Chapter Text
It was 7:30am, the daycare had opened earlier at 7:00am for the day and the attendants were playing with the few children that were there.
Sun was drawing with the kids while Moon was putting on a sock-puppet show despite having no interest in it himself, but he did it to entertain the kids.
Because of how early it was, many of the regular children that come to the daycare hadn’t arrived yet.
The daycare’s wooden door slowly opened to reveal a mother and her child worriedly looking around the large playground.
Sun had noticed first, practically jumping out of the small seat at the kids’ table.
“I’ll be back in a little while, friends!” Sun told the children who were sitting next to him a minute ago.
Sun skipped over to the parent and her kid with a bright smile on his face as always.
“Hello, Hello! Are you here to sign your little one up for the daycare, miss..?” Sun questioned while scanning the two.
‘This young girl is blind, I should inform Moon about that.’ Sun thought to himself as he made a mental note to tell Moon.
“Flora, Flora Birch. You are ‘Sun’ I suppose?..” The mother answered while opening her mouth to speak again, but Sun had beaten her to it.
“Yep! And who might this little ray of sunshine be?” Sun questioned while looking at the young girl who was practically clinging onto her mother for dear life.
“Her name is Sarah, she’s blind and I was hoping that you may have some type of way to keep an eye on her.. I just worry that something will go wrong.” The mother expressed her concerns to Sun as he listened close.
“Don’t worry, Ms.Birch. We at the Superstar Daycare will always make sure our friends are safe and sound!” He continued, “My partner Moon and I are equipped with a set of bells to help certain people find us, is there anything else I should know?” Sun questioned.
“Oh, um, yes actually! Sarah is allergic to a lot of things. I've packed her lunch so you won't have to worry about getting certain foods just for her.” The parent said as she handed a unicorn themed lunch box to the Sun-themed attendant.
“Okay, I have added that in my memory banks so I won’t forget.” Sun replies as the mother turns to her daughter.
“Sarah, honey, mommy has to go to work now so please behave for Mr. Sun, alright?” The mom said as she hugged the kid.
“O-okay mama, promise you’ll be back soon?” Sarah asked her mom.
“Of course, honey. You’ll be just fine here in the meantime though!” The mom said while trying to hide the nervousness in her voice as her and the kid exchanged goodbyes.
Sun had walked over to Sarah and gently took hold of one of her hands, “Hi friend, I know you must be nervous but don’t worry, I’ll always be here to help you! All you have to do is shout my name and I’ll be there in a flash!” Sun said as the girl felt his wrist, she noticed the feel of the ribbons and bell.
As they turned to walk over to an empty play-mat next to one of the play structures, Sun had placed the lunchbox on a nearby table for sake-keeping until lunchtime. His bells ringing and jingling at the slightest movement.
“Friend, would you like a fidget toy to play with?” Sun asked softly not wanting to startle the little girl as he sat her down.
“Yes please!” The girl said as Sun let go of her to grab a few toys.
There was a box of toys next to the certain play structure they were sitting by, so Sun didn’t have to go far to grab some.
As he went back to the girl and supervised her playing for a little while, he had messaged Moon using a new communication system management had made for the animatronics.

“Moonstone, there is a blind child named Sarah who needs extra supervision. Keep an eye on her please! I’m sending you the data now.”
“Alright, noted. I’ll take a look and save the data to my memory bank.”

