Work Text:

“Oh, finally, home…” Stiles walked inside the house, feeling exhausted as he collapsed on the sofa.

“What’s happened to him?” Derek asked as he saw Jackson follow him and sat on the other sofa.

“Trying to save Jackson from anyone who wants to crown him as a lizard king for a cult,” Stiles replied as he rubbed his eyes and added, “Did you know that there is a lizard cult?”

“No, that’s news to me,” Derek replied and could see how tired Stiles is, knowing that his mate couldn’t sleep anyway.

“Someone makes Jackson a king?” Scott asked as he sat beside Stiles and gave him a cup of coffee.

“Thank you, Scotty,” Stiles acknowledged him and sip it slowly, before he replied, “Yes, can you believe it?”

“Hey,” Jackson retorted with a smile, and then he continued, “They wanted me to stay and be their cult leader.”

“Jackson, did you shift in front of them?” Derek asked, flashing his red eyes toward his beta.

“It happened by accident, alpha, it’s not like I wanted it to happen,” Jackson replied, flashing his blue eyes toward him.

“It’s okay, luckily nothing bad had happened, he was lucky his mama Stiles took care of the situation,” Stiles calmed Jackson as he looked over his mate, giving Derek a smug grin as his brown eyes sparkled.

“Go to sleep, Jackson, you too, Scott, unless you want me to make breakfast,” Derek told them, he heard them whining, and knew that they preferred Stiles’s food as he added, “Stiles needs his beauty sleep.”

Once they left, Derek helped his mate to move over to their bedroom.

“Is it being terrible with him shifting in front of the people?” Derek asked.

“No, I think that it proved their agenda corrected,” Stiles replied and added with a chuckle, “There are lizard people in the world, Jackson is a proof to it, even though he is a hybrid.”
