Chapter 2: Haunted Past(I'll Haunt You Back)

Chapter Text

Sean was walking home from school one gloomy afternoon when he noticed a familiar person standing outside his house. Who could this mysterious person be that's all too familiar to Sean. Well you’ll have to read on to find out. Sean walked a few steps then called out to the person
“Hey you, what are you doing?” The person quickly looked in Sean's direction and within a second ran off quickly into the woods.
Sean was taken back like he had seen a ghost and was deciding if he wanted to run after them or if he should ignore it. After a few seconds he ran into the woods after this mysterious person. He quickly noticed that it was getting darker but continued to chase after the person. With every step Sean felt like he was stepping in quicksand. And every tree looked like they were blending together and he couldn’t see the sky anymore. Eventually after what felt like an eternity Sean stepped into a meadow where he saw the figure standing there.
This figure was standing still like time had stopped all of a sudden in that very moment. The wind was picking up around them. Sean took a couple steps towards the figure and spoke.
“What do you want from me? I didn’t have any involvement in what happened that night.”
The figure turned and spoke with a spectre-like voice. The voice was paper thin and raspy like an elderly person who was losing their voice.
“ I told you I'd be back for you. And here I am. You played a part in my death even if you didn’t physically harm me. You helped them dig my unmarked grave. I have come for you like I promised.”
Sean's face turned to a look of shock and horror and he started to turn and try to run but it was like he was standing in quicksand again. His mind was saying move but his body was not cooperating and listening to the commands.
“B-b-but I made my amends. I apologized to you. I testified against your killers in court. Why am I being punished? Please don’t kill me.” Sean started to freak out and hyperventilate.
“Yes you may have made amends but that does not save you from my promise to get revenge on those who helped in my untimely demise. Sean, what do you have to say for yourself?”
Sean started to cry and his body shivered as he took one look at the figure who came back to haunt him. It was the spirit of his middle school best friend Jackson. Who came back to take revenge like he promised.
