Chapter Text
Skeppy really wished he hadn't gone out at night today. So when he stumbles across a demon- or the demon runs into him- all he has to say is, "Nope." Yah, is he scared? Somewhat, but he really doesn't want to deal with whatever BS this is. Cuz apparently, the world just hates him! THANK YOU!! :p
----
Bad was humming to himself as he went looking to pluck some flowers. He was thinking of making some potions later, or maybe making some more dye?
Well, whatever hes making was sure to be fun! Now let's see.. Where are the daisies-
He had to stop a yelp as a wandering human just went past him, he stayed still. The human didn't seem to acknowledge him, too entranced in what it was doing.
*------*------*
Skeppy wasn't really doing anything, in fact, actually, he was. His mind wandering as he muttered a bunch of curses under his breath.
How could they do this to him? They do this every year!- No, it's fine. It's alright, all he has to do is make it till morning. Besides, those childish stories where all phony. He's just doing this to get some credibility, get a girl- probs - and be heard. Tho he wasn't too fond of frostbite. What was up with the weather lately?
He walked through the forest, arms around himself to block off the cold. It was quite chilly as the leaves where somewhat frosted, almost as if the leafs had gotten frostbite themselves. He was only wearing a thin white shirt and snug black workout sweatpants.
But he wasn't stupid, he at least brought a sheathed knife and pocketed it. He was no genius, but he was pretty sure rabbid rabbits or something like that existed in the forest, why else would they set up those obnoxious gates?
While Skeppy crunched on leaves and sticks, Bad followed him out of curiosity. What could that human be thinking about? Skeppy was oblivious to the humanoid creature following him, which was making it harder for Bad. Bad kept getting twacked with branches and more than once he had to squat to avoid getting struck in the face. He muttered a couple, 'Muffins!' Or, 'Holy muffin!' to himself in his head, parting his lips as if speaking.
That was until FINALLY, the human stopped to rest.
*------*------*
Skeppy sat on a giant rock to reflect, what had he gotten into?
He cried, tears rolling down onto his face, neck. He didn't care about the animals that stared at him, or the judging sharp looks of the crows and squirrels. He wiped them away, All this, just so I'm not lonely? So I'm not judged? He doesn't like this this, he sighed, not one bit.
A loud crunch broke him from his thoughts. He narrowed his eyes and scanned the forest, he saw.. White eyes!? Another glance and it was gone.
Bad had taken a sharp breath and stilled. Shoot! Why did he- AHHH! What does he even do?! Shoot, shoot, shoot!
He closed his eyes so the white didn't illuminate the rest of his stilled figure. He moved swiftly, moving to the other side of the forested area framing the clearing. He couldn't get caught. If he did the human might scream and alert the others! Speaking of which, now that he realizes, the human is all alone. What could a human be doing straying away from protection, the ease and familiarity of the village?
?
That's when it struck him.
Right! How could he forget!? They close the big bulky gates every night, for what he doesn't know. But, did the human accidentally get locked out? He should help.
Bad did have somewhat an idea as to why, but he made himself believe it was something else. Steadily he approached closer, it was quite easy since he was Demon, and they where known for stealth. Though once in a while he tripped and stumbled. He didn't want to frighten the human, so he pulled up his dark hood. Not that the human would be able to even really make out his features, expect maybe for the horns.
Bad was a tall being, with curved horns on full display, dark skin, white eyes that shone even in the light, sharp fangs, clawed predatory hands, and stiff feathered wings when fully stretched where about as big as two grown humans for the length, and wide as two cows. He definitely wouldn't be someone you would want to mess with, or maybe you would. Bad was actually quite fond of everyone he met, not so much the weapons they carried with them. He had actually seen this human a couple.. 20 times, or 50.. A couple 50.. Ya... He always seemed on the verge of sprinting or breaking down. Bad tapped the human on the shoulder. Skeppy turned back slightly flinching. "U-um, hello?" Skeppy scolded at himself for stuttering. "Do you happen to be.. Lost?" Bad questioned. His voice was slightly gruff, he hasn't talked to someone else in a long while, but at the same time his voice sounded sweet. But that was overtaken by his tall stature. "Um, no. I just decided to go on a walk, at night, in the cold. Soo.. I'ma do that now." Skeppy slightly jumped off the rock, preparing to sprint if needed.
Bad put a firm hand on his shoulder, he hadn't meant the action to be so aggressive but it seemed to set the human off. "What's your name?" Bad asked, attempting to keep the human in place a while longer. Skeppy wasn't sure whether to give his name or not, after all it WAS a stranger. But if it's a stranger, why should it matter? "Skeppy. My name is Skeppy, and I need to go. It was nice talking, but its getting late.." Skeppy kept on trying to weasel his way out of it, but this guy wouldn't stop asking questions.
Bad hummed, "Skeppy.." He said the name trying to get a feel for it, now he knew the name of the human- or Skeppy - good to know. "Right.. Alright! Bye now." Skeppy was uncomfortable by the situation, his voice getting louder. "You know, I don't think so." What?
