Brushing his teeth that night, Sinclair suddenly found himself looking at his image in the mirror as if he had never seen it before.
He remembered the second vision he had experienced during the evacuation. The one he had not told Garibaldi, or indeed anyone, about.
He had been standing in the main hallway. Not on his own station this time, but Babylon 4. Two beings of light with wings – he refused to accept the interpretation his mind all too readily provided – had been flying on either side of him. Minbari of the Warrior Caste and the strange alien he had come to know as Zathras had been approaching.
"I welcome you," he had told them.
Then a flash of light had returned him to the present.
Squinting at his image, Sinclair ran a hand through his hair. Again. And again.
Suddenly he remembered one more detail: His head had felt unusually cold.
He was pretty sure he had been bald.
