Summary
(Alternate universe where Fusion Reborn is canon, and created my own little headcanons for Janemba as a being, his backstory, etc).
Cell was dead. He realised he was a failure. He doesn't understand how he was promised perfection, and yet, he couldn't succeed. Even when meeting Gero in the afterlife, he can't ever make sense of it. He refuses to let his pride die, but in the 7 years between him dying and Buu coming to be, it begins to fade.
As years pass, he becomes depressed, and realises that he isn't the perfect warrior after all. Even after strange events, like Buu, and somehow getting kicked out of Hell... and being forced back. He keeps being reminded all the time that there are people stronger than him, and it begins to break him.
But the day he was kicked out and brought back, he hears of what caused it. An ancient evil, known as Janemba, whom he'd heard about in passing before. Cell was shocked to learn this legend existed, and wondered if he ever met the demon, that they could help him out of Hell...
But, when Cell does meet him... Janemba is SO MUCH MORE, than he ever bargained for...