1:00pm
The daycare attendants had just finished the childrens’ snack time and began supervising playtime once again.
Sun had taken his eyes off of the girl for a minute to check another parent in, but something interrupted him.
1 message from DA Moon
“Sun, we have rulebreakers. Found some brats picking on that one girl, Sarah.”
“How dare they! I’d better give them a stern talking to, you tend to Sarah for me please.”
“Gotcha. You better ban those little shits too, they’ve been bullying the littlest ones for months now.”
“Okay, don’t call them that in front of the parents please.”
“No promises, darling.”
——————————————————
‘Darling?!’ Sun thought to himself as his fans started to run faster, he could feel himself heating up.
‘He was just teasing me! Yep! Ignore it!’ Sun tried to convince himself in his mind as he shook his head, ridding himself of those thoughts.
——————————————————
A few minutes later
Sun was now telling the three kids to not bully others, basically a “treat others how you want to be treated” speech. They didn’t take him seriously and had started to throw toys and crayons at his face.
“You three should be ashamed of yourselves! It is NOT nice to throw things at people, especially your caretakers!” Sun said while picking up the things they threw at him.
“You’re just a stupid oversized toaster! We don’t have to listen to you!” One of the kids said.
“Yeah! My mom would never make me listen to a dumb machine!” Another one of them chimed in.
“That’s ENOUGH! I’m contacting all of your parents and telling them how rude and mean you’ve all been to your fellow playmates and friends!” Sun yelled as he practically dragged the kids by their collars to the security desk.
Sun informed the person at the desk what was going on and soon enough there were three angry parents and Sarah’s worried mother at the door.
As they entered, Sun had explained the situation to all of them. Sun turned his attention to Sarah’s mother who was looking around trying to find something.
“Where is Sarah? Is she okay!?” Her mother asked with concern.
“Miss Birch, Moon is currently tending to her needs, and will bring her over here if you wish to take her home.” Sun said,
“I deeply apologize for not looking after her as you asked.” He added.
“Oh dear.. yes, please bring her over here.” Flora replied as she sighed,
“Yes, she is alright. I will have Moon bring her over. Again, I truly apologize for not doing my job correctly.” Sun said as he felt a pool of guilt in his circuits.
——————
“Moon, please bring Sarah over to the main entrance. Her mother is here to pick her up.”
“M’kay, give me a minute.”
——————
Moon brought Sarah over to her mother and apologized for the three childrens’ behavior, he waved them off as they left. His attention was now facing the three confused and slightly pissed off parents.
“I’m sorry for calling you all here but your children have been being very bad! Moon and I have warned them multiple times to quit this behavior and they will not listen.” Sun explained to the parents of the kids as some of their gazes went to the three kids who were nervously looking around.
One of the parents dragged their kid out by the ear as they whined and cried, and another scolded him for embarrassing themselves as they headed out. The third however, reacted differently.
“My child has done nothing wrong! My sweet Kevin is an angel, stop making things up you stupid hunk of junk!” The mother said as she walked up to Sun.
“Ma’am, everything I am saying is true. Your son has been nothing but trouble these past few months with multiple warnings!”
“Where are the employees?!? I’d like to speak to a REAL PERSON for once!!” The lady yelled.
Before either of them could react, the woman walked closer and slapped Sun on the face. The sound echoed throughout the now dead silent daycare.
Before she could land another hit, a certain moon-themed animatronic had shoved her away, now standing in front of Sun.
“Unfortunately miss, Fazbear entertainment does not condone violence of any way, shape, or form. We will have to ask you to vacate the premises, otherwise we will have to force you to leave.” Moon spoke up as he looked the lady dead in the eye.
“I will NOT listen to you stupid MACHINES!!” The woman screeched as she went to try and hit Moon, but before she could he picked her up by the back of her shirt.
The lady had started kicking and screaming like a toddler to be put down.
“PUT ME DOWN YOU IDIOT THING!!!” The woman screamed.
“You have been banned from the Superstar Daycare, please don’t come back. Bye!” Moon said with a grin on his face ignoring her words as he kicked her out of the daycare, slamming the doors in her face inhumanly fast.
Moon had notified their manager of what happened, and she gave the celestial-themed duo the ‘ok’ to close the daycare early for the day.
The slap from the woman had left a small mark on Sun’s cheek, so later on Moon had taken Sun to parts and services to have it fixed.

4:00pm, in the closed daycare..
When they got back, Sun had walked in and stopped after a few feet. Moon was following close behind him so he stood still ready to question his friend.
“Sunlight, are you alright?” Moon asked as his once neutral face expression turned to one of worry.
“Y-yeah… I’m ok.” Sun replied as he put his hand on upper arm and rubbed it up and down, trying to convince Moon.
“Sun, we shared the same body for years. I can tell when you’re upset.” Moon said as he walked over to Sun who was visibly trembling.
“Sorry Moon it’s just, I’m tired of being treated like I don’t- no. Like WE don’t have feelings! Just because we’re robots doesn’t mean we can’t have feelings!” Sun explained as Moon wrapped him into a hug.
“I know Sun, I know.” Moon replied quietly as Sun hugged him back, Sun was sniffling and sobbing as oily tears streamed down his faceplate.
“W-we’re REAL! We aren’t just metal and bolts! I-“ Sun was cut off by Moon, who was currently rubbing little circles in his counterpart’s back in an attempt to calm him down.
“Shh, shh, It’s okay, you’re okay Sunshine.” Moon replied, whispering into the side of Sun’s faceplate.
“They’re WRONG! WRONG, WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG!” Sun repeated multiple times as Moon kept comforting him,
“I KNOW THEY ARE!! I-if we don’t have feelings, then how did I fall in love with you?!” Sun yelled as he hugged Moon even tighter.
“You… what?” Moon asked, surprised at this sudden comment.
“I LOVE YOU! Okay! I always have!” Sun confessed.
“Sun.. I-“ Moon tried to finish,
“I KNOW you probably don’t feel the same way! I-I’m sorry!!” Sun said as he cut Moon off.
“SUN.” Moon said loudly to get his attention,
“I love you too.” Moon said as he slightly backed out of the hug, cupping Sun’s cheeks while wiping his black tears away.
“Y-you do?!” Sun asked, clearly confused and flustered.
“Yes!! Honestly, I thought I was being too obvious with all the nicknames I gave you!” Moon said as he chuckled lightly, beginning to heat up.
“Moonstone..”
“Sunshine..”
Moon looked into Sun’s crystal blue eyes, leaning in as the two shared a passionate kiss.
…
“I guess you could say.. I’m over the MOON for you. Get it?!?” Sun asked as he started giggling, faceplate still slightly stained with oil.
“You’re such a dork, Sunlight.” Moon said with an unimpressed chuckle.
“Yeah, but I’m YOUR dork!” Sun said as he saw Moon’s once red led eyes turn into hearts.
“That you are, my love.” Moon replied with a smug grin.
