Summary
The dust settles over the Citadel as dawn rises once more. The King of Kings lies cold on his throne, his Knights soon to follow, leaving one in sorrow alone. His cries reach the heavens, pleading and deafening. For his heart shone for one, but them another. The Glacian was touched by the heart that shattered, an offer she gave, a price to follow. The Knight of the Chosen King with no more left to lose pleaded with the Frostbrearer to save the life of his king. Decision he made she headed his request, gone was what was left, but chance there was to gain. Time split, rewind and reweaved. Events that had happened, lost but not forgotten. For the Knight of the Chosen King with a Glacial Heart so strong that even fate could bend to his will.

A vaguely academic examination of the phenomena behind fandom shipping and why certain non-canon ships become exceedingly popular, far overshadowing the popularity of canon ships. This essay touches on common mistakes writers make with female characters and romantic subplots, and suggests a explanation for the enduring popularity of so many m/m ships which have no chance at all of becoming canon. Examples are drawn from Avatar the Last Air Bender, Voltron Legendary Defender (god help me), and My Hero Academia.
