Chocky!

Summary:

"Dun' wan' angel milk.. Wan' chocky milk!"

Work Text:

Komaeda didn't know why. He really didn't. But something just didn't feel right today. And it was upsetting, in a certain sense. He just didn't feel all that happy, and not feeling happy definitely wasn't a favorite feeling. Especially since him and Hajime began dating, he started to begin to believe that feeling unhappy wasn't something all good and he shouldn't just shrug it off. Therefore, he spent a little bit of his morning just... Overthinking. Which, really, that wasn't a good thing this morning. Specifically this morning. Hinata was sitting down at the table, humming as he scrolled through his phone as Nagito was supposed to be making cinnamon pancakes. Pancakes were so easy, so he thought he could do that all on his own and make some for the brunette but instead he kind of ended up.. Not making pancakes. Somehow, his mind started getting really stressed; just with how bad he felt for an unknown reason and how he was mentally fighting tooth and nail to figure out why. His muscle memory went straight for something entirely different, that being grabbing a pot instead of a bowl and pancake maker and filling it with water. He was instinctively making mac and cheese.

This wasn't something that Hajime noticed at first; though he was confused as to why he heard the sink running for water, he didn't bother because he thought that maybe pancakes did need water. Or even if they didn't, it would probably make it more fluffy; more of a Komaeda brand, in a sense, which sounded nice when he thought about it. Then he heard the water boiling and just got confused at that point. The brown haired boy shut off his phone, setting it down on the table as he looked over to the stove. There he saw a large sized pot in the corner as the water inside it began to bubble and fizz, the cloudette kind of childishly looking around for three boxes of mac and cheese. His hands made grabby motions around the counter, eventually grabbing some nearby and opening it. He seemed concentrated, despite the fact that he was so off task and he hardly even noticed it. Hajime couldn't be *sure* as to what was going on, but he was 80% sure that he was slipping. And that was a bit worrying, since usually Komaeda would regress to something like three or five; *not* a good age to be cooking something.

"Nagito? It's not dinner yet, silly," he chuckled, standing from his place and walking beside the cloudette. Said cloudette was startled, making a sudden "ah!" noise. He seemed more out of his trance now, but he was still focused on pouring the raw pasta into the pot. "I kn'.." He mumbled, accidentally slipping a bit; and he noticed it. He quickly covered it up, trying to deny the idea that he was slipping. He didn't even know why he was doing that, so why should he? That would just bring so much trouble to the other, and more trouble was the last thing that he wanted for him. "I know, I just changed my mind. I think. Mac and cheese sounded really good." He mostly just outed himself with that statement; he only really really wanted mac and cheese when he needed to regress. Other times he'd be more specific about what kind he wanted instead of just the plain. Hinata knew this for a fact, so he shook his head with a smile. "Okay, kitten- would you like me to make it for you?" He hummed in a soft tone, trying to make it as comforting as possible. The pale one shivered at the slightest, knowing that kitten was only a word that Hajime would use for him when regressed. And he didn't seem that bothered by having to use that name, so Komaeda assumed that he just accepted he was regressing and would go through with it. But it was still bothersome to him, right? It had to be. "Nn... No. I can do it myself, I'm fine, Da- Hajime. I promise I'll make it really good for us both," he stated, grabbing a mixing spoon and stirring the pot around. "You're doing it too forcefully, kitten, I think I should be making it. And you need to regress. It's okay," the brunette smiled. His hand went over to take the spoon himself, calming it down and preventing hot droplets from being stirred out of the bowl. Nagito being burnt all of the sudden would just make this horrible when it really didn't have to be.

