He was just a boy...

Summary:

Free poetry about the Ninja, Harumi, and Morro.

Work Text:

He was just a boy
When his parents died,
When he dug through trashcans for food,
When he was found by a kind stranger
When he found a home.

He was just a teen
When Destiny opened a path before him,
When the weapons of gold stayed quiet,
When his rightful Destiny was taken away,
When he disappeared into the night.
When he was welcomed by the Queen of the Cursed.

He should’ve been the Green Ninja.
Morro was just a teen when he died.

He was just a boy
When his parents vanished,
When he became the man of the house,
When he took care of his younger sister,
When his future was connected to the flames.

He was just a teen
When his sister was kidnapped (again and again and again),
When the Serpentine were released,
When a brother died,
When a brother became a ghost,
When his world collapsed.

Why did Nya have to leave him?
Kai was just a teen when he lost his sister to the ocean.

He was just a boy
When his life used to be filled with music,
When his mother danced with his father,
When trips to the hospital became frequent,
When Lilly died.

He was just a teen
When his father sent him away,
When he met his new family,
When a brother died,
When he lost his way,
When he was too late.

The clock struck six just as he arrived at the doors.
Cole was just a teen when he was forgotten…

He was just a boy
When he opened his eyes for the first time,
When his falcon became his best friend,
When he met a strange old man,
When his father became sick.

He was just a teen
When he lost his memory,
When he met his new family,
When he met the love of his life,
When the world became frigid and unforgiving,
When a smile was the last thing he did before the world became dark.

He was built to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
Zane was only a teen when he died.

He was just a boy
When he was dropped off at the boarding school,
When he ran away,
When the Green Destiny became his,
When his childhood was ripped from his grasp.

He was just a teen
When the weight of the world fell onto his shoulders,
When cages became a constant companion,
When he lost his father (again and again and again),
When he was possessed by a Spirit of Jealousy,
When his heart was broken by a broken girl.

Can he truly call himself a hero if he did not choose this path?
Lloyd was just a teen when his spirit finally broke.

She was just a girl
When her family moved to the city,
When she saw skyscrapers for the first time,
When the sky grew black and the earth shook,
When her parents died.

She was just a teen
When her heart became stone,
When the Palace burned,
When revenge and hatred consumed her,
When she saw the victims of her actions,
When her world crumbled to pieces.

How ironic her parents tried to save her from her fate.
Harumi was just a teen when she died.

Just a teen when he died- Kai (rewind time)
Just a teen when he died- Cole (does it count if you’re just a ghost…?)
Just a teen when he died- Zane (can a nindroid truly die…?)
Just a teen when he died- Lloyd (he swore he saw his grandfather…)
Just a teen when she died- Nya (she could still feel the Poison’s burn)
Just a teen when she died- Harumi (she never wanted this fate)
Just a teen when he died- Morro (a boy who had nothing, he only wanted to be something)

Jay’s only witnessed Death, blessed to have never felt its cold kiss first hand.
But Death comes for all eventually, only time will tell when the final grain of sand runs out…
