Jaywon Drabbles

Summary:

Just a few Jaywon scenes I randomly think about and decide to put to words.

None of these stories are related to each other in any way.

Chapter 1: You have me now

Notes:

I promise this story will get better, I just need to get this off my chest first:

Chapter Text

“It's just... a little too much, you know? And I get it, becoming an idol has its disadvantages and grievances. But I just didn't know I'd have so many responsibilities before it's all started.”

He gazed out at the sunset before them, just now realizing how long he'd been sitting on the wooden bench on their dorm's rooftop. “It's almost like everyone is expecting something of me and I just keep disappointing them.”

Jay smiled. “Yah, don't stress so much about it Jungwon-ah. Everything will work itself out in the end. I know the outcome seems unclear as of now but I promise you it'll get better.” Jay lightly shoved him playfully.

Jungwon sighed heavily, feeling the weight of everything–the debut, new leadership, homesickness and his own problems lighten. It's almost ridiculous how Jay had that effect on him so easily with just a few words.

He leans over and places his head on Jay's shoulder without thinking, watching the yellows and oranges of the sunset fade into vivid hues of pink and purple as the seconds fly by.

The atmosphere had become calm and quiet between them, both of them listening to each other breathe and exhale softly. It felt nice. And it felt...right? If that's the right way to describe it at least. “Thanks. For everything. But I just-” he cut himself off.

With a sudden nervousness, Jungwon hesitantly shifted his head to peek up at him but Jay was already looking at him.

His breath caught in his throat and a hand cupped his cheek.

Jay gently caressed him and looked into his eyes as if he was searching for something. And he must've found it because slowly, he leaned forward and presses his forehead against Jungwon's.

The younger boy is frozen in place yet can't bring himself to back away despite the pounding in his chest. His eyes widen as Jay glances down at him, gaze unyielding.

“Jungwon-ah, I'm not sure if you know this or not but you're amazing and kind and smart. But more than that, you're strong. So whatever comes your way, I'm 100% confident that you can overcome it. And if you feel like you can't do it, just remember that you can count on me. You're not alone in this. Ok?”

Words seemed to have left Jungwon at once because all he could do was nod dumbly and hum in agreement.

The smile Jay gave him melted his insides and the taller between the two pulled away. “Good.”
