It was ironic, the newcomer had completely wiped you from the scoreboard - obviously hilarious to him. However, no won matches meant your debt kept growing exponentially. You didn't even want this job to begin with - it just paid well, better than any odd jobs you did just to get by. Avoiding him eventually became part of your daily routine.
