Chapter Text
Ninjago City, a soaring metropolis with wonderful buildings to slip over an afternoon to and seemingly endless historical monuments. Who could be bored in such a place? Lloyd, that’s who.
All the ninja had told him they were going out for the day. Nya was busy with her latest project that involved too much welding for his taste but he still found it impressive nonetheless, and his uncle was well, his uncle. Then there was the matter of his dad. The final battle had saved him but that didn’t mean the damage that he did was reversible. There were too many things to be said and no right words in reach.
There was nothing to do. No one to talk to or anyone he wanted to talk to. Peace felt wrong .
It made him restless.
After a couple hours of nothing happening on the Bounty, he decided to head out on his own too. Maybe find a nice cafe to people-watch for the afternoon.
Shouting a quick “I’m going out!” in the general direction of Wu’s room, Lloyd quickly leapt off the side of the ship and began making his way downtown.
He never got to the café.
Tommy “Thomas Careful Danger Kraken” Innit is a big man. A big man like him does not cry over silly nightmares. Should not be crying over silly nightmares, especially one about a man monster that’s tormented him for- years? Months? Honestly, he couldn’t tell you anymore.
Forget about the fucker. He can’t be allowed to take anymore of your life away from you. Were the words Tommy’s recited to himself to the point where he mutters it in his sleep, words that are easier said than done.
Remembering them at all when he was sobbing so hard that his entire body shook and his breaths were merely gasps? A lost cause. It was as if he was in the center of an earthquake. He was the vessel carrying the burden and the spectator forced to watch his own execution from within, unable to do anything.
It was then, when the shockwaves were reaching their peak, that his world completely flipped itself on its head.
