Work Text:
Ryoumen honestly hated going back home after a day's work. He never had the zeal of going back to an empty mansion that had ghosts of the past and regularly changed servants - strangers honestly - roaming about. His childhood home, which had been in the family for two hundred years now, was a place filled with void and emptiness.
Ryoumen would rather sleep in his office than going back home. He mostly optioned to just work himself until he crashed and burned so that when Uraume drove him back home, he just slept through the whispers of the crushing silence around him.
To be honest, Ryoumen had been quite alone from the moment he was born. His parents never gave him much thought or time of the day, they never really cared about him but only his achievements and failures. When they died, Ryoumen didn't feel the loss one associated with losing their parents; instead, all he felt was nothingness. Not even his ever loyal servant, Uraume, could fill the ever growing void in his heart and lift up the heavy weight of the suffocating loneliness from his broad shoulders. In order to ignore the obvious, Ryoumen drowned himself in his role of CEO of the family business and forget about it all.
Then he met Yuuji.
Yuuji was a ray of sunshine in his life - a breathe of fresh air sent by the gods to bless Ryoumen's bleak world. Ryoumen met the Omega by chance when he decided to leave his office one day and head for the café down the street of his company. When his eyes met with that of the bubbly waiter who served him, he fell head first for his now husband. The sudden urge to make Yuuji his mate appeared and Ryoumen was bespelled by Yuuji's beauty and honey and peach scent.
It became a regular occurance to see Ryoumen going to the café on his breaks. He asked specifically for Yuuji, paying for his time to chat with him. He became the café's biggest customer and Yuuji was automatically his server.
Yuuji treated him as a human being first and not the infamous CEO he was known as. Yuuji was not afraid of his massive form, nor was he deterred from talking to Ryoumen by the Alpha's cold winter blue eyes. Yuuji was happy to be in his presence, and from what Ryoumen got from his scent, it was greatly so. He was interested in the strange, socially awkward behemoth of an Alpha three times his size and that baffled Ryoumen but it also made him... glad.
One day, Yuuji got seriously sick, so he couldn't come to work. Ryoumen was disappointed but that gave him the courage to get the Omega's number from his friend, Nobara - who Ryoumen had noticed (and also read) was the Omega's best friend at work. Of course Ryoumen knew Yuuji's number and house address - courtesy of Uraume and Ryoumen's zeal to know everything about the Omega.
The Alpha worked himself over nothing, worrying himself if chatting Yuuji up was a good idea. This was the first time he was chatting/calling anyone up other than for business and one night pleasure purposes. It was honestly ridiculous how he was behaving like a lovesick teenager. In the end, he decided to go for it. And the rest, they say, was history.
Ryoumen and Yuuji went from chatting and calling each other to going out on dates and getaways. Before they knew it, they were getting married, and the next they were expecting their first child.
Ryoumen closed his eyes, a small, soft ghost of a smile on his lips as he rubbed the ring on his finger. On the back of his neck, visible for all to see, was a mating mark - courtesy of his lovely Omega on the day they bonded. He opened his eyes and stared out of the window, watching as familiar rich buildings go by. He was being driven by Uraume back home, and just like always, his heart thumped in anticipation at what was waiting for him, most especially who.
A familiar modest villa came into view and Ryoumen's smile widens at the sight of the house with trees around. The gates opened and the drove in. Ryoumen, with his briefcase in hand, walked out of the car and headed inside while Uraume parked the car.
"Tadaima." Ryoumen said out loud in that gruff, husky voice of his. He closed the door behind him and headed in. As he loosened his tie, the sound of footsteps came his way. The Alpha smiled as a heavily pregnant Yuuji, once again carring his children, waddled over to him, a maid following dutifully behind him.
"Okaerinasai, Ryou san!" Yuuji, ever bright and glowing, cheerfully greeted as he all but waddled over to his husband wearing a white kimono - bearing pink petals and having a red sash - over his heavily pregnant his form.
Ryoumen bent down and met Yuuji's chaste kiss halfway, purring under his breath when Yuuji rubbed his nose against Ryoumen's chin, kind of scent marking the behemoth of an Alpha.
"How was work?" Yuuji asked when they were apart, but he still had Ryoumen's left hand on the small of his back and his hands clenching Ryoumen's suit.
"Head inducing." Ryoumen bluntly said. "I swear those fools are useless when time is of great urgency sometimes." He grunted out, getting a chuckle from Yuuji.
"So same old, same old, I take it?" Yuuji asked, looking up at his husband with a fond exasperated look.
Ryoumen grunted in reply. "Where are Sakurairo and Ryuuta?"
Before Yuuji could reply, there was a crash coming from the kitchen and two loud "Oh oh!" said in childish voice.
"Destroying my kitchen. Again." Yuuji sighed out, getting a deep chuckle from Ryoumen. "Well, since you're home now, come help us cook."
"More like help you rein in the mini brats, Gaki." Ryoumen said in amusement but he was already removing his tie, jacket and folding up his sleeves after popping some upper buttons open. He handed them all, along with his briefcase, to the maid, who took them upstairs with a bow of her head.
Without being asked, Ryoumen easily picked up Yuuji bridal style, getting a noise of surprise from the Omega, and headed over to the kitchen with him in hand. The family of four had fun preparing their dinner, and Ryoumeb found himself chuckling at the chaotic antics of his sons.
Yes, Ryoumen had hated coming back home, but not anymore. Now he had something to look forward to at the end of the day. Yuuji had came into his dark and empty life and filled it with light and joy. Ryoumen would never trade his new found happiness for anything and will happily die for his family.
Coming home wasn't looking like a death sentence anymore.
