How could I be so lucky?
Loki was lying on his side, his head resting on his arm while he was watching Mobius sleeping.
Maybe I had a miserable past, but somewhere in that miserable past, there must have been a moment of truth.
Because Loki had never thought that he would wake up like this every day, next to the man who had seen before anyone else the good that Loki had in him and who had helped him to achieve it.
You are there, lying beside me, loving me. You are the only one who saw that there was something to love.
Loki did not have to do anything to get Mobius' love.
He just had to be. He just had to be Loki.
No tricks, no tricks, no pretenses, just Loki.
How could I have guessed that running away with the Tesseract would be the luckiest thing I've ever done?
His desperate act had put him in the path of the man who slept peacefully at his side. Abandoned. Trusting. Loki could not help but move a trembling hand towards Mobius' face. But he didn't dare touch him because he didn't want to disturb his quiet sleep.
Are you aware, Mobius, of the grace you are granting me? To sleep beside me like this? To love me? To protect me? To cherish me like this?
Loki did not resist, and with a finger as light as a caress, he traced the contours of Mobius' face. Mobius opened his eyes and smiled as his gaze met Loki's.
"Good morning, sweetheart. Already awake?"
Loki leaned in and kissed him gently before whispering, "I never thought I'd be so lucky."
Mobius just answered before kissing Loki back, "Well, that makes two of us."
Both lucky to love and be loved.
