Potter’ for two reasons the first being he’s been wanting this since he was in the first year and two it's made him sound so adult. Sure he might only be 19 but being married made him feel so much older. Made him have more responsibility, but then again they are in a war. The normalcy that two words can give him ‘Mrs. Potter’. Nothing could change how James felt, nothing. -

Another day has passed in the remote farm in Wales, every day has the same routine, James telling Lily that she should stay home for the baby, Lily saying she doesn’t care and that she needs to fight, Lily leaves, James sets the food out for all their animals, and then Sirius comes to complain that Remus has been spending too much time with the werewolves, Sirius and James go to meet Dumbledore, do their mission, he and Sirius go to a bar, Sirius gets wasted, James takes him home, go home, repeat. Not the healthiest cycle and James can be the first to tell you. But it’s one of those you can’t break.

This night, however, changes the rest of his life. Now, it was in the middle of the night, James and Lily cuddling close together. Lily was fast asleep but James was wide awake. He heard a loud noise, though it was just his giant gorilla. He just roams around the house. But, it didn't sound like something crashing on the ground. It sounded like a knock, loud just enough, but very urgent.

James reaches his hand towards his wand, “Accio wand” just then his wand flies into his hand. He slowly gets out of their bed. As he was walking to the door, the floor was cold and creaking with every step. James approaches the door handle, opening it gently ready to strike whoever is on the other side of the door. The door finally opened revealing someone he hasn’t seen in a year.

“I need help,”
