Loki sat on the couch with his computer on his lap, browsing through the pages. He remembered the discussion he had had that morning with Casey.
"You know Loki, it's pretty rare what you and Mobius are having."
"What?"
"Well it's not that often that two lovers are also best friends."
"Best friends?"
He clicked enter and then the first link in the results.
Your best friend is a person who is your closest and most cherished friend, someone you have fun with, someone you trust and someone in whom you confide.
That was definitely how he saw Mobius. Casey had said it was rare. From the beginning, the relationship he had with Mobius was something extraordinary to Loki.
He couldn't help but exclaim in wonder, "This is awesome!"
"What's awesome?" asked Mobius as he approached the couch.
Loki looked at him, a bright smile on his lips and when Mobius had arrived in front of him, he took his hand and said, "Not only am I deeply in love with you, you're my best friend!"
Mobius looked a little stunned and said, "Loki! You can't say something like that without warning."
Loki asked, a little hesitantly, "Why? Isn't that right?"
Mobius squeezed Loki's hand and said softly, "Yes, yes it is absolutely right, but I had never thought about it and you surprised me, that's all."
Loki wrapped his arms around Mobius' waist and pulled him over until he was in his lap. Both of them began to laugh.
Once calmed, Loki placed his hand on Mobius' cheek and said softly, "My love and my best friend."
Mobius turned his head into Loki's hand and kissed its palm before repeating, "My love and my best friend."
They stayed like that, snuggled together, savoring this new discovery about their relationship.