"I know you don't want to," he spoke again, his voice understanding; as if he just read the other boy's mind, "but it would be better if you did, okay?" He placed the softest of kisses on the other boy's head, and he felt as if he'd just melt on the spot. "Mm.. But I dunn' why.." he whined, beginning to slip even more. It still wasn't all that willing of a slip, but it was at least more willing than it had been before. "That's okay. If you need to regress, then you can," Hajime continued to assure, and that was just enough to get the cloudette to fully slip. The pale one sat down on the floor in a messy posture, his hands still making grabby motions as they did before. The brown haired one looked over to him, a soft smile on his face as he tried to finish up on the mac and cheese. "Okay, how old are you right now, kitten?" He asked, and the other held up three fingers. That was his usual age when he regressed, so it was expected. The tan one nodded, emptying all the water out of the pot. "Got it. And you still want mac and cheese, right?" He followed up, smiling a bit wider. An excited nod came right after, the other boy almost jumping up and down. "Mhm! Mhm!" He hummed happily, then adding, "with cweam cheese pwease!" He could feel his mouth water to the idea of the comfort food being finished and made in the pure way that Hajime made it.

The brunette took the mac and cheese back into the pot, being freshly emptied of water, and immediately took to grabbing milk and the flavor, and of course the cream cheese as requested. "Of course. While it's settling in, do you want anything else?" He would finally ask. The white headed boy thought for a minute, before nodding his head in an enthusiastic manner. "Mhm! Onezie! Um... Paci'! Blanky!" He went off listing the usual things he wanted when he was little, in which the tan one nodded to all of them. "Got it. I'll get you all of those in a bit, just sit down on a chair instead okay?" He bent over to the little, picking him up and setting him over in the nearby chair that Hinata was previously in. The pale one looked over to the phone that was set on the table, and clapped his hands together. "Can I play on your phone while wait?" He asked, smiling softly and rocking back and forth.

The tan boy thought for a minute, before shrugging his shoulders. "Sure, but it won't be for long," he answered, smiling softly as he walked away to find the box labeled "agere box". It was up in their shared closet, and it was full of basically everything. It only wasn't when something out of it had to be clean. He pulled it down, scrounging through it to figure which onezie and which blanket the white haired boy wanted. He guessed the softest ones, the onezie being a cute Hello Kitty-esc kind of onezie, with the designs having some of the characters along with kitten ears and a bow on the hood. The blanket was just plain lavender but it was really fluffy and soft on both sides, that being a reason that Nagito really loved it and depended on it more than other blankets in that box. As for the 'paci', that wasn't exactly something that Komaeda had a favoring or preference for. He just took whatever one they had, and they were all just good really. He grabbed whatever one he saw first, then deciding to just grab one of the milk bottles. They weren't prepared with milk obviously, the bottles themselves were just stored in there to keep it all collected and organized. And when he would take it, he could probably make some angel milk or the other. While it wasn't asked for, he assumed that the cloudette would want some.

He headed back into the kitchen, to find the little watching some video on youtube that seemed to be directed towards younger audiences. Thankfully, it wasn't anything inherently worthless of quality, as Komaeda knew way better than that. "Okay, I'm back," Hinata announced, holding out the things to Komaeda outside of the empty bottle. The pale one squealed in excitement, setting the phone down as the video still played and took the things for himself. "Do you need help with the onezie, kitten?" The brunette asked, just wanting to make sure. It definitely wasn't a good idea to let him put it on himself if he wasn't sure of if he even could. "Mm... Yeah!" The albino nodded enthusiastically, standing up to jump up and down. He held on to the blanket and put the paci in his mouth, using that instead of his thumb thankfully. Hajime took the onezie, helping the other in it carefully. It was a loose onezie for him, since he sometimes wanted it in warm weathers therefore having a hot onezie pressed against him wasn't a good idea. This made the hood so big that it just covered his eyes. That didn't make him love it any less, though, as he still wrapped his arms around it and sunk into its softness. "Now, I think that I should make some angel milk for you, right?" The brunette hummed, meaning it mostly as a rhetorical question but that wasn't what it was to the other. "N'!" He sputtered, unable to fully say the word 'no'; but it was pretty obvious that that was what he meant. The tan boy looked at him curiously, pausing what he was about to do to instead hear out the other. The cloudette finished out what he wanted to say, "Dun' wan' angel milk.. Wan' chocky milk!" Hinata made an 'o' shape with his mouth as he nodded his head in understanding. "Chocky?" He asked in a hum, pulling out the gallon of chocolate milk from the fridge and holding it up. The white headed one nodded excitedly, the amount of his nods being uncountable unless you were truly paying attention to them. "Chocky!" He squealed, sucking on his paci harder afterwards.

