Ash is happy. His stay in Alola has come to an end, but, he has made many memories here, and he won't ever forget it. He's definitely going to miss his pokemons here, and professor Kukui and professor Burnet. He's also going to miss the friends he made in Alola.
They all bid him goodbye with their pokemons and with their ultra guardian suits.

Ash is thinking that he'll stay in his hometown for awhile and then go to the Galar region. He's never been there before, so he's excited to see all the new pokemons there that he hasn't seen yet.
Ash was just humming to himself when he fell asleep.
Normally, sleeping isn't horrible and nothing bad happens, but, when Ash fell asleep, something terrible did.

Ash Ketchum knew that he fell asleep in the airplane, but when he opened his eyes he saw the sight of Arceus, Mew, and all the other legendary pokemons. “Uhh...what happened?” he asked. “Hello, chosen one. I sadly inform you that something terrible happened.” Arceus telepathically said. “Huh!? Wait, where is pikachu? Is pikachu okay??” “Calm down, Satoshi. Pikachu is alright but, something happened that you might not like. The world has ended.” mew sadly said. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT THE WORLD HAS ENDED!?” Ash panicked. “The world has ended and we do not know the cause of it. But, we have sent you and pikachu's minds back to the past, same with your other pokemons, back to when you were in Kalos so the world can still go on. We don't know if it'll happen again, but still, we all hope that you'll cooperate.” Arceus said. “I...I...all those memories my friends had in Kalos and Alola....will be all gone...” Ash quietly said. “No, Ash. Even though some of their memories of you are gone, you can still be their friends again. It's your choice if you still want to meet them the same way you met them back then, or you want to change that. It's your choice to change the future or not. It's also your choice weather to tell them your from the future, since your pokemons and z-crystals from alola are also there. Even if I don't know what will happen if you approach some of the things that happened differently, I still want you to know that it's okay to change some of the things that happened.” Arceus said.
“I...see. Okay, okay. Then, I want to change some bad things that happened there!” Ash declared loudly.
Mew smiled and said, “That's the spirit.”
“Then, wake up Ash. Change the future.” Arceus ordered.

Ash woke up. He saw the date, and whispered, “This is it.... I'm back to the past.”
