"Luffy, this is stupid."
Zoro squinted his eyes as the sun glared at him and he decided to glare right back.
"It's not so bad!" The younger boy, Luffy, beamed as he got a box of sidewalk chalk onto the ground. He opened it with carelessness, ripping the cardboard everywhere.
The older boy, Zoro, grumbled under his breath as the scorching sun left droplets of sweat gather on his temple. They were turning into seniors next year, but for now, the summer hadn't let up, even after July.
"Ta-da!" Luffy shook his hands and raised his arm for emphasis as he showed Zoro a drawing of.. a green ball? Zoro didn't really know what was going on in Luffy's head, but then again, who did?
"Luffy.. what is that?" He decided to ask because Roronoa fucking Zoro wasn't afraid of anything, not even Luffy's incomprehensive answers.
"Are you serious?" The boy asked. Then a beat. "It's you!" Then he burst out laughing like it was the funniest joke made in history.
"Ha, ha, very funny." Zoro grumbled, grabbing a sun colored chalk and drawing on the sidewalk. He made a face as it kind of resembled their friend, Sanji, also a senior. Sanji was smart, was the top of all his classes, and he was blonde. One-hundred percent Zoro's type, (plus, he had the most beautiful eyes ever!). He continued drawing until it looked like a ball of yellow? 'More like a lemon,' Zoro scoffed at his canvas, patting his hands as he finished.
"Wooahh! Is that Sanji?" Luffy chirped and Zoro almost choked on air because that was the most ridiculous statement he had ever heard, but it also was ridiculously funny.
Zoro snorted, attempting to hide a laugh and nodded at his friend.
"Yeah, looks a lot like him, right?"