The brown headed one set the gallon down on the counter, taking the bottle once again. He filled it up with the chocolate milk, figuring he didn't have to add anything since it was already pretty sweet as it was. "Thank the brown cow you got this from, okay?" He joked as he handed the little the bottle, a chuckle following. "Thank you brown cow!" Nagito laughed, saying it as if he believed it was real even if he didn't. The brunette then figured that the mac and cheese settled in enough, heading back over as he grabbed a bowl for the other. "Hey Koko-kitten, c'mere for a second," he smiled, as the other wobbled over to the stove, peering over. "Tell me when to stop pouring it, okay?" The white headed little nodded, watching intensively as the spiky haired brunette used a spoon to fill up the bowl slowly. Eventually, the cloudette shouted "Done!" He took the bowl, setting himself back at the table. He was all cuddled up and looked extremely cozy as he tried to eat the breakfast on his own without any help; and doing that was kind of difficult for him. Hinata noticed. "I'll help you in a minute, I just want to get myself some too," he said, stuffing up his own bowl in a hurried manner. Once he was done, he did as he said he would and began helping out the other in eating the mac and cheese. "Mmmm!" The boy hummed, quite obviously finding it beyond delicious.

Later on, they ended up cuddling on the couch, watching some random show that they liked. After a while, Nagito began slipping out of his little space, after waking up from a nap in the other's arms. It'd only been a few hours, when usually his little space would last a bit longer than that. At least half of the day, or until they woke up the next morning. Not that slipping out was particularly bad at this time, it really wasn't, it was just odd compared to other times. Just as the rest of this day. He immediately went to asking about it, because truly it was just confusing overall. And he thought he remembered the brunette mentioning that they could talk about it later and figure it out, so now would be a good time. "Haji..." He mumbled, snuggling into the boy's chest. "Mhm?" He hummed, narrowing his eyes. "I'm not little anymore.. But um... I don't really know why I regressed." He went right to the topic he wished to reach, looking up at the other with wide eyes. "That's okay. Do you always need a reason?" Hajime asked, smiling softly, "Because I don't think so. You needed to regress so you needed to regress. That's all. I wouldn't think that there absolutely had to be a reason for it." The white haired boy sighed, shrugging his shoulders. "I dunno. I just didn't feel right today, but I didn't have a reason. It was weird. I haven't really thought hard about anything lately," he said, trying to still put up that he needed a reason to regress. But he didn't, and lucky for him the spiky headed one knew that much.

"And that's fine. It just happens, and since it wasn't that bad that's probably why you slipped back out so early," Hinata mentioned, answering the next possible question before it could even be asked. ".. Oh. Well, okay. I guess it's fine, I still find it kind of weird though. Plus I didn't mean to put all that on you.. I really wanted to try and make pancakes," he went on, suddenly diving into endless apologizing. Hinata shook his head, still keeping his signature soft and warm smile. "It doesn't matter. I was happy with having mac and cheese for breakfast. And I'm sure it tasted so great because you helped out," he chuckled, "plus, we can just make pancakes tomorrow." The other blushed lightly to the compliment, smiling in a dorky manner. "No way, it's because you added the cream cheese. That made it so good," he laughed, squeezing his arms around the other. "And.. I guess we could. Still cinnamon, right?" He earned a nod, along with, "Of course." The rest of that evening was absolutely filled with endless cuddling, and watching random comfort movies and shows.
